Things are picking up fast... Multiple Red Wings Trades INCOMING | Red Wings News
1 Video View·Nov 3, 2026
Things are picking up very quickly
for the Detroit Red Wings as multiple NHL insiders have
revealed multiple trade offers on the table
for the Red Wings with both Simon Edmondson and Dylan
Larkin. We're going to break down exactly what
these trade reports are saying, how this affects
the Red Wings long term, and much more as multiple moves
are on the way for this Red Wings team. And
we also get a Red Wings legend speaking out on Simon Edmondson
and how crazy this situation has
turned into be. We're going to break that all down
and much more in this episode of Red Wings
Digest. But guys, before we jump into all of that,
a quick reminder to hit that subscribe button.
We've noticed that about 85% of you guys
who watch these videos are not subscribed to the
channel. So if you want to stay up to date
with everything that's happening with the Red Wings,
and this one is going to be a loaded one,
we're keeping you guys up to date every single day
with everything that's going down
because it's been a wild ride since the summer.
All right, let's get into it.
There's multiple trade talks going on right now.
Now, Danil Yurov is in Dylan Larkin trade talks.
So you can see this from Elliot Friedman.
The Minnesota Wild are believed to have offered Danil Yurov
and multiple first round picks for Dylan Larkin.
Now, we know that the Red Wings in return for Dylan Larkin
would like some center help, some younger center help.
I don't know if Yurov moves the needle.
I'm curious for your thoughts, Mark.
And then obviously they don't want that many futures,
but multiple first round picks.
The Wilds are going to be a good team, presumably a good team.
We have no idea what's happening with Quinn Hughes.
But if the Red Wings believe in Yurov,
this could come down to it being in the Red Wings' court,
the ball being in their court.
He's a pretty good young center.
One thing that I did want to bring up is that a lot
of his goals actually come off of one-timers.
So I don't know if he's actually just...
I don't know if he necessarily creates, which is something that,
you know, you can't really stick him with the brinket in that way
because the brink is that finisher. Right.
So I thought that was pretty interesting.
But Mark, do you have any thoughts on that?
Because it just seems like they are kicking tires on a lot.
I don't know if they're necessarily in a rush right now
because he's sitting at home and he's not getting paid.
But there's a lot going on. We have other reports.
We have another team that wants to be involved that may necessarily
not necessarily even end up with Dylan Larkin.
So we'll get into that in a second, too.
Does this guy move the needle?
I mean, looking at this, it seems like a bidding war is starting.
We see him coming out from Shanghai with the San Jose Sharks,
speaking on the fact that they're offering Keaton Verhoff,
they're offering Philip Bystead.
There's multiple names coming out,
but with Yurov, it's super interesting.
Listen, if you're looking at someone from overseas with a one-timer,
Ovi in the making, of course, this guy
is not going to be anything close to that.
But looking at the offers coming through,
I think it's going to come down to
if the Red Wings are fine with taking those futures.
Of course, Yoroff is not going to...
I'm not going to step.
into this lineup and be a 1C immediately.
This is a guy that's still getting used to North American ice,
getting used to being a full-time NHL player,
and someone that wants to be a star player.
You're lucky to have multiple picks coming back,
and I know the Red Wings are hung up on getting current players,
players that can step into this lineup immediately.
But, Darius, we've spoke a bunch about it.
You can flip assets to get other players.
It's not like you only get three phones a year and you make that call,
you make the trade, you can't make another one.
But that's what this organization feels like.
Feels like they're running with it right now.
But with Yurov, a young player that can play in the middle,
I'm super intrigued by him.
I don't think he fills the void in that top six immediately,
but a young player, like I said, that has a lot of room to grow
and the Wild organization value him highly.
So clearly there's something there with this kid brewing.
I think there is a little bit of, you know,
a narrative brewing through the media too,
that, oh, the Wild love him so much.
Kind of like you mentioned, that kind of lends to the fact of,
Please trade for him.
Please accept this trade.
And like you said, there could be a bidding war right now.
I do want to bring it to this report, too.
Ellie Freeman on 32 Thoughts and Larkin.
I did mention Larkin on Saturday night.
I heard that there was rumblings that he was going
to change up his no-trade list, potentially.
As we record this late Sunday night, I haven't heard anything yet.
So now there's now, you know,
rumors of him potentially trading up the trade list.
And one team that we heard was really involved
and really wanted him was the Philadelphia Flyers.
Now, we heard that he does not want to go to Philly.
But Philly apparently would be willing
to act as a third-party broker to eat money
and get some type of asset from another team if, let's say,
the Wild want to make it work or another team want to make it work.
And Philadelphia would be willing to absorb Marco Trennan's contract.
For the right price.
So a lot of teams are,
you know,
firing it out there in the media.
Like,
Hey,
we'd be involved in some way.
If you need help,
we'll help you kind of thing.
If we get assets in return,
another team that was included in all this market.
I want your thoughts on this too.
St.
Louis blues,
but Dylan Larkin does not want to go play for the Blues,
but there's teams that are interested in him.
That would pay big packages right now for this player.
And he doesn't want to go there.
So now the Red Wings are kind of going back and forth between a couple
of teams that,
you know,
they can actually trade and make the trade with on the eight or 10
team list.
And.
You know, they're having a hard time doing that or at least deciding
in terms of what these teams are giving them.
So do you have any thoughts on these teams?
The Flyers are like just poking around right now.
They're like, do we have Dylan Larkin?
No, he doesn't want to play here.
OK, well, we're still in.
We're still in.
Like, well, we'll help somebody else out with that.
We want something in return of this situation.
So they've been very active as well.
With him looking at reportedly expanding that list,
I think it's only a matter of time before one of those teams step in
and have the exact package that maybe Detroit
is willing to accept at this point.
And again, looking at the initial teams,
we've spoke about it way too much,
about him putting teams that are almost impossible to trade.
The Florida Panthers wouldn't be able to do it.
We know the Vegas Golden Knights would have a hard time doing it.
The Minnesota Wild have been this since day one,
but I think with this and Larkin and his camp,
it's only a matter of time before maybe
two or three more teams are added.
Maybe the Montreal Canadiens are a team if that's...
Added to the list, it almost feels like
that will be an immediate trade.
But maybe this on the other side is other teams get involved.
The Wild start to kind of go like, gulp, I need to make this move.
Maybe we need to add those extra assets.
And I do think there's a bit of media working with this where Dylan
Larkin and his camp might say, hey, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
We'll totally go to these other three teams.
Then that second offer from the Wild comes through
and that's an immediate package maybe they accept.
Yeah, there's one other report I want to get to quickly too before.
Um, you know, great points on Minnesota Wild too,
but you know, before we get into, uh,
Simon Edvinsson, cause we have to touch on that as well.
Elliot Friedman did say that somebody said
to me the other day that he could actually
see from a pure hockey point of view,
Dylan Larkin for Nikita Kucherov, which we talked
about the other day as well.
I'm not sure that one gets done.
So we'll, we'll keep tabs on it,
but I don't think that that is, uh, happening.
And I don't think that Tampa has, uh, you know.
I don't know if Detroit's on that list, right?
So we can just talk about that till we're blue in the face,
but I just don't know.
But Simon Edvinsson.
Throwing a lot of trade interest and his preference is still
to be traded, which is obviously not ideal for the Detroit Red Wings.
Now, we've heard this morning from David Panjota
that the Leafs are heavily involved in trade talks
with the Detroit Red Wings for his services.
They desperately need a defenseman
and they're talking trade with the Red Wings on this player.
Now, Seattle is also poked around on Simon Edvinsson, but it sounds
like Vince Dunn wants to stay in Seattle and that might not get done
because it seems like it would have been like, hey, we move Vince Dunn.
We bring in Simon Edvinsson type of deal.
You know, I'm sure that one even gets done.
But like you mentioned earlier, Mark, the Sharks are involved.
Philly's also involved in that one as well.
There's a lot of teams that are still involved.
And you can see some of the teams that have looked pretty intently
are San Jose, Seattle, Nashville, Boston.
And now we know that the Leafs.
as well and this is just what he knows too
and again David Panjota, a different insider was uh you
know reporting on Toronto so what
do you think happens here is there a team that you're like
yeah that makes a lot of sense you can get
a good package here I mean the San Jose one is very
enticing we talked about that in a video yesterday uh
with you know you mentioned earlier you know
Keaton Verhoff who was just drafted
and a couple other you know really good young pieces too
do you think he stays do you think he goes Nick
Lichten talked about it too I want to get to that
too but what do you think because I still I think this ends in a trade
It feels like at the end of this,
we're going to be less than a month out by the time you're
watching this from when they need to sign this guy to a contract
or he cannot play hockey this year.
So like I said, to start this video,
you're getting the offers coming through Dylan Larkin,
you're getting your offer and multiple first round picks
for Simon Edvinson. If you accept the offer
of Keane Verhoff, who was drafted in the top 10 this past draft,
plus another young piece,
Maybe a prospect.
This is a team that could legitimately right the ship,
getting multiple guys, young players,
getting those extra picks.
If you don't want to draft with those first
because you feel like they'll be in the mid-20s,
then okay, you take that and immediately flip it
for a player that can play now.
There's a lot of teams looking to sell Darius.
It feels like this is a team that has the opportunity,
no matter how much they screwed up
this entire start of the season,
when it comes to free agency,
when it comes to not trading their former captain,
when it comes to not even getting this guy signed,
Have the opportunity to right the ship with this.
Again, it feels like they're working, and pardon my language,
ass backwards when it comes to every single decision
that they're trying to make within this team.
But going in on this, with the team starting the offers
on Simon Edvinsson, back to your original question,
I do sadly think this is a guy that's going to be gone,
but there's a lot of teams in on him.
This could legitimately become a bidding war,
especially when you start inching closer to December.
And genuinely, if you're already getting offers like
the report of Keaton Verhoff won,
There's going to be some great packages coming through.
Yeah, that was a good package.
And we have no idea what the other teams, exactly, right?
We have no idea what the other teams are putting together right now.
So there could be some good packages on the table.
We'll see what happens.
You know, Nick Lidstrom spoke out in an NHL, a Swedish podcast,
and he said that discussions are taking place with his representatives.
That's all I can say.
And then he also added that, you know, they want to,
and I'll make this bigger for you guys to see here,
they want to, you know, sign him.
He's a big, tall guy that they drafted, extremely good on his skates,
can play against anyone.
Like, he's a top-pairing defenseman is basically what he's saying.
Sean Horkoff, our GM,
is doing everything that he can to get him signed.
Well, you screwed it up from the beginning because he would have signed
if you got this done on the first day, which you could have.
I mean, so easy.
You could have just signed the contract.
This should be done.
But the organization wanted to sign him
for like $6 million less than what he's actually
worth.
It's unbelievable, but not that much.
I'm exaggerating a little bit,
but something in and around that area.
But last thing here, Mark, before we wrap up,
it looks like Danielson's going to be coming
out of the lineup.
A lot of fans not happy about that.
Daniil Tarasov is going to be getting the start
heading into the next game.
He's actually been very good this season.
So, you know, he's completely fresh.
He hasn't played in a while.
There was an injury mixed in there,
obviously with Bobovnov coming up from the AHL.
Yeah, I wanted to mention from Morning Skate,
it looks like Danielson coming out
and John Leonard will be going in.
So do you have any final thoughts on this
before we wrap up?
Because again, like fans,
if you look at social media,
people are not happy about this.
And I think Danielson's like been playing okay
as he's been lights out
and a huge needle mover difference maker
for this team, not necessarily,
but I think he's been okay.
And I think that's the thing, too.
This is a young team.
When you're looking throughout the lineup,
there's a lot of either first-year guys,
guys with three less years of experience than some others.
But I'm shocked with him coming out of the lineup.
Now, of course, I'm not an NHL coach.
Maybe there's something under the hood.
But at the end of this, if you're a team battling
and you have a young guy getting some confidence,
don't take him out of the lineup.
But again, listen, Todd's the coach.
So maybe this is the big grand scheme of things.
And I've seen some people speculate maybe this is a trade.
Don't see that happening, especially with a young guy
trying to find his footing into this team.
But again, looking at the roster, why not ride this out
and just try to get him to that full confidence?
And heading into the next game, penalty kill, horrible.
Power play, middle of the pack.
Got to start picking that up as well,
because last year power play was really good for this team.
5-on-5 play wasn't.
But if the power play takes a step back,
but 5-on-5 is a little bit better, I guess I'll take that too.
But I had it up there in the standings a second ago too.
They're not out of it, man.
Nobody's out of it in the Atlantic division.
This division is absolutely insane.
These are just the divisional standings.
The Red Wings are last, but like not by a lot.
I mean, you win a couple of games
and you're in a playoff spot,
not even a playoff spot.
You're close to first in the division, right?
So they can put some games together here.
Also, there's a couple of teams in there
that have played more games than the Red Wings as well.
So especially the Toronto Maple Leafs, for example,
but they, you know, they're not out of it whatsoever.
So guys, let us know in the comments
how you feel about everything we discussed today.
Dylan Larkin.
Looks like they're taking their time with it,
but a big package could be on the way.
And it looks like Simon Evans in that whole situation
is unfortunately going to end in a trade.
