All right, Senator, you know, the results are coming in right now.
They're calling it for John Ossoff.
Sherrod Brown is leading the polls.
I mean, what is this possible shift in the balance of power?
What does that mean for Americans?
You know what, Americans have been,
they've spoken loud and clear tonight.
All of the exit polling is showing that Americans at 80%
and above are all voting based on the economy.
And they recognize that the Republican Party,
who have had control of the House, the Senate, and the White House.
I have now really set an environment where Americans have
not been able to afford the
cost of living and Americans have spoken tonight,
I think resoundingly, that they believe Republicans
should be fired.
And that Democrats, they believe,
are best able to move our country forward.
And if this blue tsunami comes to fruition,
as we're seeing it happen in real time right now,
as these polls are closing, what can we expect for the next two years?
Because you still have President Trump in the White House.
What can really be achieved?
Well, you know what?
I think what Americans can expect is we have heard them.
We understand now that our agenda has to, first of all,
be to bring down the cost of health care.
I've heard it all over the country.
I've traveled everywhere from Mississippi.
Georgia, I was yesterday in Florida, and Americans are in one accord
regarding health care and what we saw with this big, ugly bill.
They expect for us to do the work of ending this stupid war in Iran,
the one that we have no business
in and that they don't know how to get us out of,
that's caused the cost of gas to increase,
the cost of everything to increase, the tariffs.
They expect us to take action, and that's exactly what we will
do is to really center the lives of Americans
at the very center and the very core of our agenda
is to make sure we're doing what is necessary
to improve their lives and to hold people accountable.
And when it comes to affordability here in Maryland,
you've heard it time and time again,
things are costing too much for Marylanders.
You're here to support Governor Moore.
What can you do to help people in this state?
Well, you know what?
We've already, you know,
the first piece of legislation that I actually filed was to really
But what's regarding tariffs,
these are some of the policies that are hurting people inside
Maryland.
I've talked to farmers in Maryland.
I've met with business owners in Maryland.
And they want us to do something about the cost
of living that is harming their businesses
and that is really driving up people's ability to afford.
A lot of college students came out tonight saying
that they recognize this is a roommate
economy where no one can afford to live alone.
They recognize that there's something wrong with that.
But interestingly enough.
As many Americans or more tonight in exit polling said, corruption.
They recognize that not only are they suffering,
but this president has lined his pockets,
lined the pockets of his allies, and that this Republican Congress
has done nothing about it, that they have been complicit in it.
And so corruption and the cost of living
are so far dominating the night,
and they can expect the Democrats to get the message loud and clear.
We're not going back to where we were.
No one wants the status quo. We need a new approach.
To making sure that people all across the spectrum,
from the middle of, from working
class families, to everyone can do better.
Senator, thank you.
Thank you.
