Russian troops are likely taking advantage of the temporary ceasefire around Oleshky to prepare for some kind of large-scale offensive operation, perhaps even an attempted landing in Kherson. This was reported by the German publication BILD, citing Ukrainian military personnel.

According to the publication, after several months of siege and constant Russian attacks, a ceasefire has been established around Oleshky in the Kherson region. It was made possible thanks to public pressure and mediation by the Vatican. US First Lady Melania Trump also joined the effort.

Amid the ceasefire, Russian military officials released a video showing the demining of the road between Oleshky and Radenske. This route, which the occupiers had previously almost completely mined, is planned for the evacuation of local residents, scheduled for Saturday. At the same time, Ukrainian military officials, cited by BILD, report signs of Russian military preparations for combat. They say Russian KamAZ trucks carrying combat teams are constantly moving along the roads, and the Kakhovka industrial zone is being equipped with anti-drone nets.

According to the publication's sources, Russians are also stockpiling Grad multiple launch rocket systems in the forest near Radensk, cutting down trees, and fortifying shelters. Similar movements of military trucks have also been recorded near Golaya Prystan. Furthermore, the occupiers are moving drone units closer to the Dnieper River.

"They're preparing something bad," a Ukrainian military officer notes, describing the actions of Russian forces. According to BILD sources, the situation could worsen after the ceasefire ends on November 1.

"After the ceasefire ends, the situation will definitely worsen," said another Ukrainian soldier, also suggesting that the Russians would attempt to cross the Dnieper. Verkhovna Rada Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets traveled to Oleshky to personally accompany the humanitarian mission to evacuate residents of the occupied city. He emphasized that the negotiations for this mission had been complex and lengthy.

According to the published document, evacuated citizens will first be transported from Oleshky to Anapa, from where they will be flown by military transport plane to Gomel, Belarus, and then they will be able to reach Ukrainian-controlled territory.
