Nuggets Make MORE Moves...
1 Video View·Sep 24, 2026
The Denver Nuggets have made more moves as the team is getting ready for training camp
and they have made a few different signings for their roster after signing a big-time
point guard.
They went out there and made a few other moves as well.
As the Nuggets right now, they are not building towards their future per se as they still
do believe they can win the NBA championship in the upcoming season and believe they are
still a contending team.
And obviously, as long as you have Nikola Jokic, you are a contending team.
But at the same time, it doesn't mean they shouldn't be looking at younger players and
they went out there and did that and that's going to help the future and also as soon
as this season as well because the Nuggets, right now their bench is a little bit of a
dartboard throw.
So, to add any other players who we've seen have been productive at any level is certainly
a good move because there's times like this when you find diamonds in the rough and right
now that would be huge for the Nuggets.
And guys, diving into the video, there's a lot to look at.
And real quick, something I'm looking at is the fact that 70% of you guys are not yet
subscribed to the channel.
I'm telling you, we're locking in.
We got videos coming out all the time now.
It's completely free to subscribe and we are a couple subscribers away from 4,000 and yes,
we are doing YouTube Shorts.
It got delayed today because I guess I was a liar.
But overall guys, diving into the video, there is a lot to look at.
Look, between John Wallace, Ben Tenzer, and this front office, we know that part of the
job now because they're in the second apron and because they won the championship a while
ago and in this apron era, teams do start to lose their bench and fall apart a little
bit and have to pick up the pieces and part of that is hitting on dartboard throws and
finding needles in haystacks.
And right now, that is something that the Nuggets have done alright with but they need
one here and they've made a few different moves.
Moves that we are going to take a look at right now.
Starting off with overall, that they signed Reece Dixon Waters, great name, and Keontae
Jones, also a great name, two training camp deals.
But guys, this is the thing right here that we do have to look at is that these moves,
they do help a lot because they're two-way deals that aren't necessarily going to lock
them in on these contracts if they do get those two-way spots because two-way contracts
can change throughout the year and being on a training camp deal, at the very least,
it means they're going to be within the Nuggets system this year as the Nuggets do try to
chase a championship and speaking of championships, you probably know where this is going.
Thank you to Kalshi for sponsoring today's video.
Guys, on Kalshi, you're trading against other users, not the sportsbook or not the house
like traditional sportsbooks.
You're buying yes or no contracts on events across sports, the weather, and even politics
and guys, that does include the Denver Nuggets winning the 2027 NBA championship.
I've said it before, I'll say it again, I've said it on this channel for a while now.
When you have the best player in any playoff series, you have a chance.
The Nuggets are always going to have that because as of today, I'll stand on it, the
Nuggets have the best player in the NBA, Nikola Jokic.
DeMar DeRozan can lead this bench unit and their point guard situation can kind of fix
itself.
Honestly, the Nuggets do have a shot to win the championship for sure.
A 4% chance on Kalshi, so if you trade $25, you can make $585 in the process and the reason
I do mention that is because if you're interested in trying out Kalshi, use the link in the
description and the pinned comment and code DigestNBA to get $55 added to your account
instantly.
And guys, make sure to use that code and jumping back into the video, honestly, both these
moves I'm pretty psyched about because they just add players who are going to be on these
training camp deals.
And look, these are Exhibit 10 contracts and Exhibit 10 contract effectively means
if you do get waived, you have the option to join the team's G-League team and also
may or you are eligible for a two-way deal and might get put on a two-way contract as
well.
Exhibit 9 deals are the exact same thing.
You just can't get put on a two-way deal because you've been in the league for longer than
three years.
Just to explain a little bit of a difference because that is one of those weird contract
like deep basketball contract stuff that's very tough to keep up with.
But Sports Illustrated did discuss these moves that they made and they broke it down pretty
well.
I mean, mentioning Dixon Waters, he was a five-year college player finishing his career
with San Diego State and as a senior averaging 13 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per
game with nothing jumping off the page except an all-MWC bid.
But Dixon Waters has more size and is more of an athlete than Boopy Miller who they added
as well.
But he might not have the skills to truly make a difference in Denver's camp.
He got some more of the Golden State Warriors in the summer league where he averaged 7 points
and 3.3 rebounds, but there still is not much to fawn over his prospect profile.
We look at Dixon Waters, he's a 6'5 combo guard.
That's the thing here.
He really is more of a combo guard.
This guy who's bounced around a little bit, but overall shot 43% from the field, 35% from
three.
But the free throw numbers do show that if you can hit free throws at an 88% clip, you
can shoot usually about 40% from three.
You can get it down.
So it's a matter of, can he be long enough to be a good defender?
He's a great athlete.
He's bigger for his size as well.
When it comes to being 210 pounds, it's a bit of a filled out 210.
So he can play well and play multiple positions.
Now we played with the Golden State Warriors in the summer league and did get limited minutes,
but still, he overall was able to show some stuff that definitely did interest the Nuggets.
And I get why, again, if he can add any sort of on-ball defense, which the Nuggets will
want to do, and he can shoot above 35, 36% from three, he does have a future in the NBA
for sure.
That's what teams look for nowadays for guys who can come off the bench or be depth pieces
and certainly Dixon Waters does join that category here.
Now he only played 18 minutes per game in summer league.
This is a little bit harder to see, so you might have to zoom in a little bit, but overall
he did shoot 38% from three right there.
So we did see the man did have a three-point shot and if he's got a three-point shot and
can score, he can grab rebounds pretty well, he's someone who they will definitely look
at as a potential two-way guy on the wing.
And because the Nuggets, I mean, it's not that they have a shortage of wings or anything,
but at the same time, they do have an opportunity to go out there and make a very, very nice
move to put him on a two-way contract.
I would definitely watch Dixon Waters for a two-way contract for sure, but also we should
talk about Keontae Jones as well.
Keontae Jones, that signing feels similar to the Dixon Waters move.
As mentioned, the 24-year-old forward did not have a standoff collegiate career, but
the Nuggets did see something in him.
He was with the Dayton Flyers.
He averaged 7.7 points, five rebounds, and 2.2 assists with 1.5 steals per game.
While his numbers don't pop, he's an athletic wing who plays impressive defense.
Jones, overall, when we look at the numbers, this is a man who, again, the numbers don't
jump out, he can't shoot well, but he is a good defender who can guard around four positions,
which is enough for the Nuggets.
They're like, alright, screw it, we need defense in any sense of the word.
That's what both Dixon Waters and Keontae Jones are here for, but Dixon Waters looks
like more of a two-way contract, a guy who I'm very excited about for that exact reason.
Meanwhile, Sports Illustrated did mention with his defense alone, we can see why the
Nuggets like him enough to bring him in.
He averaged 1.6 steals in 1.1 blocks and 7 rebounds per game over three years in Division
1.
Now, we can certainly see Jones land with a spot with the Grand Rapids Gold, but at
a minimum, he'll provide athleticism and defense to help his new Nuggets teammates work a bit
harder in training camp.
Keep in mind, none of these three signings will make a real difference for the Nuggets
as they mentioned, as long as they don't make any more changes in the next week.
The 21-man training camp roster is now set.
So the roster's set, they've made the moves, and now the question is, can these guys fight
uphill to do something?
And honestly, I do think it is a very real scenario that the Nuggets can find a way to
put some of these guys on two-way contracts.
They're not all going to get it.
The Nuggets already have one two-way contract to use, but stay tuned for these other moves
as well.
I do think Boobie Miller is the guy who we're looking most at, who's going to get a very,
very, very real two-way, just because he's an actual guard with the best ball handling
here.
But also, I would definitely look for Dixon Waters.
This guy actually has real two-way potential in the NBA.
Two-way wing, plays good defense, can shoot the ball well.
Honestly, I do imagine Reece Dixon Waters is going to get the two-way deal.
But it is an interesting thing to go over just to understand everything the Nuggets
are doing.
And as I said, I'm going to talk about everything the Nuggets do throughout the next, well,
rest of my life.
YouTube doesn't pay.
I don't get retirement from YouTube, but guys, hopefully Ben Rodgers will give me retirement.
Go over to Raptors Digest and tell them to give me health insurance while we're at it.

Have a great day, guys.
I'll catch y'all later.
