Yeah, I am.
Rick?
I would say we have to stop meeting like this,
but you probably are happy with us meeting like this.
San Diego, L.A., and now here.
Put on your fan hat.
You've been a fan since you were a kid.
What does this mean to you as a fan, Rick?
Yeah, I mean, I've loved the Brewers since I could walk,
and to be part of an organization
and work for the team I grew up rooting for
and loved, a lot of heartache, a lot of tough years,
A lot of missed chances, and for Bud Selig,
the first fan, for Bob Uecker looking down at us,
for all the fans, all the players,
all the people that helped build the stadium,
the thousands and millions of fans who come in and watch us play,
25,000 fans coming to Tampa Bay to root on, indescribable.
It's such a privilege to be part of this organization.
I'm so happy for the state.
It's hard to put into words.
It's unbelievable.
Look at that sign.
Has that soaked in?
It hasn't.
You know, we have never played
and won the last game played in the baseball season,
and now we did it, and it's indescribable.
But to see that Brewers logo and World Series champions,
you know, you work hard,
you never take it for granted,
and you hope it comes, and it takes a lot of work.
The players and Murphy and Matt Arnold, they deserve all the credit,
and it's just fantastic for them.
I'm so happy for the players.
Let's talk business side.
The Bucks championship kind of put Milwaukee on the map in a way.
baseball has become an international game the wbc is huge
and now milwaukee is at the center
of baseball what does that do for the city can you speak
in those terms yeah i mean i will say
this you know there's a lot of discussion about
the stadium you know building then miller park
in 1999 and getting it built
and then funding it for the next generation and i would just say that
you know we wanted to pay back everybody
who supported us both in getting the stadium built
and getting it to the next generation, and this helps.
So it's all part of the brand.
It's all part of the Milwaukee experience.
But, yeah, we are so excited
to be the world capital of baseball for 2026.
So it's great.
And you get to celebrate this for a few minutes,
and then you've got to start planning a parade, right?
You're very involved in that.
Are we shutting down 94 from here to La Crosse,
or is that too much to ask?
That might be too much, but we're going
to start on Friday at about 9 a.m.,
start in 4th Street and Wisconsin Avenue.
It's got to be Wisconsin Avenue.
And it'll end near the Summerfest grounds.
So we're inviting everybody, obviously, to the parade route.
We can hold up to 100,000 or so at Summerfest grounds.
The production and rally will be at the amphitheater.
We're going to obviously have to sell tickets just to make sure
that we don't have 80,000 people trying to get to 19,000 seats.
And how soon is that going to happen?
That's going to happen starting tomorrow.
And we've got everything planned.
You know, you always have to make contingencies,
and we want to do it right.
So I think fans are going to be blown away with the parade, the rally.
We've got special rally-specific merchandise.
We're running out of stuff, but we're ordering as much as we can
because the fans are buying in record numbers.
Major League Baseball has told us they've never seen
the kind of sales that we've produced,
that our fans have produced, for all the merchandise.
So we're trying to get as much as we
can, but we'll be ready for Friday.
Final question. Your cup is empty, and that's a sad thing.
That should never be happening.
There's dirt in here.
Oh, you're taking dirt?
I got to ask you, a man left
his father's ashes over there, tossed them.
That's what this team means to this state.
Final question, what's your message to the fans of Wisconsin
and beyond the diaspora of Wisconsinites all over
the country and the world?
Yeah, I mean, thank you so much for being the greatest fans.
I know it's a cliche.
I know teams say that.
Our fans prove it.
We may not be the biggest market.
We don't have the largest population.
But in every data point, every measurement,
the people of Wisconsin support this team like no other.
And for us to be able to deliver a World Series to them,
that's the ultimate right
that's what everybody wants long climb up the mountain
congratulations sir congratulations go celebrate
