Titans' Risky Trade Gamble Puts Future on Draft Picks

Let me set it up here for you, right?
Dallas pretty much gave up Micah Parsons
for a similar package to the Packers last year.
Except for one thing, Craig.
Okay?
They ended up getting a pretty damn good defensive lineman
in Kenny Clark in return, right?
The Rams...
Gave up very similar to the Browns to get Miles Garrett,
but do you know what else they got?
Jared Vert. So yeah, they did.
This only works for Tennessee is if they nail the draft picks
and what are the, what's the legit percentage
of them nailing the draft picks here? Do you
What do you think in the next two?
I agree, but there's no choice, Joe.
The whole organization is looking at themselves,
and at the end of the season, Joe, after what happened last year,
this entire new regime, or whatever you want to call it,
are going to be 3-14, or 4-13.
And they're in the room talking about this like,
you know something, if we don't trade this guy right now,
and we don't get better immediately for next year,
we're all going to get fired next year.
We don't have three years anymore like they did
in the 1990s and the 2000s.
You could take two, three years off and still keep your job.
The Titans guys are not going to be able to do that.
If they go six and 25, it's going to be over for them.
So they have to do it now, Joe, because they see this year is a bust.
That's it.
And maybe that's what's happening.
Maybe that's what the league is now.
Maybe we are going to see more trades because teams that are out of it.
That are already bad
or petrified that the following year we're going to be bad too
if we don't do something about this right now.
If we don't add for the future right now for next year, we're cooked.
Maybe.
Maybe that's where we're headed.
Well, it's the signal you just sent
to the Tennessee fan base is we're one in six
and the season's over.
And you just traded the one guy that has been the face
of the franchise since he's been in the league.
That's fair.
And you basically didn't get anything in return outside of,
fingers crossed, hopefully in the future, we'll be able to have some.
So you're basically telling the Tennessee fan base,
yeah, it's over this year.
It's likely going to be over next year.
It's going to take.
So, again, you're in.
It's not a great spot, at least.
The Browns, right?
At least the Cowboys got something in exchange for it.
And I think that's the big difference.
It's risky.
Number ones don't always work out, ever.
No, I know.
And listen, Miami did not have a Simmons, but they traded Joe.
They traded everybody and got nothing back.
They got nothing back.
That's a good point.
They got zero.
We knew going into the season, the Dolphins.
Right, and they have nothing.
The Dolphins got nothing in return.
Zero.
