New tonight, Bellevue Police say they have arrested
the first of three suspects accused of stealing thousands
of dollars worth of golf clubs from a store.
Surveillance video from Putts Golf
on September 10th shows a man holding the door
as a second suspect runs through it carrying multiple new ping drivers.
An employee followed them out of the store and was violently beaten.
They alerted other golf stores in the area
and obtained a better photograph of the theft suspect.
After we aired the surveillance video,
Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound got a tip
that Cameron Raleigh was selling
these Ping drivers on Facebook Marketplace.
Detectives compared his photos to the surveillance images,
matched the shoes he was wearing,
and a tattoo that he has on his back that stretches to his left arm.
They set up a sting and took the 36-year-old
into custody in Lakewood last Thursday.
According to the court documents,
Raleigh admitted that he stole the golf clubs.
Detectives say he also burglarized the Pro Golf store
in Bellevue on July 27th with this guy,
the same suspect who held the door open for him at the Putts theft.
That suspect you see there has not yet been caught.
Raleigh is scheduled to be arraigned in court tomorrow
for one count of organized retail theft in the first degree.
His criminal history includes five convictions for theft
and 18 prior warrants issued for his arrest.
He's being held on $50,000 bail.
