Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan Marianne De Jong met with Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev. The embassy published a statement on this.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on the planned visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Tom Berendsen, to Azerbaijan, the current state of Azerbaijani-Netherlands relations, and the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation.
Such meetings between the parties are important in terms of continuing political dialogue between the Netherlands and Azerbaijan and developing cooperation on issues of mutual interest. Swedish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Luis Morsing met with Hikmet Hajiyev. İnformation about this was shared on the embassy's social media accounts. It was noted that the meeting between the parties was productive.
Earlier, Hikmet Hajiyev has met with Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Vaskelevicius. The Lithuanian Embassy in Azerbaijan shared information about the meeting on its Facebook page. The meeting discussed security issues in the region, prospects for strengthening bilateral relations between Lithuania and Azerbaijan, as well as the development of EU-Azerbaijan relations during Lithuania's presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The ambassador noted that amid the changing geopolitical and security environment, it is important for countries that know the value of freedom to further intensify their exchange of views, understand each other, and support one another. Recall, earlier, Hikmat Hajiyev has met with Bertrand Buchwalter, Diplomatic Advisor to the President of France for Continental Europe. "I had a productive meeting with my French colleague, Bertrand Buchwalter, who is visiting Baku. In the spirit of the phone conversation held last month between President Ilham Aliyev and President Emmanuel Macron, we reviewed the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan–France bilateral relations. We also exchanged views on regional developments and issues of mutual interest," he said.
