Passan Drops SURPRISING Jays Trade Update...
Oct 11, 2026
Folks, we have some very interesting news to go over today.
And in what has been a rollercoaster season thus far
for the Toronto Blue Jays,
we have an interesting report that has dropped from Jeff Passan
revealing some interesting information surrounding an upcoming trade.
And he has name-dropped a reliever that has fans very intrigued.
We're going to break down exactly what Jeff Passan said.
But not only that, rumors have started
to pick up surrounding the Jays and trades,
even though it is early in the season.
We're going to break that down.
But not only that, we have some controversy that happened
following yesterday's game involving both Tyler Hahnemann
and John Schneider there's some weird
things going on in yesterday's game following
John Schneider randomly pulling Tyler Hahnemann
and some injury updates
and Addison Barger making his return to the minor leagues not of course
long term but just as a rehab stint
and he looked very very good already hitting a home run folks
there is an abundance of news to go over today
before we get into it quick thank you for all
your guys support now folks I want to dive right
into it now bear with me on this one it's going
to be very interesting so a tweet surfaced
and a jays fan asked Jeff Passan about a potential trade
could you see the blue jays try
and trade for a legitimate closer after Jeff Hoffman struggles
now of course Louis Verlin has ultimately turned into the closer
and that kind of part has been
figured out but there's a tidbit of this that i
couldn't help but talk about you can see here
louis verlin has looked pretty darn good
and if he falters you can stick tyler rogers and i believe
this was you know kind of when you know before
Louis Verlin had fully taken over the closer
role but he said that said it's never a bad thing
to have more relief pitching i just don't know at
this point who's likely to be available one
of the issues with the standings being as flat as they
are is almost every team can squint
and see a playoff berth that is a chance to make for a
pretty lame deadline that said a role
this Chapman would look awfully nice at the back of the Jays
bullpen and him name dropping Chapman
is interesting for a variety of reasons including
Boston continuing to struggle blowing up
their team I'm going to break down what Chapman would
look like in a Jays uniform including some other rumors as well
but before we get into the rest of
the news folks a quick word from our sponsor mother's day
is just around the corner and let's

again to Aura Frames check them out folks it helps me out
a ton there and it's a fantastic product
folks let's dive right back into the news
and let's talk about this so obviously Aroldis Chapman
one of the better relievers in the MLB
this year 0.93 ERA in 10 games now let's preface this by
saying as of this point first of all would
the Red Sox consider trading the best reliever in baseball
to a division rival usually not but with how bad
and how weird the Red Sox season has been
this is a name to keep an eye out on there's
a reason Jeff Passan you know name dropped it right
He's not reporting necessarily that the Jays
are going to go ahead and trade for Aroldis
as Chapman, but he's reporting that name to keep an eye out on, right?
And he's kind of stirring the rumor mill
a little bit, and it does make sense.
Now, the Jays' bullpen is one of their strengths,
and they obviously have a lot of other fish
to fry, including, of course,
maybe figuring out some other issues on this team that I
think are going to get resolved mostly by people returning from injury.
But getting another lefty reliever would
be very exciting, and I think Louie Verlander
has kind of taken over the closer spot.
but I mean even if you get Aroldis
as Chapman I would love it personally now off the field there
is some stuff with him I don't love him necessarily
as at least what I could tell you know maybe as a
human being or at least some of the off the field issues
but as a strict baseball player it would
make this team really really crazy
and rumors have been flying now for a little bit like talking
about targets to trade for uh
to replace Jeff Hoffman again Louie Verland and Tyler Rogers
have kind of taken it over Jeff Hoffman looked
a little bit better there for a bit then kind of had
a mini blow-up session that got out
of the bases loaded jam I still think they could use another
arm like you you have Brayden Fisher he had a bit
of a blow up yesterday as well I'm always open to
kind of you know adding new relievers
and there's been some articles that have started to fly
involving multiple different pitchers I mean even
guys like Brian Abreu who have struggled this year
so there is ultimately going to be trade rumors
that continue to you know drop but Jeff passing
this early in the year name dropping a role
this Chapman usually would be absolutely crazy but
given the weird circumstance the Red Sox are in keep
an eye out for uh for the future of these
trade rumors continuing to pick up
though again it's probably unlikely given the fact that it is
an AL East rival but if they continue to free fall keep
an eye out for it at least as a name to look
at going forward and the relief market now a lot
of other news to go into today folks so i want to
start with what happened with Tyler Hyndman now
if you missed yesterday's game it was a weird one
the jays had a base i'll give you some context here
the jays had the bases loaded with the chance
to really do some damage and come back
from a deficit right they were ultimately down at 1.41
in the game Tyler Hyndman was at bat
and people were Davis Schneider was available on the bench
Brandon Valenzuela was available
on the bench Valenzuela's coming off of home run yesterday
he's hit like three home runs as of late
in the past handful of games everyone thought they were
going to pinch hit for him they didn't and then
so John Schneider doesn't pinch hit for him but then
after removed him from the game due
to a manager's decision didn't want to elaborate and Heineman
said it was just a situation everything that's
been going on and I just didn't get it done
manager's decision I stick by it one of the best managers in the game
and the best manager I played
for he has a reason for everything he does
and I fully support him so this was just weird because
i don't know what i'm if you're gonna take him out defensively why
on earth wouldn't you at the
very least pinch hit Brandon Valenzuela for him
or maybe if you prefer Davis Schneider because
Valenzuela's a rookie then you could do that but Schneider's
been struggling Heineman put together
a pathetic at-bat right and he said it was a pathetic at-bat
but again there seems to be a
bit more to this is he going to get DFA'd
when Alejandro Kirk comes back in a month or a couple
months or hopefully sooner than that just a weird weird scenario folks
and just comment down below
what your thoughts are I think John Schneider
messed up by not pinch hitting like that was
obvious and then removing him the vibes are weird
then Tyler Heineman said that he had a putrid at
bat basically paraphrasing a little bit I don't know weird stuff
and ultimately they lost the
game they should have won the game yesterday they lost
the game I mean Vlade had a couple hits he
snapped out of his mini cold slump I don't know it
was a sad game I'm not too stressed about it
team's getting healthy which we'll dive
into in a minute you know Braden Fisher had a mini blow
up like I mentioned Jeff Hoffman looked good yesterday luckily
but again his role we'll see
what happens going forward i don't know it is a uh it is a weird time
but some good news is mr
Addison Barger was added to MLB rehab assignment
and i believe Dunedin so it was uh it was very
encouraging you need these bats back
who's going to get sent down when Addison Barger comes back
it's a great question we don't know yet as of as of this point
but we do know is that Addison Barger
had hit a home run and threw his three half bats he hit
a 400 foot bomb a four pitch walk and he
ground at second base this is a guy they need to get back
and yes this is against Dunedin
very very you know a ball right so nothing crazy
but this team needs as much offense as they can
get they need to continue hopefully riding on their bullpen
but most importantly just getting
the offense going the pitching staff has done
a pretty good job right between Patrick Corbin
Dylan Cease Kevin Gausman those guys I mean hopefully
get Jose Barrios back soon and obviously Eric
Lauer as well he hasn't really done good
but he's been there you need to start stringing together
some wins and weird stuff going
on with Tyler Heinemann I don't know he has had a horrible
season a .398 OPS get Brandon Valenzuela
in there every single game the reason he wasn't yesterday
is ultimately and obviously Valenzuela replaced him after gotten
that bad but that wasn't pinch
hitting for the bases loaded but obviously
the reason they didn't put him in is because they
like Hyndman catching Trey Savage
who was okay fought through his command four innings one run
really good stuff right got six K's generated
a lot of nine whiffs on his fastball which is the
most of his career I believe what's
the stat I read, correct me down below if I'm wrong um but yeah
they need more starting pitchers as well
and Jose Barrios with three and two-thirds gave up seven
runs yesterday in Triple-A this isn't a question
of workload at this point yes it was just 10
degrees but i don't give that much weight tough
spot hashtag Blue Jays if they're gonna at this
point even bring back Barrios yet like he's ready
to go pitch count wise his results now back-to-back
poor starts comment down below what you guys would
do here is he better than Eric Lauer starting
probably i think i give him at least the benefit
of the doubt his sinker although it was cold
90.1 that's not going to play weird stuff going on folks
but ultimately it's an exciting time
some rumors are already starting to fly obviously it's
a bit early for trade rumors but it's tipping
from Jeff Pass and i want to keep you guys up
to date with of course all in good fun also make
sure to check out Aura Frames it truly would mean
the world to me folks they are they're fantastic
companies so thank you guys for supporting
me every step of the way see you guys later
