Jays make MORE moves... Multiple HUGE Injury Updates | Toronto Blue Jays News
Oct 26, 2026
Some big news to go over today is the Toronto
Blue Jays have made even more moves and following
the Jays finalizing the roster yesterday afternoon,
we are now just a day away from opening day
and they've made even more moves specifically
revealing some critical information surrounding
some of the injuries that they are dealing with.
We're going to break down exactly what these moves
are and discuss what they actually mean
going forward for this team.
But not only that, we have a ton of other
updates, including some more injury stuff
and also some interesting notes ahead
of tomorrow's game that you're going to want to tune in
For folks, happy, I guess, opening day eve for the Jays.
The Yankees, of course, won yesterday.
In pretty dominant fashion, the Jays get to start tomorrow.
A ton of other teams are starting today,
so hopefully you're all enjoying that.
Before we get into it, a very quick reminder
to hit the subscribe button if you're excited
for the Daily Jays content all regular season long.
And the daily content all throughout the offseason,
of course, going to keep happening in the regular season.
Now, let's dive into some of the moves.
Now, of course, yesterday I broke down the opening day roster.
The moves were made.
David Schneider made the team.
Leo Jimenez, DFA.
Spencer Miles made the team.
Chase Lee didn't.
but we had a bunch of moves after
that that are actually pretty important here because it gives
us some light into what the actual injuries
are for some of these guys so let's start
Jose Barrios was placed on the 15-day
il with it being retroactive to march 22nd so it's really
like an 11-day il Chasey Bieber same thing jimmy
Garcia same thing, Trey Savage same thing, Anthony
Santander on the 10-day IL, which I'll dive into in a minute
and then Chase being optioned to
Buffalo, Angel Bastardo DFA, Leo Jimenez DFA now
a couple pieces of information here that are pretty
useful, so people see Santander being on the 10-day
IL and are thinking wait is he going to come back
soon he's obviously a pretty crucial part
of this team hopefully if healthy no he is not for those
wondering Toronto can still transfer
and they will Anthony Santander to the 60-day IL whenever they
need to open a 40-man roster spot
so don't be fooled by the 10-day IL placement here so it's
not about Anthony Santander returning sooner
but it is of course just kind of an administrative
thing but it is good news here no one is placed
on the super long IL not to say that it can't
happen but this kind of gives you guys
a full you know full insight of a what the injuries are
and how this team can turn things around quickly
so Jose Barrios he says he's feeling good I
suspect he'll be pretty good after this IL stint
and the real guy to look at here is Shane Bieber
and Jimmy Garcia because those are two guys retroactive
to the 22nd of March which means
a couple weeks basically from from opening day
tomorrow we presume they'll be ready and it's
good to know that it's not hasn't gotten any worse for Jimmy Garcia
and Shane Bieber they're both
ramping up pretty quickly
and same with Trey Savage who of course is undergoing a right
shoulder impingement all three
of those guys pretty short term IL of course the 15 day which
is standard you're not gonna be 60 day
but no one has gotten moved to the 60 day as of this point
there hasn't been any negative updates
which we would have heard yesterday so that's some pretty
good news overall and it
also gives you some insight on exactly what the injuries were also
Chase Leavitt option in AAA Buffalo he'll
be a pretty unique option there and of course
Santander on the 10 day IL but i want to dive
into a couple different things now but let me
down below what your thoughts
are on this and in case you missed it yesterday they also uh you know
Davis Schneider made the team
and then Spencer Miles rounding it out so the opening day roster
is fully figured out now they're looking pretty good
and you look at the squad in general it still
says Leo Jimenez their FanGraphs
and updated he's no longer going to be there Josh Kasovich
is going to be the next man up
but folks let's dive into some positives ahead of ahead of tomorrow's
game it's crazy the Jays play tomorrow i'm probably gonna have
a prediction video for you guys
tomorrow morning a pretty lengthy one
so stay tuned for that plus i've been now Josh Goldberg
came out and tweeted i think Jeff Hoffman Tyler
Rogers Louis Verlin could be one of the best
bullpen trios in the league we're looking forward
to seeing how Rogers and Verlin are deployed this
year and the reason i bring this up
is because again you look at the moves you're missing Jimmy
Garcia one of your best bullpen arms you add Jimmy Garcia
who clearly now is going to be ready
somewhat soon to this and you're looking
at an extremely extremely solid bullpen now i've been
record multiple times this offseason saying they need
to add one more arm i'm probably still you
know there maybe they go ahead and make a trade
for JoJo Romero of the Cardinals or something
like that but it seems like for now they're going
into tomorrow's game with what the lineup is
bearing a shocking unforeseen trade
on day two technically of the MLB season starting really
day uh you know day one
and a half i don't know if it's a weird schedule this year to start the
year but it is notable and you look at some other tweets
that are coming out you look at the opening
day rotation and the bullpen of how it looks it's locked in now
so you have Hoffman, Rodgers,
Verland, Brennan Little, Braden Fisher, Mason Fleury,
Tommy Nance, Spencer Miles so basically
the same bullpen as last year and you uh you add Spencer Miles
and you can take out Sir Anthony
Dominguez it's pretty darn good could it be better absolutely
and the opening day rotation you have
Gossman, Cease, Lauer, Ponscherzer
in that order pretty good could it be better absolutely and it
will get better with injuries right you have Jose Barrios,
Shane Bieber and of course I mean Trey
Savage you're at a point now where all of a sudden
this team could look vastly different in let's say
a couple weeks so 15 days so two weeks
and a day from March 22nd so whenever that was Sunday or
Monday you're at a point now where it is a very very unique situation
and I want to continue to
dive into a couple other things
so you can see here obviously the rest of the infield is sort
of through let's look at the infielders folks you have Ernie Clement,
Andres Jimenez, Vladimir
Guerrero Jr and Kazuma Okamoto folks you four infielders
now obviously david schneider is an infielder
slash outfielder that's why people were lobbying
that they might go with leo jimenez because you
didn't have really like you're versatile
and it's one of the most versatile infields in baseball
kind of like vladdy in theory you can play third
kazuma okamoto in theory you can play third and
first Ernie Clement can play short he's gonna start
the season at second base Andres Jimenez
is gonna be playing short he can play basically
anywhere you put him right but you don't have
that much versatility in the infield
and that's where things get a little bit scary now looking
through the outfielders you're in a very good spot
and the Jesus Sanchez acquisition can't be
understated but it is um it's gonna be some exciting stuff here
and there were some predictions
that Kiki Matheson made I want you guys to leave
your predictions down below we'll have it tomorrow
he says that Dylan Cease finished the top three
for AL Cy Young John Schneider sets new career high for
ejections in a single season his current high is only four
which seems insanely low by the way
i am hitting the hammering the over
on that all day every day i think he's going to get five six
ejections and Kazuma Okamoto becomes your favorite player
but all that to be said you look at the
moves that they made you look at all the you know
the injuries let's say hypothetically anthony
Santander somehow returns right
and he can be a shade of his 2024 self right when he was an
insane for the Orioles it's uh you're in a very very good spot
because you also then
these aren't super long injuries i know i've talked about
on the channel like at the end of
the day here they do have some injuries to start
the season most teams do luckily they're doable
right this team can be so much better
and that's kind of the point of this video and leave down
below your fun projections because this season
is going to be an exciting one and whether you
want to see the jays buy into a different they're
not gonna the jays are the jays right they're
gonna play the way they play they're
not gonna strike out a lot despite the additions of guys
like Jesus Sanchez to strike out a little bit more.
They're in an extremely, extremely good spot.
You bring David Schneider back.
You also have a bobble day for a bobblehead day, rather,
for him as a kid, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. with his father,
of course, the infamous pitcher.
Vibes are at an all-time, eh, not all-time.
Vibes are pretty close to being at an all-time high
for a start of a regular season.
The Jays are ready to do it, man.
And we saw yesterday, the Yankees,
they absolutely curb-stomped the San Francisco Giants.
And you can't underestimate how good this division is, whether
that be in the form of the Yankees, who kind of just ran it back.
The Orioles got significantly better.
The Red Sox got better.
The Rays, you can never count them out.
The Jays are in a good spot.
But ahead of tomorrow, I just want to encourage everybody
to take a breath, enjoy every single moment,
and also enjoy some moments from JoJo Parker,
our recent first-round pick, who's absolutely dominant.
I just want to plant this seed now,
and say, let's all meet back here in a year.
But for now, I really can't overstate the amount
of buzz around JoJo Parker and the Blue Jays organization.
we're gonna be keeping you up to date
with him all off season long next year and
of course all regular season long this year he's
not gonna make the team never say never but he's
probably not gonna make the team right he's not but um even
though he's not gonna make the team
you can still follow him and we'll keep you up
to date every step of the way folks this team is in
great shape the moves they made are encouraging both
on the official roster side and point of
view but also the injuries not being severe
and baseball is not even right around the corner it's
here and i'm ready to roll
Thank
you.
