Good morning, you guys.
I have never.
Oh my gosh!
Okay, I've never seen anything like this.
The water is so high.
It feels like I'm at the beach right now
and there's literally waves happening
and it just completely soaked my feet.
We are here at the corner of New Haven
and I believe we're off of US 192 right now.
They're blocking this off.
You can't even get to, wow, I'm gonna step away.
Where you can get, turn around right over here,
Langston, if you can, and show everybody this BMW,
this gold BMW.
The water is about to pass the wheels.
Right next to it is a police car that also, same situation.
And if we go back to US-192, first of all,
there's a woman who's trying to walk through the street.
That's very brave.
It was past her knees before she made it to some safety.
Over to the left, I can't even count.
There's probably a dozen cars that look like they're stranded.
Look at the city bus.
Can you see that?
I know that there's a ton of stuff.
blocking you. I'm sorry this is really
chaotic guys. I'm just kind of reporting
off the fly as I see it. I've never seen
a bus drive through this deep of water.
I'm praying that there's no one on that bus
and everyone is okay and no one gets stuck here.
We have police that have been diverting people
but as you can see to my left there's a police car
that is stuck here. This bus, everybody take a look,
it's trying to go through this water.
Thankfully it's making it okay.
It looks like the deepest part is closer to me.
You guys have you ever seen waves like this when it's
not a hurricane on the on the corner of a street right here?
I mean, this is just absolutely nuts here
More trucks that are going by there's been cones have been placed
and then you can't really see it from our vantage point
but to the right kind of behind us there are
Street crews that are in their vests and they're guiding people out
this truck. I don't know if they're stuck or what's happening here and
But there's a lot that's going on.
You can hear sirens from police officers trying to warn people
because people are still trying to drive through.
I mean, you're watching live this small white car right here
that's trying to drive through.
Thankfully, they're on the side where it's not as deep,
but the lane closest to me is, it's got to be.
Two feet of water. I mean, probably three feet.
I mean, it's pretty, pretty bad here.
Thank you for being here.
Yeah, you guys do not try to drive right now.
If you already missed it, your kids don't have
school today. Call your bosses,
let them know that you can't get to work safely because you
do not want to get stuck out here.
If you can't tell how deep the water is, turn around, don't
drown. I know that's a cheesy saying and we say it a lot,
but it's so true and it saves lives.
So please make sure that if you are coming out here today
in this area, that you do not drive over here.
It looks like a tow truck I can see down the way
is already coming to potentially help some of these people.
Again, I can't even count, probably more than 10 or 12
are stranded over here.
We're gonna send these back to you guys for now.
I'm a little speechless at how crazy the flooding is
in the area that we are here.
So thankfully we're safe.
We're on higher ground near
a gas station just thinking about all these folks in their cars
praying for them and hopefully we'll have
some positive updates for you guys soon.
