Today we will be doing chicken shashlik recipe. Its really healthy, vibrant, easy and delicious meal. Not only it looks great, but tastes super yummy, juicy and rich in flavours. Chicken shashlik is a very popular chicken recipe. Chicken pieces are weaved on skewers and then either they are fried or grilled on on hot charcoal. Try this with other veg too like mushrooms and baby corn. You can also cook this on a barbecue - just make sure the chicken is cooked thoroughly and don't use any leftover marinade to brush the cooked chicken with. Shashlik is basically like a shish kebab, which translates to skewered meat and is a dish that was popular in central and South Asia. But it also became really popular in Soviet Union times, and we have this in Latvia all the time. This is a perfect recipe for Ligo ( Midsummer Latvian Holiday) coming up! Here is a very simple chicken shashlik recipe.

Hi guys! Всем привет!
Welcome to my channel Alla's Yummy Food. Today I'm going
to show you how to make chicken shashlik.
Now I love shashlik. I literally grew up on it.
Shashlik basically means like meat on skewers.
It can be any kind of meat, chicken, pork, lamb.
but this one is kind of a homemade version
because I'm not at home in Latvia so I do not have like
the grilling thing whatever you call that the barbecue stuff
so we're gonna be doing it in my
oven and I thought that a lot of you probably
are well I don't know maybe some of you own a garden
but I don't I live in a tiny flat in London
and definitely do not have a garden so I wanted to
make a recipe that I can cook at home really easily
but still tastes amazing so we have a
holiday called Ligo it's like
a midsummer holiday you probably have seen already my
um yanni's cheese which is like the traditional yellow cheese
with cumin it's amazing as well so
i wanted to go a bit more traditional
and have like a latvian week um yeah i hope you enjoy this
and it's super easy to make really i mean
so easy like anyone can do this it's not even it's not
even that hard. I mean, it's not hard at all
and it's delicious and healthy. And guys, we want to
reach 100,000 subscribers on my YouTube channel
and I want to do this by the end of summer. So

something very special for you guys if we get there,

Ugh.
Okay guys, I hope you subscribe, share the world.
Let's do this!
Let's get there!
Yeah?
Say hi.
Say hello.
Say hello.
Place your chicken breast onto your cutting board
and then cut your chicken in half and
then in half again just to get nice and equal sizes of your meat.
We want to make sure that
the shashlik looks quite even.
So just cut them into cubes just like that.
Then take all your
chicken and place into a large bowl.
Next I'm going to chop up my onion into circles so make
sure you cut it right across just like
that so you have nice circles to put over the shashlik.
and we're gonna then add these onions
into our chicken we want to marinate
everything together to get that flavor
then add your salt pepper paprika
turmeric and sour cream
then I'm using some chicken spices again it's a
mixture of majority of what I've added
in but feel free to leave that out and
lastly we're gonna add some soy sauce
then mix everything together until it's
nice and smooth and incorporated.
You can also use your hands if you like, just to make
sure everything is covered.
Then place that into the fridge for about 2-3 hours to marinate.

When your chicken is done, we're going to take some wooden skewers, you
can find these in any local stores,
and just start layering the chicken. We're going to
start with one chicken piece
then add some onions in there then add more
chicken and repeat the process
so we're gonna do chicken onion chicken onion
chicken onion if some
of the onions have broken you can still just put them on
top and it's fine I'm using actually
a stand from a microwave to cook the
chicken so gently place your chicken shashlik
on top now when it's done we're
going to roast this for about 45 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius
or 350 Fahrenheit the smell is
absolutely amazing the chicken
is really really soft it looks fantastic it's such a healthy easy
meal to prepare guys this is the perfect recipe
for the holiday coming up happy Līgo to all my
Latvian friends to all my Latvian followers I love you guys enjoy
this and enjoy this guys the meat
It is so juicy, so soft and literally making me salivate right now.
