Busted on Multiple Criminal Charges A non-citizen mayor in Kansas has been busted on several charges after voting illegally in several elections despite his status. As Fox News reported, Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab and Kansas Attorney General Chris Kobach announced they filed charges in Comanche County ...against Clearwater, Kansas Mayor... Joe Ceballos, a permanent resident from Mexico, for voting in elections in 2022, 2023, and 2024, despite not being a legal citizen. Kobach said that Ceballos has been charged with three counts of voting without being qualified and three counts of election perjury. The Kansas Reflector notes that all six of these charges are felony offenses. Kobach also stated that his charges carry a maximum penalty of more than five years in prison and fines of up to $200,000. Adding insult to injury, Ceballos was just re-elected mayor of Clearwater, Kansas. for his third term and served on city council for two terms prior to that. Yes, of course, you have to be a citizen to be on the ballot for any of those elections, but Ceballos lied on all of his election applications. At this time, he is not being charged for anything except for the six felonies explained above, voting as a non-citizen. Clearwater City Council is in the process of declaring their last election fraudulent and will have to redo the entire election for mayor as Ceballos cannot continue to serve as mayor, although he has since 2021.
