Bruins Make NEW Move... More Moves Coming | Boston Bruins News
Oct 6, 2026
Boston Bruins have made a huge move in preparation to get Matthew Poitra into this NHL lineup.
We're going to be breaking this move down, going over what this means for not just the
current Boston Bruins, but also how this is all going to have an impact on the defense
as well.
But we have a lot to break down here today, as this Bruins team suffered a pretty interesting
loss against the Wild last night, with multiple things now very, very clear.
We're going to be touching on all that here in this video.
But before we do, get into it, folks.
If you haven't already, be sure to drop us off on the channel.
We're getting videos out here every single day surrounding this Boston Bruins team, and
with what's coming next, you will not want to miss it.
We have a lot of news coming in.
Simone Evanson, I heard you well, could end up in a Boston Bruins uniform.
We're going to have a video on that as well coming very, very soon, so you will not want
to miss that one.
And I need to get straight into this, because we're seeing Matthew Poitra here now with
a move that ultimately sent Mikey Acemont down to the AHL, placing him on waivers for
the purpose of assignment to Providence, and this gives Matt Poitra what could very well
be his final chance in Boston before a trade, before a lot of different things all come
into play.
But with Mikey Acemont being sent down, that is the move.
That's what, you know, is ready at this point, and Matt Poitra could very well be in for
the next game, but there is something to take a note of.
Like we saw Marco Sturm say, he wants to make sure Matt Poitra has a few practices under
his belt.
We knew he would not be traveling to Minnesota or to Winnipeg, so don't know if he gets in
tomorrow, but we have to see.
So with all that being said, Matt Poitra now being in this lineup changes one thing for
the Bruins and gives them exactly what they need, and that is some speed in the lower
half of the lineup, mainly what could be a fourth line, and we're going to be touching
on what things may look like here in just one second.
Before we do that, folks, we have a word from the sponsor of this video, Anson Belt & Buckle.
You know what ruins a great outfit really fast?
An old beat-up belt that doesn't fit right.
Most guys are still wearing the belts with stretched out holes that either pin to your
waist or snag and just throw off your whole look.
That's why I'm excited to have Anson Belt & Buckle as the sponsor of today's video.
Instead of holes, Anson uses the micro-adjustable track system with quarter-inch increments
so your belt fits perfectly every single time.
Once you experience that kind of fit and comfort, trust me, you will never want to wear a regular
belt again.
I've been wearing mine nonstop, and honestly, it's the best I've ever owned.
Once you try it, trust me, you'll never go back to old belts, and if you're wondering
why you should trust them, this company that has a proudly family-owned and operated has
earned over 40,000 5-star reviews with a lifetime guarantee.
They stand behind in every product they make, and once you get one, you will see why.
Because Anson Belt & Buckle is sponsoring today's video, when you click the link in
the description or scan the QR code to build a box set, you will get two bonus pieces,
a buckle and a strap completely free.
That's three buckles and three straps which can be mixed and matched into nine unique
belt combos all in one.
It's an exclusive deal you will not get anywhere else, so click the link, build your
set, and upgrade your belt game today, and thank you Anson Belt & Buckle for sponsoring
this video.
Again, shoutout to Anson for sponsoring this video, I literally wear these belts every
day and it looks like they're just brand new out of the box, so be sure to go check
them out.
Even if you don't need a new belt, go get one, because they will last you forever.
But when we look at Matt Quattro as a player who, once again, could be on his last legs
as a Boston Bruin, going back to Providence last year, everything pointed to him being
a player that will have success, and keep in mind, he's still only 22 years old, he
has two seasons under his belt already, with three games last year, so really three professional
seasons, starting at 19, you know, his development is still, it's still there, you know, it's
not over, it's not even close to over yet.
With 69 games played last year in the AHL, 44 points, and even those three games we saw
in Boston last year, one being the outdoor game, he looked like an entirely different
player.
He's stronger, he looks like he actually, you know, gets into areas that he didn't before,
that he couldn't before.
He's a guy that now, having that bigger stature, being, you know, 6 foot 190, probably even
closer to 200 right now at this point, is structured to be that two-way center that,
you know, this team was hoping he would be very early on, and I gotta say, you know,
giving Matt Potcher an early opportunity, I didn't hate the idea of it, but I think
right now is when we're really going to see him start to get into what he should've been
a couple years ago, or what people thought he would've been a couple of years ago, and
I mean, looking at this Bruins depth chart right now, you are going to realize this is
not exactly what the lines are going in from last night, but these are a few changes that
I would make, and to be honest with you, I probably would've put Elias Lindholm down
in the fourth line if I could.
You know, I don't know if we're going to see Marco Sturm necessarily do that, but I would
really like to see James Higgins, Matt Potcher, and Rodgers in that team.
Although we are seeing Tanner Jeneau, Mark Haslick play some great games, this ultimately
leads to Sean Corrale coming out of the lineup, and even the fact that, you know, you're seeing
Matt Potcher, at least right here, and of course, this could very well change for next
game on that fourth line, that fourth line is not a normal NHL fourth line.
These guys still have a lot of skill, and really, last game, especially against the
Wild, they were the best line that we saw, so, I mean, I don't think it's a negative
to put Matt Potcher there, but I want to see the Bruins at least give them an opportunity
with players where they're not going to be holding them back, and I think that's the
biggest question mark as far as to what can happen, and you know, with him being added
to this lineup, I think there's also going to be a pretty good chance to see what could
happen on special teams, and specifically on the penalty kill, and if we look at this,
penalty kill one had Mark Haslick and Sean Corrale, I really don't see anybody else except
Sean Corrale coming out of this lineup for Matt Potcher when it happens, so maybe we
do end up seeing Matt Potcher on the penalty kill as well, maybe throwing him with Haslick,
Zdorov, and Conor Clifton, I know there's a lot of things that you don't want to throw
him into the deep waters right away to start the season, but I think if Matt Potcher's
ready to go and he wants to do it, you're going to give him that opportunity to show
Bruins fans, Don Sweeney, Marco Stern, that he should stay here, because being on a one-way
contract, or I should say a one-year two-way contract, but needing to go through waivers,
you can't put him through waivers, you'll very well lose him, so if a trade comes down
to it, the Bruins won't hesitate to do that, I would say, in my mind.
The offense right now, I think, when we're looking at it, you're looking at Mark Haslick
being on the top of last game, like I said, being very, very good, I don't think that
there's a bad spot for Matt Potcher on this lineup, I think that's the bottom line, but
there is one thing, so give me your thoughts on Matt Potcher down below about this,
where do you want to see him in this Bruins lineup, how do you want to see him
kind of fit into this lineup, let me know down below, but I wanted to touch on the defense
here very quick, because I think one thing is confirmed now, that Jonathan Aspro has to
sit, I think Frederick Burnett needs to be in this lineup, Aspro last night just looks
defeated, as he has every single game this season, and you know, you see him there second
in defense on this team behind Conor Clifton, I don't care, you know, I need to see Aspro
get out of this lineup, and just see what Frederick Burnett can do, we've been waiting
for it, and I mean, if we're looking at it, like, well, Mikey Aismont in this case here
on this one, the wrong graphic, but if we're looking at a player like Jonathan Aspro,
very well couldn't clear waivers either, but you need to see what Frederick Burnett can do,
because then you're getting in Charlie McAvoy, you want to eventually see that pairing of
Burnett and McAvoy, but you don't want to put Burnett in cold, McAvoy is going to come
in cold, but you don't want to have two of those guys on the first line come in cold,
and you got to see what pairings would work, what doesn't, before that happens, before
it is ultimately too late, and even though it is already started the season, there's still only,
you know, three games under our belt, the Bruins are still leading the wildcard picture,
or at least the Atlantic division, excuse me, I should say, but there's a lot of time to,
you know, see where things go from here, and you want to figure it out early and get what works,
so folks, give me your thoughts on that down below as well, but that is all I have here in
this one, if you did enjoy, give it a like, hit the sub button as well, I'm signing out,
thank you for watching, hope you have a great day, see you later.
