Knicks Make HUGE Move...

We have breaking news to go over on the New York Knicks today. The Knicks just made a major move for their team. As the Knicks, they've been enthralled with Bruce Brown for years now. However, they just made a move that made it clear who the final roster spot goes to. And it's the man we all knew it was going to go to. It's James Wiseman. But now, the Knicks, they have made that official. As we know what the opening day roster is going to look like on ring night. But there actually is a catch here. Though the Knicks did just let go of a man they love, At the same time, they are going to look to bring him back. And right now, it doesn't mean the Pacome-Dottier trade or even a Tyler Kolek trade is not happening. It just means it gets slightly delayed. It could mean that it gets delayed until December, until the trade deadline. It could also mean it gets delayed until like three, four, five, six days from now. But the Knicks, they had to finalize their roster by Monday. And now they have, as the Knicks just made a huge move, guys. And jumping into the news today, we got a huge update on the team as the Knicks have waived Bruce Brown and will be keeping James Wiseman. It was announced by Sean StringSet that the New York Knicks are waiving Bruce Brown. James Wiseman is set to make the Knicks regular season roster as a reserve center. obviously a very big deal here for the New York Knicks right now as we do look at the roster I mean we see Brown heads out we do see Jalen Brunson, Jose Alvarado, Tyler Kolek one of the deepest if not the best point guard rotation in basketball obviously we know our wings with Mikal Bridges, OG, Deuce, Jordan Clarkson, Landry Shamet maybe not necessarily in that order of playing time not actually at all considering Shamet's the sixth man we got Mohamed Diawara around Drew Eubanks has been waived he'll be coming off of that depth chart in a moment from now and also Andre Drummond is the Knicks backup center but James Wiseman did what a lot of people didn't think he was going to do and made the roster now I do just want to say if you guys are on the fence about subscribing I said from the moment the Knicks signed Wiseman that he's probably gonna be the guy who gets it because the Knicks really do believe in their center development they believe they can develop big men very very well and they after they lost a young big man in Ariel Huckporty they went out and they brought Wiseman in pretty quickly into the entire flurry of signings they made in September. As James Wiseman has made the New York Knicks, he gets his opportunity that he's been trying to get. Wiseman, ever since leaving the Detroit Pistons, has really struggled to find his way in the NBA. He's only played in five regular season games over the last two seasons. That includes four this year and one with Indiana in the year prior. now there's a lot to look at here the Knicks on their side of things what we see is a team that really needed a third big man they had to get one because big men they're not going to play 82 games I know Andre Drummond played like 79 last year and Kat's been mainly healthy knock on wood throughout his career but at the same time you need more depth and I know the Knicks are going to play OG at center a little bit but still you got to go out there you got to get your big man in there and Wiseman is the perfect guy because the Knicks I'm going to tell you the dream scenario for the New York Knicks right now when it comes to James Wiseman get ready for this because it's exactly what they're doing and this is not me saying I've been sent inside information I need to make it clear I don't this is me knowing the New York Knicks quite well I cover them for a living I think I got a pretty decent idea on how this team operates look this is the big thing about the Knicks right now they want James Wiseman because Andre Drummond's 33 years old he's not a long term player he'll be with the Knicks this season and probably next season as the backup center to but then after that what they're hoping is this season Wiseman in his limited minutes plays well enough to garner a contract extension but because it's limited minutes they're going to give him a contract extension that's not fully guaranteed at all so they can cut him if they need the extra money all of a sudden but at the same time it's going to be a cheap deal but it's going to keep Wiseman in the NBA they're going to give him a similar deal to what Deuce McBride got where Deuce instantly I mean he played badly for a week and a half as the Knicks backup point guard after the Knicks traded for OG Anunoby trading their backup point guard in Emmanuel Quickley who was the best backup point guard in the league at the time and guys they're going to give that deal like when Deuce wasn't playing when the Knicks extended him and two weeks later Deuce breaks out and becomes the Deuce McBride that we all know and love today the Knicks are going to do that with James Wiseman they're going to put him on the floor maybe he'll play well maybe he'll struggle but regardless they'll sign him to an extension and then they'll believe that he will develop that they will be able to break him really in to an NBA player I mean he's had moments before he totally can do it as well we've seen James Wiseman been able to show up and show out in the past I mean throughout his career he has averaged honestly nine points per game and 5.5 rebounds and he's only 25 years old there is no reason to believe that James Wiseman has hit his peak in the NBA yet I know he's only played five games in the last couple of years and injuries have plagued him but now he's had his time he's gotten healthy the Knicks have Casey Smith who is the best in the business of keeping big men healthy if you want to if you need proof look at Mitchell Robinson Wiseman has been way less injured than Mitchell Robinson has been but guys this is the thing about Wiseman he's talented look at these years he had in Detroit he was putting up 10 points a game six rebounds he was blocking a shot in Golden State as a rookie he was putting up 11 points a game six rebounds he was blocking a shot he's got a great vision for a center can absolutely work at the high post will shoot that mid-range shot guys I've been psyched on James Wiseman for a while I absolutely love this move now the Knicks they didn't have enough money to keep Bruce Brown around or they would of obviously Cowboy Bruce is a guy who the Knicks have been interested in ever since the Nuggets won the NBA Finals because he's just another Josh Hart pretty much and obviously the Knicks didn't have Josh Hart then but they knew they were going to try to go get Josh Hart that was already that was in the cards especially once they had Josh Hart and saw how much of a winner he was they wanted to get Bruce Brown do the same thing so it's not too surprising to see that on top of that Ian Begley did say my read heading into the weekend Wiseman's a lock to make a roster there's strong support to add Brown as well that support comes straight from Leon Rose Leon's a big he said this on James Wiseman. He said on James Wiseman's podcast. Now he said this on the roommate show with Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Matt Hillman when they had him on, which Leon said would only happen if they won a ring. Leon did say his goal was to add people who understood the culture they were trying to build and were trying and he was trying to specifically add winners. Jalen Brunson won in high school, won in college the literal first year he went to college, won in college in his junior season one in the NBA Mikael Bridges who also hadn't won the NBA but had been to the finals one in college with Jalen Brunson Josh Hart who you know now was a ring as well one in college OG just a winning style of player who had a ring to his name I know he didn't play a lot with the Raptors he had the appendectomy but still he knew how to win Carl Anthony Towns had nothing but success throughout his NBA and even prior I know he didn't win he was a one and done they went undefeated they lost obviously to Frank Kaminsky they lost yeah and then Duke won that they won that year yeah but um overall what this move is the Knicks see Wiseman as a winner and guess what Wiseman has he's got a ring on that finger he has he's won a championship I know he would miss the entire year with an injury but you soak that stuff up you get used to winning that is what James Wiseman has gotten used to early on in his career by the way before that he was winning as I know he didn't play a ton of matches that was a very strange situation that went down there but in high school you think James Wiseman wasn't winning stuff it's James Wiseman he was carrying his teams Again, this is a man who was the second overall pick in the draft for a reason. This guy who the Knicks think is an absolute winner here. Now, we saw Sleeper Knicks just say wow at the idea of it because there was a lot of thought that, you know, Brown would make the team. But from our report, he said this was going to happen, that Wiseman was going to make the team. I think we all kind of knew this one was coming, though. It really is just interesting to see where everything happens, like, from now on, honestly. Like, that's the stuff that I kind of wonder right now when it comes down to it. I mean, we see right here George Fitness, Y08BL, giving a comment. We're going to show some fan comments right now. He mentioned him so glad he's making the team. But we also saw Charlie King. Shout out to Charlie King, who's been commenting on this channel since I began, who said he can't stay healthy and stop thinking about his age. This is about his health. It's a good point. But also Casey Smith at the Knicks staying mainly healthy last year. The Knicks training staff, they won the award for the best training staff. Guys, I think Wiseman is a steal right here. I think this is a great move. And I don't think the door is closed on Bruce Brown at all. I don't think the Bruce Brown door is closed. I just think we're not going to – we need better images is what has to happen because this stuff infuriates me because, you know, I want to bring you the best content possible. I think Brown's going to get here. I think Brown's agent has probably told him something along the lines of, hey, obviously you're getting waived. The Knicks couldn't put together a Pekovic-Dier trade. They're going to keep working at it. They're going to try to move him. Once they do, they're going to call you. If Brown doesn't sign with another team, which he might, he's very, very good, and a team will sign him because he's a winner. He's still a Swiss Army Knife, even though he's getting a little bit older. I do imagine that he might get signed elsewhere. But if not, I also do imagine the Knicks would be fine. I mean, the Knicks would love it. It depends on how Brown's feeling. If they were like, hey, you want to play for the Westchester Knicks?
