Kremlin propagandist Vladimir Solovyov made another absurd statement, suggesting that Russia, together with the United States, conduct a military operation against Norway for the sake of the Nobel Peace Prize for US President Donald Trump. The mouthpiece of Russian propaganda called for an agreement with the Americans on a joint attack on Norway, in order to ensure that Trump receives a prestigious international award.
In his speech, Solovyov proposed conducting a kind of “SVO” against a European state.
“We need to come to an agreement with the Americans and they will just screw it up. We will win the Nobel Prize for Trump together with America by carrying out a military operation against Norway”.
Solovyov earnestly called on the Russian leadership to enter into behind-the-scenes talks with Washington and agree on a plan for a coordinated attack on the Scandinavian country, a long-standing and reliable member of the North Atlantic Alliance.
In his public speech, Solovyov described the potential armed conflict as analogous to the so-called "special military operation" that Russia is conducting against Ukraine.
The propagandist believes that a small, victorious war against Oslo and the subsequent forceful dictate of the two nuclear superpowers will allow Trump to try on the role of global peacemaker. Such outrageous statements come amid Moscow's regular attempts to drive a wedge into Euro-Atlantic solidarity and test the reaction of Western elites to direct threats to Northern European states.
Experts note that the level of militaristic rhetoric on Russian television has completely exceeded the bounds of common sense, turning international law and institutions into objects of outright mockery. Earlier, Solovyov, on a federal television channel, made a cynical call for US authorities to kidnap Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, drawing a parallel to the fate of former Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega.
Monitoring media resources that track Russian propaganda broadcasts are reporting yet another round of absurd threats from the Kremlin's mouthpiece.
According to Putin's TV presenter, Washington needs to open a criminal case against the Ukrainian leader, accusing him of allegedly embezzling American taxpayer funds.
"And then kidnap him, like Maduro," Solovyov offered a crazy idea, confusing historical precedents and lumping together the current leader of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, and the former Panamanian dictator, Manuel Noriega, who was indeed captured during an American military operation in 1989.
Such aggressive attacks on prime-time Russian TV clearly demonstrate the growing frustration and impotence of the Kremlin information machine against the backdrop of the complete failure of plans to forcibly overthrow the legitimate Ukrainian government.
