Oh, oh God, I'm actually scared.
Are you tired?
Ha ha ha ha!
Really intense, no pun intended,
because it's built intense, but that was a terrible joke.
Buena Vista Street looks a whole lot spookier.
Here.
And I've worked in haunts before. I've always been a part of the scene.
Danny F. Karpidis is the brains behind it all.
He says it started as a small walkthrough in his garage back in 2021.
A couple of years ago, we had Ron Howard
walk through here, which was a treat.
F. Karpidis says he takes a few weeks off from work to design,
build, and create the entire attraction himself.
Let me take you into the bar.
I tried to do a more cohesive theme this year with like
a mad scientist lab slash witchcraft and some post-apocalyptic scenes.
Admission is free, but last year F. Carpita says he started
collecting donations for Yale New Haven Children's Hospital
to help kids who may not be able to celebrate Halloween themselves.
I just want to give back to the community. I've done volunteer work
in the past and I always try to do what I can and pay it forward.
It's really great. The neighborhood seems to love what he does here.
So I think it's a win for everyone,
a win for the kids, a win for the families.
The best thing about it, all the hard work I put in,
when they walk out and they say thank you
and smile and they're happy, that's the goal.
Visit if you dare.
I'm Justin DeVellis, News 12.
