Yeah, if you don't know what to do this weekend,
we have some great ideas for you and your family.
Erica Bigelow with Seattle's Child, or wait, what's your pirate name?
The Dread Pirate Erika is here
with Seattle Childs Magazine with all the details.
You look awesome today.
Thank you.
I love it.
It's so fun.
Thank you for getting festive.
Okay, so we're starting with an event that's all about
our furry friends and maybe our
feathered friends.
Yes.
This is Kevin.
So the first one, Halloween Doggy Parade.
And so more,
More friends, more animal friends.
And why should humans have all the fun, right?
So you can pull out your dog's costumes
and don't pretend you don't have several options.
And you can dress them up today
for a spooktacular doggy parade
at the High Point Community Center.
So the event's starting at 10 with judges and prizes.
They've got free coffee there.
You can check their Facebook for details.
Just make sure your dog is on a leash.
Very cute.
Okay, I love dressed up dogs.
Also, a local fire department is giving tours today.
Yes, and this is awesome.
So Fire Station 16 in Renton
is holding an open house today from nine to 11.
Guests are going to be able to tour the station
and check out a classic fire engine.
They will also be able to try out various pieces of gear
and equipment. They can meet the fire chief
and station 16 firefighters, learn all about fire
safety and take home some fire station 16 swag.
So no RSVP is necessary. Parking is available on
site behind the station and it's free.
I love that.
Okay, what's happening at Seattle Center?
Dia de Muertos.
So this is one of the festivals happening.
This one at the Seattle Center Armory Food and Event Hall.
It's happening all weekend long.
Part of their Center Festall series.
And it's a free festival, open to everyone.
You can enjoy live dance and music performances.
They've got elaborate altars, colorful face painting,
sugar skull workshops, and visual art.
You can go in there and you can build a skeleton,
make paper flowers, try your hand at tapete,
which is sand painting.
You can do some printmaking,
And much more happening all day today and tomorrow.
Great event for the entire family and, of course, free.
That's going to be awesome.
Okay, how about for those of us with, like, younger kids?
Maybe you know they're not going to last all night.
There's a trunk-or-treating event?
Yes, at Pacific Raceways in Kent.
So all ghouls and goblins in every costume you can think of,
they invite you to a haunting race car show and a trunk-or-treat today.
So the event features optional adventures around
their road course of doom.
And there's vendors from near and far.
We'll
both kids and adults, they've got a
really cool
car show they have on the
track.
little goose bumps from a little bit of a scary story.
So you can put on your Halloween costumes
and enjoy rhymes and songs and books
featuring pumpkins, bats, ghosts, and more.
This is happening at the White Center Library today at 11:30.
This is not too spooky, by the way.
This is very mild.
Then you can take part in a fun costume parade
and you get to trick or treat around the library.
Super duper cute.
That is so cute.
You should head over there for sure.
Free event.
Libraries are the best.
I love that there's so many options for us
to just put our costumes on like right now.
Like right now.
And then just get out and you can just
be in your costume the rest of the day.
Wait, okay, what's your pirate name again?
I think the Dread Pirate Erica.
The Dread Pirate Erica.
Dread Pirate Erica, thank you so much for coming on today.
You're so welcome.
Happy Halloween.
Happy Halloween.
We're gonna have a link to all of those up
on our website, fox13seattle.com.
