There's another big case that you've been working on,
you've been involved with, too.
You know, I'll let you tell as much as you want,
but tell me about this other, this case that you've been working on.
Yeah, so there is a woman named Ingrid Johnson from Anacortes, and she
was charged last September with felony stalking and felony harassment.
You're talking about a crime that carries
a prison sentence of up to 10 years.
She had been harassing, following, putting tracking devices,
threatening to kill her ex-husband for months,
violating protection orders repeatedly over and over again.
So we aired her for Seattle police as a fugitive on her felony warrant.
When somebody is charged with a crime, a bail amount is set.
In this case, it was a $150,000 bail, meaning once she got caught,
she would automatically be in jail and $150,000 bail.
So you'll hear me a lot of times say there's
a one hundred fifty thousand dollar warrant for somebody's arrest.
It doesn't mean that's the reward.
It means that's what their bail has set.
And and as I'm featuring her and airing her on the news,
on the spotlight, on my Facebook page,
she decides to email me and just tear into me also,
which she has also done to the court repeatedly.
And she's been cited by judges, by courts for doing this,
sending hundreds and hundreds of emails,
usually in the middle of the night.
in my case she calls me Jason Rose I don't know
who Jason Rose is uh she said she's gonna said
you're gonna sue me so much she's gonna steal
my ice trays i i replied that i don't have ice
trays we have an automatic ice maker
so thank goodness she's not gonna get my ice trays and
that she hoped that i got run over by a bus i mean this just you know
and this is just the kind of
things she says to people she says much worse things
to prosecutors to judges to people involved
in the case. You can imagine what
is in the court documents that I can't even say publicly
about the things she has sent to her ex.
It all stems, AJ, from some mental health problems
the courts believe. She does not have custody of their child.
She lost custody and she was
given visitation rights. Now, that's a lengthy process.
Anybody who has ever been through it
knows it takes a lot to take a mother's rights away in this state.
But if the court finds that
it's in the best interest of the child they'll
do that and they did that with Ingrid and they gave
her visitation rights
with her son which she didn't even use she never even showed up except
like in that picture you see where she's looking
in the window well that's when Seattle detectives
say she was going to kidnap her son so this is one
of those cases where they're very worried
we're going to have an Amber Alert where she goes in and kills her ex
and kidnaps her son
and so the judges are very very worried about
that in fact today in court she was supposed to
show up because she turned out to be arrested
by deputies in Skagit County two weeks ago but before
she could be transferred to King County her parents showed up
and they put up their house
for her $150,000 bail it's the first time I've ever seen
this where a suspect is arrested in
another county and they're not shipped
to the county where they're wanted they were she was
not brought to King County to go to court
her parents showed up they put up their house as
collateral for the bail and that's the house where she
was hiding where she was arrested so she got
to go home she was ordered to show up today
for her arraignment three detectives the victim uh his
family their supporters the victim's advocates
the judge the prosecutor the defense they're all there
Ingrid doesn't show up she says i have norovirus
and i can't make it well judge Nelson Lee was
having none of that so take a look at what he said
in court today well this is the video this
is not the actual soundbite from court this is just a video
so if you guys can get the soundbite um
that Alan was going to cue up for us we can play
that right here give me a second to David to get
the video up so um here is the actual judge
this is judge as you mentioned Nelson KH Lee and this
is um what we heard from them in court today
if not the ultimate risk um and a community as well
the message if you will that she sent regarding
the norovirus i will say i find completely lacking
in all credibility um it's basically a message
a text exchange with a registered nurse online
where she describes general symptoms
and then asks what am i in for flu norovirus i'm not very sick
very often. And then the RN responds, well,
it could have been norovirus, and then goes on to
offer some opinions.
That is hardly, as she describes it, a clear indication that she is ill
and cannot make it. I think there's a long history
of her defiant of court orders, her clear intent
to avoid being held accountable
or to answer for the charges against her. So frankly, I don't think
300,000 is sufficient.
So defense, my inclination is to order bail in the amount of 500,000.
I was going to go up as high as 1 million because this needs to stop.
I have grave concerns for the
victim. Her escalating behavior, frankly,
puts me in grave concern that she may act out her threats
and cause the victim physical harm, if not something worse.
Yeah. So Judge Nelson Lee there,
a.j very very frustrated
because this has just continued to delay things um so he issued a
five hundred thousand dollar warrant for her arrest
so again if she gets caught her bail then
is increased to five hundred thousand dollars you heard him say he
was thinking about increasing it
to a million dollars now i don't know the value of her parents house
but he did tell her defense
attorney that she can request a court hearing
to get that warrant quashed in about a week if
ingrid is willing to show up um and so uh they're going
to talk to the defense attorney says she's
going to try to talk to her i expect a flurry
of emails to go out to everybody involved the
detectives me the judge the court the prosecutor
the prosecutor said he's heard from her hundreds
and hundreds of times she uses very defamatory
language she says really rude and cruel things
she makes threats um and everybody agrees
that what she needs is some mental evaluation and some
mental health treatment because normal people
just don't act like this aj and they just want
the best for her but you can see judge lee is also very concerned
because the victim his son
his girlfriend they are all living in terrible fear
no it is it's a scary situation and what's
so unique i know we talked about it
but this person is now naming you who is not involved
in their lives at all
so just kind of the the the range of these threats that are being made
um, don't stop just with people
that are connected to this, um, this woman.
Yeah. And it's anybody, anybody that crosses her radar,
she files these bogus claims,
um, in court. She does it from her computer.
Even judge Lee was very baffled about,
even while she's been on the run,
she's been filing hundreds and hundreds of documents.
The courts have cited her.
They've, they've, there's been all kinds of rulings just for that
stuff alone because of, because of the threats.
Um, and kudos to the Skagit County Sheriff's
deputies. I think Semaacortes police
might've helped them. They actually,
they actually went their proactive team actually went they got
a warrant for the house where she
was staying they were there was a way they knew she
was there i don't want to give away their
secrets but there was a way they knew she was there hiding
while they're outside AJ she calls
9-1-1 and threatens to kill herself
while the deputies are outside there to arrest her on a
legal warrant she just does not want for this case she does
not see that she's done anything wrong
despite um the countless times she's issued
these threats she's shown up at the victim's house as
You can see looking in the window.
So the simple fact she can't see right from wrong,
that's what everybody's so concerned about.
And so you can see the writing on the wall.
We don't want to be one of those, oh, well,
we all saw it coming, and there it happened, right?
But what was kind of shocking was that,
and even to the Seattle detective, he had never seen this, right?
We're not newbies.
We've all been around for decades.
I had never seen this where a suspect gets arrested in another county
and then isn't brought to the county where they've
been wanted for coming up on a year.
It's just sort of shocking.
So if you see Ingrid,
Crimestoppers will pay you a cash reward of up to $1,000.
She can submit a tip online.
We know where she is.
It's just a question of are they going to go get her again
or is it going to take some time?
I think they're going to need to go with a lot of resources.
They're going to need people that can deal,
you know, mental health kind of stuff
and just do it very carefully
because she needs more than just handcuffs.
She needs somebody that can talk to her, that can explain things to her
because she's not just going to turn herself in.
I don't see any world where that happens,
but I've been surprised before.
Fox 13's David Rose, two big stories.
And again, you hear mentioned Crime Stoppers, the impact that,
you know, David's involvement with this investigation,
helping with the first one,
Cameron Rowley and our viewers providing information to help.
You can get involved. You can be a part of,
you know, helping this community stay safe.
David, appreciate you.
Thanks, AJ.
Jay, I love this to be able to go into the detail
because there's always so much more
that goes into this than just, you know,
the two minutes we put on television.
So, right.
No.
Yeah.
And I appreciate you always making time
and you always have these stories and we get to
hear the deets.
This is probably, you wouldn't get to hear
the impacts in the ice cube tray threats and
everything else that goes into it.
I was going to show up at her house
with some ice cube trays if they didn't go get her.
Well, if you do that, make sure you record it.
We'll put that on next week too.
You got it, bud.
All right.
