Ukraine has identified key areas for the further use of long-range weapons on Russian territory. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Telegram following his report on deep strikes in September and October.

"Every Russian strike on our cities and communities is always met with a completely just response. Currently, Russian targets stretching from Yamal to Western Siberia are within our strike range, and we are working to ensure that our drones and missiles can reach even more remote Russian territories," the president said.

Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine plans to expand its deep-strike units, drawing on the capabilities of the SBU and, in particular, the Alpha Special Operations Center, as well as intelligence services and other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. "Our Ukrainian long-range capabilities are one of the real guarantees of preserving our state's independence now, during this war, and will become one of the long-term guarantees of security after the war ends. We are developing our strength," the president emphasized. As a reminder, Fire Point previously reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces, using FP-1 drones, struck the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery in Russia's Samara Region. Ukraine, as promised to its partners, refrained from striking the refinery for exactly two weeks.

The Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery has a design processing capacity of approximately 8.8 million tons of oil per year. Numerous spills have been recorded across the refinery's territory. The enterprise has a design processing capacity of approximately 8.8 million tons of oil per year.

"Numerous hits were recorded on the plant's premises. In particular, one of the damaged units was a diesel fuel hydrotreating unit," the report said.

Earlier, Ukrainian troops have temporarily halted attacks on Russian oil refineries after weeks of pressure from US President Donald Trump. The unofficial pause could last until after the US midterm elections or even longer – until the end of November, The Wall Street Journal reported , citing sources familiar with the military operations.

According to the publication, the decision to effectively suspend the campaign against Russian refineries took effect last week amid worsening tensions between Kyiv and Washington. A few days earlier, Trump called for the ouster of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Elon Musk's SpaceX restricted Ukraine's use of the Starlink satellite internet service.

Two Ukrainian military officials familiar with the situation told the Wall Street Journal that in mid-October, units responsible for long-range strikes were informed that the campaign against Russian oil refineries had been effectively suspended. They were supposed to complete operations already underway. The Wall Street Journal reports that in recent weeks, Trump has been increasing pressure on the Ukrainian president to stop attacks on Russian refineries. The American leader blamed Ukraine for rising global fuel prices, although energy market experts largely attributed this to the war between the US and Iran. But the pause in attacks on Russian oil refineries has ended
