Well, welcome back.
New this morning, the Kraken are giving fans a new look
at the Pacific Northwest with their brand new hometown remix jersey.
The new design debuts this Thursday against Calgary
and here to break it all down for us
and the design secrets, the inspiration, and when you can get
your hands on the gear is Kraken spokesperson Chase Johnson.
Thank you so much for being here.
And we have a special guest as well here with you today.
Whoa.
Hey, we got.
Bowie, Bowie is in the house.
High five here.
As always.
Woo, that's a strong high five.
We are very excited to be here and
have Bowie rocking the new threads.
It has been a, absolutely,
we have a gift for you as well.
My goodness.
That is just for you.
Look at that, woo.
So this is our new hometown remix jersey.
We've been working on it here.
It's our sixth jersey in six seasons,
and truthfully, I couldn't be more excited.
Okay, so tell us how you keep this under wraps,
how you keep it hidden, how people don't find
out about it, and the inspiration with it.
Absolutely.
In this jersey, we really wanted this to be Seattle in every stitch.
The design details have been in the works since April 2025.
There's truly a lot of homages to this,
not only the city, but the entire Pacific Northwest.
One piece that I want to start with right away is the anchor.
The fans have been talking since the very beginning.
They've been wanting it.
It's always lived up on our shoulder,
and this is the moment that we decided to put
it front and center on our crest.
We absolutely love it.
It has a scrimshaw element
and component to it as well that honors our maritime roots.
And again, a new number of
Number and letter way, which is very cool.
We brought back the cream color as well,
which if you remember the 2024 winter classic game
we played, we brought that back
and we think that it leads to a very clean cut, but still
very northwest design, very northwest.
So I mean, it takes some time to do this, right?
Absolutely.
And the fans scream for this kind of stuff for sure,
especially when Bowie is demonstrating
here is a little fashionista outfit.
I like it.
What what goes into really
the thoughts deep down behind getting this to be unique to set
yourself aside.
Thank you.
Other teams in the NHL,
even though they do similar things like this as well.
Absolutely.
I mean, one of the things that I love about
the Kraken brand, the story really started
always being in our Northwest waters.
And we wanted to honor that in this jersey.
So again, starting with the anchor,
even the sleeves that we have, we have these wonderful
Bowie, if you could model the Puget Sound sleeves where they have
the ocean and then Mount Rainier
and the Olympics element as well.
We also have on the back hem a rhododendrons honoring
the official Washington State flower
as well.
Anyways.
It's really head to toe again.
Seattle and every stitch was the motto
and anchored in the northwest is the philosophy
on this one.
It was a tough one to keep under wraps
because we know the fans are going to be excited to
see this crest on the front, but we've made it.
We're here and Bowie's doing a wonderful job modeling.
And you have some partnerships with this.
I see a nice little logo on here.
How fun is it to partner with the Muckleshoot Tribe?
It is wonderful.
They are a fantastic partner for us and also just.
Their crest design is incredible, so it just fits right
on in with this current one, and we're very lucky to have them.
And how long does something like this go into the works?
I mean, I know you start talking about it every year.
You guys have lots of designs
and special features with artists around here.
What goes into the length behind that time frame?
Absolutely. It's very intentional.
This process started back in April 2022 with both NHL and Fanatics.
So it was a big moment for us,
and we wanted to nail it from the jump in honoring the city.
And it was tough to narrow down.
We have so many incredible elements that lit
That we wanted to honor so it was tough to choose
but we feel like comprehensively this
is this is the story we wanted to tell and we can't be.
More excited, again, we have our first game
that we're playing it here on Wednesday,
November 4th, so it's a quick turn.
We think that the fans are going to really love seeing it in a ring.
Okay, is that against Calgary?
Yes, it is, so it's coming right on up.
I think that these uniforms look so amazing
because they complement Bowie, right?
Yeah, absolutely.
Don't they complement the colors there?
I mean, what's not to love?
Okay, what else do you want people to know
if they haven't been to a Kraken game?
Like myself, I watch it all the time.
I haven't been to one in the Climate Pledge.
I cannot believe it.
No.
Well, first off, it's worth knowing Bowie
is one of our absolute stars of the show.
The in arena atmosphere truly is,
it's unlike almost anywhere else I've ever been.
We really pride ourselves on an incredible
in game experience with epic video.
And if you haven't had the chance
to experience hockey before, you're gonna see it.
The hits just hit harder when you're in arena, a Climate Pledge Arena.
We call it the deep is our mantra for Climate Pledge.
Cuz when you step inside between the incredible,
the noise of the crowd, Bowie descending from
the rafters.
Pretty incredible experience and again,
We've got to get you to a game that I know we're going to make.
We're going to do it.
Talk about the hometown remix nights.
We just got a little bit of a graphic
on what that entails besides this jersey.
Absolutely.
So again, this is a jersey not just for Seattle,
but for the entire Pacific Northwest.
We really wanted to honor different communities.
So we're going to be starting with a Seattle
night specific, but then we're going to jump
over to the east side.
We're going to go to the South Sound.
We're going to be jumping over to Eastern Washington.
Each of those nights are going to have specific elements
and components that we really want
to honor those fans when we have the largest market in the NHL.
So fans coming and getting to experience the game and
homages to them, we really wanted to make happen.
Okay, and when can the fans get this again?
So 8 AM live, you can grab it right now.
It's available at all of our Kraken team stores and
seattlehockeyteamstore.com.
Chase and Bowie, thank you so much for being here today.
This was a treat and I'm gonna get to a game.
I'm gonna wear my jersey.
You're gonna have your jersey now.
I'm gonna be going for the Kraken.
I love it. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much.
Appreciate it.
All right,
let's get over to Brian McMillan with the forecast for tonight.
I've been waiting for those, Drew.
That's so cool.
They look so great.
Oh, great job, guys.
All right.
Let's get over to our Gold Mountain camera,
and I've got to bring my buddy in for this
because it's so good to see you all.
Ha, ha, ha.
It's been so long.
It's so good to see you, bud.
Hey, look at this sunshine.
Look how golden that is out there from our Gold Mountain camera.
It's cold this morning, but you like that, right?
You're all about it.
Yes, all about being cold, and that's what it is right now.
There it is, 35 in Bellingham, 39 in Seattle, 40 in Everett.
And this has been one of our coolest mornings that we've had.
We've had here in quite some time, Bowie.
Oh, my God, Joey.
Get him.
Let's make it stop raining.
It's an Aaron Bowie sandwich, I love it.
I mean, I like it.
All right, morning fog and then a mostly cloudy afternoon,
but we're going to stay dry today.
You know, we've got coming up here tonight, right?
We got big, yeah, we got some Monday night football going on tonight.
And so we're going to stay dry for that.
That'll be good for everybody that's not undercover.
But we do have rain coming Wednesday night,
Thursday, and then again on.
Friday, okay?
And then east of the Cascades out in Spokane,
we're at 49 degrees there today.
Portland, 53, and Eugene, 53.
Everybody stays dry.
All right, Bowie, I want you to pick
your favorite day in the seven-day forecast, okay?
We got some cool mornings some days.
We got some rain.
We got a stormy day on Friday coming at us.
Of course, I knew you were going to pick that one.
Wednesday, the Kraken playing at home here.
We'll have some evening showers for that one.
It's so good to see you, my friend.
Yes.
Oh, thanks for coming and stopping by.
It's Bowie, ladies and gentlemen.
All right, let's send it to Adam now.
He's got to check on the roads.
Excellent.
