Let's talk about that Falcons game over the weekend against Tampa Bay.
Did you see it?
And just the driving rain out there.
These players practice for everything.
Rain, snow, beautiful weather.
But the Falcons lost to Tampa Bay, and now the team's packing its bags,
headed across the pond to Madrid for week nine of the showdown.
That guy there, B. Rich, the water boy,
is here to break it all down with us.
Yes.
Um,
Well, all right, so the Falcons took a tough loss.
I don't know if it was the weather down in Tampa Bay
or if the Bucs are just a stronger team than the Falcons,
but you beat an undefeated San Francisco,
and then you go down to Tampa and you get your butt kicked down there.
What happened?
My partner, he's not here.
He had to build an ark on the way back.
He's coming back as we speak on the ark that he built.
Man, the rain is what happened, man.
The Falcons wasn't built for that, man.
It was so much rain.
All my years of watching football,
I've never seen so much rain come down.
We didn't have good footing.
We got off to a bad start by turning the ball over.
Tampa had, I'm going to tell you the truth,
Tampa Bay in the trenches, the line,
the defense and the offensive line.
They just outplayed us, man, on that,
and we couldn't recover from that,
and we just got beat in the trenches.
But don't worry.
Just chalk this up, man.
It was a bad-weather game.
The Falcons aren't built for that.
We'll be all right.
Let's talk about Michael Penix Jr.
Thank
You know, Tampa topped off four interceptions for Penix.
So is that the Penix we've known from this season,
or was, in your judgment, was that like a complete anomaly?
It was an anomaly.
Let me tell you how much of an anomaly it was.
Baker Mayfield only threw three passes.
you.
None of them was completed.
That hasn't been done since 1974.
So that goes to show you how bad it was out there.
He threw three passes, none completions.
They won the game strictly off running the ball.
So, yeah, you have to realize in a monsoon that that was.
Gripping the ball.
They had so many slips and turnovers.
And, you know, it's almost impossible to throw in sheets of weather.
They're going, go out there, go out there in the shower right now
and try to throw a ball.
It's not going to work.
So don't blame Phoenix for this loss.
I know a lot of people are.
It just was a bad weather game.
We're going to bounce back.
Don't worry about that.
Rich, you're going to have some fans out there that are going to say,
come on, cry me a river, all right?
Tampa Bay managed to pull it off in the rain.
What was the Falcons' problem?
Well, I mean, like I said earlier, you're right.
A lot of people have ripped me for what I'm saying.
Like I said, Tampa Bay, they won in the trenches.
They had better defensive line,
better offensive line play than what we did.
That's all that happened, man.
It was a monsoon.
Don't worry about it like I keep saying.
They played in the same weather and elements as we did.
They just won in the trenches, and we didn't.
All right, let's talk about the Falcons going to Madrid.
First of all, I want you to explain to those who are watching
this afternoon why the NFL is placing such an emphasis on playing.
I mean, they not only play in Madrid, they play in London.
I believe they play in Germany.
They play in all kinds of places over there.
So now the team is headed over to Spain.
They're going to face the 5-2 Bengals over there.
So what do we do to sort of regroup, retool?
We're playing in foreign territory.
Both teams are.
You've got to battle things like jet lag.
And going to Europe, by the way, is tougher than coming home.
Well, we're going to Madrid.
You know the NFL is all about the dollars
and getting more exposure to the brand.
It's going to be tough, man.
Both teams have to go through the same conditions.
All we need to do is just focus, focus, focus.
Bajon needs to come through.
Penix needs to bounce back and do what he needs to do.
Our defense, I'm not mad at our defense.
Our defense is going to bounce back.
When you're playing in weather like you did,
the offense has an advantage,
so our defense really couldn't get traction in that.
You never know where someone's going to go.
In Madrid, we have to get that what happened last week out of our mind.
We have to go there and just play
the Falcon football that we know we can play.
It's going to be a tough game, and we should pull it out.
All right.
Well, we're going to be watching.
That's going to be on at a weird time, too, isn't it?
I mean.
In the morning, yeah, early in the morning.
I mean, what, like 9 in the morning
they're going to be playing, I think.
Yeah, I think that's the time.
I can't confirm with you, but it will be 9,
8 in the morning, something like that.
All right.
What do you think of these games over in Europe?
Do you like the fact that the NFL is trying
to get folks over there enthused about football?
They are.
They love it.
I like the fact that we are expanding,
but for me, I like my 1 o'clock games,
my 4 o'clock games, my Sunday night games.
I don't like these early morning games, personally.
Well, we won't ask you to do any serenading this afternoon.
Hold on, hold on. I got one.
Oh, you do? Oh, let's have it. Let's have it.
I'm going to be short now. Please forgive me.
Roses are red and violets are blue.
Cincinnati Bengals, welcome to Madrid.
The Falcons got a loss waiting for you.
Ah, true.
Trey's got nothing on you, B. Rich.

B. Rich, thanks for hanging with us this afternoon solo.
Thank
We're going to be watching the Falcons as they progress.
We're going to be focused on Madrid,
see if they can turn things around,
and we'll see both of you again here on Friday.
Thanks so much for being with us.
You should see an arc pulling up in Atlanta
that Trey built in a minute, man,
coming back from all that weather.
I don't know whether...
Drying himself off, right?
All right.
you.
B. Rich, thanks.
