It may look like a home-cooked meal,
but these dishes are made differently.
Textured Food Innovations in Coral Place creates meals for people
who have trouble swallowing
without losing the look of the foods they love.
So we have food that's real food and it looks good
and it tastes good and it's just a wow, that's it.
Three Long Island speech-language pathologists started the business
after seeing patients struggle with unrecognizable food.
In the kitchen, the team uses
a special process to transform everyday foods
into meals that look familiar.
To make it look like this, you know, we cook it.
Puree it, get it to the consistency that we need to,
and, you know, mold it and do what we need to do.
Jerry Weir of Westbury lost his ability
to swallow after a second stroke in 2025.

The founders hope these meals will help more people enjoy food
with comfort and dignity.
This is something that we feel more people need to know about
because they don't know it's available.
And it can make a difference in people's lives
to be able to eat food that they really want to enjoy
and help them on their journey
to eating regular food perhaps at some point.
That's exactly what we do, why we do what we do.
It's just, we can all cry.
From joy, right?
This is our passion.
