Patriots make MULTIPLE Moves... This is AMAZING | Patriots News
Oct 18, 2026
The New England Patriots have just made multiple moves,
including one giant one.
Today, we discuss the moves made before the Jets game,
including the activation of a major player on offense,
plus an interesting release
and one elevation to the 53-man roster for Sunday's game.
All of it encompassed right here on today's show.
So welcome into Patriots Digest, everybody.
I'm Jace Andrews, and I hope you're having
a great Saturday wherever you might be watching college football,
whoever your team might be,
but let's get into some Patriots news as we await our one o'clock
kick tomorrow versus the New York Jets.
And we start with all the moves directly coming from
Mike Reese. Here are the Patriots transactions for this Saturday.
We have activated A.J. Brown
off IR to the 53-man roster.
That's the major move we're going to break down here,
but there also was a couple others.
They did elevate safety Elliot Davison off of the practice
squad onto the 53-man roster just
for this game you get three elevations from practice squad
to the roster every single year they
also released newly signed running back Hassan Haskins which
gives us some interesting input into Travion Henderson's status
but let's start first with the
major one and that is of course AJ Brown coming off IR now
this is fantastic news and after a
week's worth of practice in which we saw him cut great look well
and although it was limited
fashion in some portions he looked like he was fully ready to go
and obviously this is the first
step to it all but at the end of the day he still
is questionable for tomorrow's game just because
he is activated for tomorrow does not mean that he
is 100 good to go gonna play it just means he
has the ability to and he could be on a snap count even if he does
so lots of stuff still to be
decided but i really do think we are going to see him in some form
or fashion tomorrow afternoon
Which just hammers home the point to trade yes on Kalshi
for the New England Patriots to win
this game against the New York Jets.
Now, I'm going to go one step further with the activation of A.J. Brown
with the way that Drake Maye has been playing
and this offense is looking.
I think the Patriots are going to win this game by 10,
so I'm trading yes on that mark on Kalshi.
An $80 trade on that will get you over $100 in profit.
And on Kalshi, you're trading directly against other users,
not the house like a traditional sports book.
You're buying yes or no contracts on the outcome of events
across real life events that's sports politics
the weather you can trade for you want to trade
on dancing with the stars you can trade
on that too now again if you are interested in trying out
our presenting sponsor Kalshi
and making that trade well guess what we got a deal for you
because if you use the link in the description
or in the pinned comment of today's video and
then use this code DIGEST NFL new users who sign up
and trade $25 are going to get an extra $55
immediately added into your account that's where i got
that $80 trade from so you go trade today
on Kalsia as it is the fastest growing
trade market anywhere and we really do appreciate them
sponsoring today's show. AJ Brown
great practice progression
throughout the week. It was very much
a very good sign
to see him move forward each
and every day and look better and better every single day
and AJ did say he felt good in his
return to practice and that team was managing his
workload to see how he responds but by the time we got
to yesterday Friday in the final practice
felt 100% confident in his body
and that was a very limited time that we
got to see our All Pro trade acquisition
from the offseason from the Eagles just four targets
26 receiving yards no touchdowns in the first half
of the first game of the year I mean it
feels like forever ago we played off against the Seahawks
and we're a completely different team in
the way that we had injuries and just the way
that we looked in that game to the way that Drake May
and this team looks now which we can talk about
that a different timeline but here is the injury
timeline for Mr. A.J. Brown September 9th
that was of course the game against the Seahawks to
open up the season on Wednesday that's
when he suffered that high ankle sprain he returned to
practice and opened up his 21 day window
on October 14th we now have officially activated
him he still is questionable for tomorrow
but given the activation I have to think he's going
to play in some form or fashion it might be a limited role
but you wouldn't activate him today
if you weren't 100 positive of him being somewhat available
for tomorrow's game now what it means
moving forward for this team is immeasurable one you're going
to be in a good spot for what you
have in your wide receiver room
and even if his snap count does get monitored you don't have a
full you know representation
of what he can put out there i'll take 40 of what AJ Brown can bring
and put on this wide receiver room even
though you know we don't necessarily hopefully don't
need him without Mac Hollins it's definitely a huge thing
and of course i know the one person
that's might be more excited than AJ Brown
or at least just as excited as Drake Maye now Drake is
obviously gaining a potential top weapon
um it just depends on you know exactly what we can see
for A.J. Brown and all that,
but we kind of know what type of player he is.
Drake Maye, back this month,
was talking about how much he can add to this team,
the player that he is, and the skills that he possesses.
And he says that there aren't many like him
that roam around this league.
And so I'm really excited to see what we can get out of Drake May
and A.J. Brown in a full season.
Drake has already started to look like his past self.
He still has the seven interceptions, but again,
a majority of that came in the first three games,
which Mike Vrabel just has his way of coaching,
and we're going to get past it.
We're going to be okay.
1,200 passing yards.
Guy who has had back-to-back fantastic weeks.
Probably should have been the AFC player of the week,
but either way, he's just a really good quarterback as of late
and has shown that Drake May is back to what we expected.
without Mac Hollins, but he's going to have A.J. Brown,
Romeo Dobbs, his two new acquisitions this offseason.
Pop Douglas looked fantastic in the game against the Raiders.
Kyle Williams looked fantastic against the game against the Raiders.
Efton Chisum has looked fantastic the past two weeks.
But ultimately, everybody wants to talk up the Raiders' defense
and say that it's that good, and then as soon as we beat them,
it's not that good.
Well, get ready for the same thing to happen against the Jets
because people are saying, oh, the Jets, the one thing they have,
Aaron Glenn's a good defensive coach,
so I don't know how that's going to work.
But we'll see what happens tomorrow.
Targets, of course, to monitor.
Romeo Dobbs, he's been the main guy since we've lost A.J. Brown,
so expect him to be in a little bit of a target deficiency,
especially if A.J. plays as a full go, like 100%.
and then I'm curious to see what Pop Douglas
and Kyle Williams have because obviously coming off
a week where we scored 40 plus points
so they got their targets they got their catches but
are they going to keep that kind of momentum going
with the return of A.J. Brown I hope so
this wide receiver room is pretty solid as it
is especially adding A.J. but definitely something
to monitor for tomorrow's game now we
do have some other roster moves I do want to get to
before we end this video
so the first one is a cut the Patriots did release running back Hassan
Haskins now this is interesting to me
and it tells us a lot about Travion Henderson because
when you look at what we could expect from the signing
this earlier week with Hassan it was okay
there's concern for Travion well
if you release him I think it's the same thing that you think
about okay well if you signed him
because you were concerned about Travion you cut him because
you're not concerned in theory right like
that that should be how it is now he signed again just
this week like Monday literally
and then was released here on Saturday just uh you know one
practice squad opening has now opened up
so there is a spot for a potential maybe they liked one of
the three running backs they tried out yesterday
so we'll keep an eye on that as we progress through
this upcoming week in terms of Travion he
was surprised that he was able to practice which is
a little interesting and I think we were all surprised too
but he said that you know given
the high ankle sprain the test that's what they revealed
but ultimately he doesn't feel like he
had a high ankle sprain again I'm going to trust
the medical imaging over word of mouth but I still
think this is huge and given you're releasing him it's kind
of the same thing you're not going to
activate A.J. Brown if he's not going to play in some form
or fashion tomorrow you're not going to
cut Hassan Haskins after just signing him
if you don't feel confident in what Travion Henderson
can bring to the table now as for Travion
and his stats this season 163 rushing yards one
rushing touchdown he's really been the better back of him
and Ramondre Stevenson it's no discredit
to Ramondre but I think we can all agree
at this point long-term solution if Travion keeps going
he's the number one back you'd like to keep both
of them for as long as possible but it would be
really nice to have both of them in this game just
because the Jets are interesting their secondary
should be better but or should be not as good
as their rushing attack with David Bailey and
to some extent that is true
but I still I think their defense is better than the Raiders now it's
not saying much the Raiders defense we cut up like Swiss cheese
so we'll see but um oh at the
end of the day it's just like AJ Brown there's
not a guarantee that we're going to get back
Travion Henderson there
is no you know medical clearance given we don't have a you know full
roster move yet obviously was never placed
on IR he's still listed as questionable and we'll have
to wait and see how it comes out for tomorrow's matchup versus
the New York Jets again if he can't
play here the hope is it's a short week of practice he can
be back for the Thursday Night Football
game against the Bears and uh big news
on that Caleb Williams is playing this week for the Bears
so expect him to play on Thursday night against the Patriots as well
so that becomes a lot a lot
bigger game. One other and final
move to focus on, we talked about in the beginning, but
Patriots have elevated safety.
Elliot Davison, and
a couple reasons on why they chose to him.
First thing, it's the second straight
elevation for him, so not going to have to learn
any new signals or stuff. I mean, he's already in the
organization. He also had a special teams tackle
against the Raiders, so something there, and
definitely want some extra help in
that safety room. Now, you do feel
confident in your safeties. Your cornerbacks
are the ones that are injured,
but I think the reason why Davidson got
the call over other options
is because he does have some experience at the cornerback position
along with the safety position
so you have that kind of i guess uh double entendre to him where
you can play at both positions
and it makes it a good spot still waiting on the you know official
ruling for Campbell and Henderson we probably won't find
that out till tomorrow morning to be
honest with you but given they did not elevate
a running back given they did not elevate an
offensive tackle you kind of feel good about
what could happen tomorrow with Will Campbell
and with Travion Henderson I feel like if you had
to ask me right now I'd say it's 85 percent that
him in fact I'll go one step further A.J. Brown Will Campbell
and Travion Henderson I think I'm
both all combined have an 85 percent chance to play
so like that's pretty solid when you think
about it and we'll see kind of what trends what what happens
but here's the full transaction
roundup for today A.J. Brown obviously activated off the IR
so he's there Davison has been elevated
and Hassan Haskins was released from the practice squad there
is a practice squad slot open and I
I don't believe the Patriots,
I think they had a 53-man roster spot open.
They might have.
So I don't think they had to cut anybody from the 53-man roster.
But we'll see if that does, that might pop up tomorrow.
We'll see.
I thought they had opened a roster spot.
But besides the points, here's your AFC East picture.
You want to beat the Jets because if they win,
you're all of a sudden tied with them in the AFC East.
Which, you know, all the Jets fans are like, the big game for us.
Like, we got to go out there and teach them.
Teach them a lesson here.
Put them to 2-4.
Put us to 4-2.
And hey, maybe you can tie the bills this week.
Now, one final thing I want to ask you is what your top move was
from this move transactions.
Was Brown being activated off the injured list?
Was it Hassan Haskins
and Henderson kind of knowing that Travion could play
this week, or is it the elevation of Davison?
To me, I think it's Hassan Haskins getting released
and the prospect of Travion playing.
I love A.J. Brown.
I think he's going to be great, but I still don't know what capacity
we're going to have him in tomorrow.
So I think Henderson being fully ready to go,
at least that's what it sounds like, is a big thing to me.
Let us know A for Brown, B for Henderson, C for Davison.
And, of course, we'll keep you updated and see you tomorrow.
Again, a reminder, apologies, no stream tomorrow.
But, of course, we will have a video for you later on in the evening.
And we'll keep you covered all through the week.
So make sure you hit that subscribe button.
For now, guys, peace out.
