A family is grieving after a deadly stabbing
in Wheaton Monday morning and this morning the
victim's sister is sharing what her brother meant
to her family in this exclusive interview with
Fox 5. Maureen Umeh is more
and has more now on that story from Wheaton and the latest
in the investigation. Maureen.
Yeah, a heartbroken family, just questioning why this had to happen.
This is a memorial that friends and family members have
been leaving for the victim, Christopher Schuller.
This is the location where he was stabbed. His body was found.
Police still don't have a suspect right now.
His sister spoke exclusively with Fox 5 about
the brother she says was her best friend.
Take a listen.
Chris was amazing.
He was always the person anyone could go to for help.
He, if you ask anyone in our friend group,
He would take care of anyone,
give anyone the shirt off his back, or do anything for them.
Marilyn Jackson says she can't understand
why anyone would hurt her brother.
She says the 42-year-old Silver Spring man
was a mechanic who had many friends
and frequently hung out at a bar where he
was killed early Monday morning.
That bar near where he was killed, I should make that clear.
Officers responded to the 11300 block
of Elkin Street just after midnight.
That's where they found Schuller with an apparent stab wound.
He was pronounced dead here on the scene.
Since then, a memorial of flowers and candles has grown as friends
and family continue to mourn his loss.
Schuller leaves behind three nieces,
two nephews, and friends who were like family.
Some of those friends say that Chris
and the person who stabbed him knew each other.
They say they were hanging out at the nearby bar, got into an argument.
It continued outside, and that's
when the suspect stabbed Chris and then left the scene.
Marilyn Jackson is asking for help with travel and other expenses
as the family makes arrangements to honor her brother's life.
Losing him is devastating for so many people.
There aren't words to describe it.
It's unmatched.
Now, police have not released a suspect information right now,
but Marilyn Jackson is saying that the person that stabbed her brother,
there is a grainy picture of him
that police do have, along with a nickname.
So she's hoping that that information will help
at least help police in their investigation.
In the meantime, the police are asking anyone
who does have information about what happened here
or knows anything to give Montgomery County crime solvers a call.
Back to you.
