Hello from the Fox Chicago Forecast Center on this Thursday.
Great to have you with us for the online forecast.
Turned out to be a pretty decent day after the morning cloud cover.
We had some sunshine and some decent temperatures.
But now moving ahead, we have rain to talk about.
Here are the takeaways in our forecast.
First and foremost, high temperatures are going
to remain above average for a while to come.
Now, it doesn't mean it's going to be in the 70s necessarily every day,
but it's going to stay above normal.
We do have rain chances
in the forecast every single day over about the next week.
And as far as Halloween goes...
I'm optimistic for some dry time.
It's just a matter of when do we get said dry time.
As it looks right now, Halloween forecast,
showers late morning through the middle part of the afternoon,
temperatures being held back 60 to about 64,
so in most cases by the evening,
I'm hopeful that we dry things out and temperatures will fall down
to the upper 50s, so a little cool for some.
And again, the optimism is there that the rain goes by the wayside.
Let's go through Futurecast here, take you through this.
We start early Friday morning, lots of sunshine to begin the day,
then clouds come in from the west,
and rain showers may come in as well.
Now, at the same time...
We've got dry air being pushed in from the north and from the east.
That may eat away at some of this moisture,
so I think Futurecast might be overdoing this a little bit.
But still, there is a chance
for some showers tomorrow afternoon into the evening.
And then we start to dry things out
as we go deeper into Friday evening.
But then here comes the next slug
of moisture working our way into Saturday,
and this is where late morning to the middle part of the afternoon
there may be widely scattered showers across the area.
The hope, though, is that by the evening time frame,
roughly 6 p.m. to about 9 p.m.,
it's dry enough for most kids to go do some trick-or-treating.
We'll still fine-tune this forecast
as we get closer to Halloween Saturday,
but just know there is a chance of rain on Saturday.
Over the next seven days, grand total moisture may top about an inch
and a half to two inches in some cases.
Best odds to our west across the viewing area.
And we need the moisture. It's been a little dry over
the past handful of days, to say the least.
Temperatures tonight under a clear sky
and light wind falling down to the 40s.
That's close to normal for this time of year.
Tomorrow, not quite as warm as what it was today,
but still many of us into the 60s.
Average high right now is 57 degrees.
We don't get closer to average again.
Until Thursday of next week,
temperatures going back above average by quite a bit.
66 on Sunday, 68 on Monday, near 70 and wet for Election Day Tuesday,
leftover showers on Wednesday, trending dry but cooler,
as mentioned, for Thursday of next week.
