Denver Broncos Trade News Just Took a MAJOR TURN...

Oh, the NFL trade rumors around your Broncos are absolutely heating up.
Some would even say it is getting spicy
because your Broncos are overachieving in every single
metric.
Here they are at five wins,
despite playing the toughest defenses in the league, despite
having the toughest start of the schedule in the NFL at five wins.
They're already way ahead of schedule.
And Sean Payton and George Payton know
that this is a Super Bowl window.
This is the time to be aggressive and double down
and to get value when you can, because
you only have Bo Nix on his rookie contract one time
in his entire career, and it is now.
And so we're reading through the tea leaves,
what's actual smoke and just rumors and innuendo
and what's actual possible.
We're breaking it all down here.
So starting off, there's a lot
of speculation going on right now with RJ Harvey.
We know he's the Broncos leading receiver,
but we know he was kind of Davis Webb's play
toy.
Davis Webb loved him and used him a lot more than Sean Payton has.
And RJ Harvey, despite like being healthy after
that game that we played against the Cardinals
and actually not having a ton of touches in that game,
he pops up on this injury report and he's at some of practice.
He leaves some of practice.
And so people are wondering, is he maybe somehow involved in a Broncos
trade, which we're going to talk about here in just a second.
But it's interesting to me that Sean Payton did
not even address the injury whatsoever.
Didn't say how it happened, when it happened, just that like sometime
at a practice on Thursday, he gets hurt a lot of times.
That is what's happening when a player is involved in a trade.
So let's talk through that.
A lot of Broncos country are pounding the table
that the Broncos should go out and get
Jonathan Taylor.
For the first time, Adam Schefter, Tom Pelissero,
actual people who know things, not just rampant
Twitter profiles, are saying
that the Broncos have indeed called about Jonathan Taylor.
But the crazy thing with Jonathan Taylor,
the Indianapolis Colts have already turned
down a ton for him.
So they have already been offered
by at least one team a 2027 second round draft pick.
And an additional pick.
So that is a lot of draft capital to be offering up to Jonathan Taylor.
And that is one of the reasons I think
the Broncos are not actually one of the teams
in here.
But what I think is happening is they're throwing
their names in there to kind of hear about
what the actual what it actually
is going to cost to get a running back.
And I'm going to tell you who I think they're getting in a second.
But again, everyone and their mom is throwing
the name Denver Broncos in there now.
We know with Indianapolis Colts, both of their prior trades,
they both were out of the conference.
So they traded DeForest Buckner, obviously,
to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC.
They traded Quentin Nelson to the Seahawks,
obviously, in the NFC as well.
And so I think if it's an equal trade package between us
and the Seahawks, the Vikings or the Packers, the Giants,
they're obviously going to pick one
of those teams outside of the division.
But I don't think that is who the Broncos
are actually targeting in all of this.
Who had ever heard before the Broncos traded for him this offseason
that we even were involved in the Jalen Waddle sweepstakes?
Sean Payton moves in silence like the G in lasagna,
and you don't know what he's doing until
he tells you that's what he just did.
And so I think hearing our name
in there does not make me actually think
that the Broncos are actually involved in this whatsoever.
Now, there was a ton of smoke last night on X
because you saw Pat Sertan's dad, Pat Sertan I,
Put out the emoji, and so people were like, oh my goodness,
Pat Sertan knows that the Broncos are trading for Jonathan Taylor,
and he told his dad, and his dad tweeted that emoji,
but what actually ended up happening was that Pat Sertan's dad
is actually a huge fan of the Golden State Warriors and was live
tweeting when Steph Curry did this six step back over Luka Doncic
and tweeted that like, hey, Steph Curry's not here.
actual smoke or anything like that with regards to that.
But here's where I think there actually
is some smoke and it is not Jonathan Taylor.
It is actually Breece Hall. And I'm going to
weave this beautiful tapestry for you to show you
that the Broncos actually loved Breece Hall before
and tried to get him before.
And the Broncos could not be more connected to the Jets organization.
And that's a great thing for us.
So we know that it actually, the reason Breece Hall
on a franchise tag for a little bit before
his new deal was because we were going to target
Breece Hall and free agency this off season.
We were never in the Kenneth Walker sweepstakes.
We were in the Brees Hall sweepstakes
and we were in it so hard that the Jets were like,
Hey, we're going to lose this guy for nothing.
So we might as well franchise tag him. And so,
and, and that was reported widely
that the Broncos were going for Brees Hall.
And so the Jets were forced to use the franchise tag.
Even after that happened,
you had a ton of really plugged in Broncos media,
like Cody Rourke being like, Hey,
I wonder if the Broncos are actually working on a sign-and-trade deal
with Brees Hall and the Jets.
Now, the Broncos went on and actually re-signed J.K. Dobbins,
and so that is not how that actuated,
but I think you see the tea leaves here
that the Broncos loved Brees Hall,
and they also love Jonah Coleman, and they also love J.K. Dobbins,
and so they moved off of that.
But last year at the trade deadline,
the New York Jets wanted a third-round draft pick for Brees Hall.
All of the Kansas City Chiefs were willing
to give was a fourth round draft pick.
And so they ended up not moving him.
But that was the working price for Brees Hall before
the trade deadline last season.
And so when you're hearing that Jonathan Taylor
is going to be costing a second and maybe
a third, what the ultimately what
the Colts actually want is a first round draft pick.
You could get Brees Hall here for a third
or a fourth round draft pick, which I think
is just tremendous value.
The Broncos actually get a fourth round draft pick.
Just by the fact that John Franklin Myers went
and signed with the Tennessee Titans.
So this season, the Broncos get
a fourth round compensatory pick for him and a sixth round
compensatory pick for PJ Locke.
So the Broncos have picks to throw around.
And so you could add Brees Hall and assume his contract.
Now, in addition to that, it's not just
that the Broncos showed you with their actions
last season, they wanted Brees Hall.
It is also the fact that this is the franchise I think
the Broncos are closest linked to.
So Darren Mugie is...
is their GM, and he cut his teeth with the Denver Broncos.
He came up under Elway.
He was actually a scout for Elway's Super Bowl 50 team,
and so a really great player personnel guy.
But he also was the right-hand man of George Payton.
They are as thick as thieves and really good friends.
Darren Mugie came out and said that he,
and it's not just him and George Payton,
but that he was Sean Payton's sounding board.
And so you're talking about like Mugie could pick up the phone
and Sean Payton could pick up the phone.
And they're probably like saved as favorites in each other's phones.
Like that's how tight these dudes are.
So you got this close link here that he
was George Payton's second in command and he was
really good friends and he was Sean Payton's sounding board.
And that's part of why he got that job with the New York Jets.
It gets even deeper here.
So George Payton, when he was the GM of the Minnesota Vikings,
his second in command and
his like right hand man was this guy named Spielman.
Well, Darren Mugie is one of his first moves to hire at the Jets.
So you are now having George Payton's right hand man at both stops
connected there, but it gets even thicker as George Payton's nephew
is now Robbie Payton is actually also working for the New York Jets.
So you're talking about having actual family in this building.
And so if the Broncos want to make a move, family,
we know is family ties are legit and huge. And so I think
that Broncos showed that they were interested in Bryce Hall before.
George Payton's nephew works there
and his two best friends from other stops along his career
work there. And you know,
Darren Mujilo loves the Denver Broncos and there's not like a weird
rivalry with the Jets. The Jets are obviously in a rebuild mode here.
They need to go out and get a
new quarterback and it's going
to be years before they can compete. Now, here's why you should lose
your ever loving mind about it.
I would take Brees Hall over Jonathan Taylor every single day of the
week and I would do it twice on Sunday.
Like this is a brilliant move for the Broncos on a number
Number of reasons.
All right.
So look at.
First off, all that the Broncos have already put
into the running back position, it has
been.
wild here that the even going back like
to Bo Nix's rookie year that the Broncos used a fifth
round draft pick on Audrick Estime. They cut ties with him.
They used a second round draft pick on
RJ Harvey. They used a fourth round draft pick on Jonah Coleman.
So the Broncos have already
invested all of this in the running back position.
So to then throw multiple picks for Jonathan
Taylor just does not seem smart.
And then in addition to it, you just look at all of the
money that we have committed
to the running back position because of JK Dobbins. So
Not to use the spent money fallacy that like,
hey, because we already spent this money,
we can't make another smart move.
But the fact of the matter is the Broncos have overcommitted
to the running back position.
And so the more talent you can bring
in for the less assets is definitely the best move.
But on top of that, it gets even more indisputable
that Jonathan Taylor is not the answer for
the Denver Broncos.
So I went back and looked at all of their carries
for Brees Hall when he was at Iowa
State.
Jonathan Taylor, when he was with the Wisconsin Badgers,
a running back's body can only take
so many carries.
And Jonathan Taylor's body has already taken almost double
the number of total carries
in the NFL and in the college game that Brees Hall has,
and he's two years older.
So looking here, so you look here in college
with the Wisconsin Badgers, a way more physical
run style.
You're going up against like Big Ten defenses
there versus going Iowa State, who doesn't
play the same type of, you're looking first year at Wisconsin.
300 carries to 186 carries for Bryce Hall.
You look at his second year, 307 to 279.
His third year.
Uh, 320 to 253.
And then you look at Bryce Hall having two extra years
in the NFL amounting to 600 extra
carries on his body.
And then every single year in the NFL,
he has had a ton more carries than Bryce Hall
other than in 2023.
And so to pay less for Bryce Hall
and you get way more runway out of him at least two
extra years.
But then like how many years is this extra amount
of carries going to actually equate
to Jonathan Taylor?
The running back position in my estimation
is the one that gets oldest, the fastest and
a really cool website out there that actually shows
the peak age of NFL running backs.
And you're looking at the peak age
of an NFL running back is twenty five point four
six.
So twenty five and a half is the peak age.
So he's already way, way past that.
And you're just seeing every year in the NFL.
So Jonathan Taylor already being at twenty seven,
the chances of him having a peak year
are just dropping off of a cliff.
And knowing that next year we'd
also need him to be good and we'd need him to be good
the year after, he becomes more and more of an outlier.
And I just think Melvin Gordon,
no one lost their mind about how excited they were to
have Melvin Gordon more than me.
Well, we saw how fast he got old in a hurry.
We saw Monte Ball get old in a hurry.
We saw, obviously, Jamal Charles was a Bronco for a hot second there.
And it's like, man, the running back position just does not age well.
And so to be able to have a 25-year-old right now instead
of a 27-year-old who's going to
be 28 next season, it just makes a ton of sense.
And then when you actually look at it
from a statistical standpoint and you go back to
2024, 25.
The difference between these dudes just is not that great.
And especially when you consider all
of the pro bowlers and all pros that
Jonathan Taylor got to play behind versus Breece Hall,
who's never been in a competent offense
like he is for the Denver Broncos.
So you got family in the jets organization.
You have the fact that the trade price
is like a third or a fourth round draft
pick versus a first or a second round draft pick and even more.
And so I just think it makes absolute sense
that the Denver Broncos actually
target Breece Hall.
On top of that, you are seeing signs from Brees Hall
and his camp that things are changing
quickly there.
He just put out this on social media,
basically this post like, hey, keep trusting God.
His ways are not our ways.
That to me is a sign that he knows he is getting traded
because you're seeing all of their
beat reporters talking about that Brees Hall
was supposed to be back and playing already,
but he has been kind of soft shutdown
and will not actually be playing even though he's
healthy.
All of this shows to me that he is going to be on the trade block.
Um, then even just seeing that the New York jets,
who did they put out in their Halloween
post before this game they have against the Raiders?
It's their backup running back.
This is not Jonathan.
Uh, this is not Breece Hall.
And so if Breece Hall is the plan long-term,
you don't put his backup on there who a lot
of Jets Kingdom is saying like, Hey, this is the guy going forward.
So to me, all the tea leaves are pointing to.
Brees Hall is going to be a Denver Bronco
and it's not going to be Jonathan Taylor.
And what, you know, as Muji
is thinking about what he can get back, maybe it is a fourth
round draft pick and an RJ Harvey,
because I think RJ's biggest skill set is his Joker
ability as a pass catcher.
And I think Breece Hall has that exact same skill set.
Plus his ability to run in between the tackles like Sean Payton wants.
So it's almost like you are getting best of both worlds here.
That RJ Harvey is not a joker at this point in his career.
He's just a really good receiving running back.
But is he great at running the rock up the middle?
No.
And maybe Sean Payton has plans for that.
And this entire thing could be off.
Because one of the things that is making me second guess this is.
Seeing that it is the Denver Broncos PR team
who doubled down on J.K. Dobbins and just
that there is no strife with J.K. Dobbins
and he doesn't want to go anywhere.
We know Sean Payton is super close
to the Denver Broncos PR team and they don't put
anything out there that is not backed up here
by Sean Payton's ultimate blessing.
And so when you see the Broncos social media team putting out
a tweet saying J.K. Dobbins
is saying that I don't care what my role is as long as I win the game.
Maybe J.K. Dobbins isn't disgruntled
and he's not planning on going anywhere.
And then we heard him say that he feels great.
We heard Sean Payton yesterday say
that his his numbers are measuring everywhere that
they were hoping that they would be.
I think Monday is going to be incredibly interesting.
I think Sunday is going to be interesting
because I think we'll know is Jonah Coleman
ready to be a bell cow back.
So obviously a lot more of this is going to be matriculating,
especially Sunday after
the Broncos mollywop the Kansas City Chiefs and take over the AFC West.
Don't give it back until the start of next season.
Broncos country, we got a ton to believe in.
