The Yankees get some major news. Source confirms that Aaron Boone entering the final year of his contract will be back as Yankees manager in 2027. Pete Caldera was on at first. That's from Gary Phillips over there on X. Boone is back. He's going to be back for 2027. Let me know in the comments if you guys are shocked, if you expected this. Let me know how you guys are feeling. I want to see the pulse of the fan base. Hit that like button and hit that subscribe button if you're not subscribed already. It's free. this is the place to be if you love the Yankees I keep you guys updated through the off season at the spring training and the regular season and we just go through this cycle so this is the place to be if you love the New York Yankees but Aaron Boone is back he's back for 2027 he's entering the final year of his contract I thought 2027 was an option year but I maybe they picked it up but he entering the final year of his deal will be back as manager of the New York Yankees he won He helped lead this Yankee team to 93 wins Great You beat up on a lot of bad teams Awesome You go to the ALDS You beat the crap out of Boston You go to the ALDS Get swept By your division rival Get swept That was pathetic Two years in a row You enter the ALDS And you get beat up Two years in a row Now Am I shocked that Boone is back? No I'm not The Yankees want to finish things up They want to finish it up with Aaron Boone that's their prerogative they want to do it they'll do it however you guys have to look at it in a different light though if the New York Yankees and yes Boone led this team to 93 games last year the Yankees had a lot go their way through the season though you had guys like Blackburn Hedrick pitch great no one expected that to happen no one expected that at all if you lose those two pieces that bullpen stinks Bednar had a great year I hope they bring him back i hope they bring blackburn back too why not but boone yes led the team to 93 wins not a division title but considering all the injuries okay great job but you got swept in the ds for the second year in a row don't be shocked if the yankees hit their june swoon because they're not committed to boone beyond 2027 if the yankees hit their june swoon or they're just they they stumble out of the gate and they're not playing well don't be shocked that the yankees think about moving on from boone during the season they're not attached to boone beyond 27 you're seeing teams do it you're seeing you've seen the phillies do it you've seen the mets do it you're the new york yankees and if your team's struggling you're in third or fourth place not saying it will happen i'm just saying if it does that might be the straw that finally broke the camel's back because according to michael freaking k according to michael k now i listened to the clip on the radio but this is from everything yankees michael k said that he heard Hal Steinbrenner was very upset after the yankees were swept out of the alds all right great i hope you were mad and then during that radio show I know Michael K mentioned that Hal's always at the stadium even though we don't see him he's always there we always see his sister sitting in the front row but he's always at the stadium he's either you know in his dark office or this or that whatever I hope he's there and I hope he cares because if you care and you're bringing back your manager you're bringing back your leader who your clubhouse does like but you're bringing back the same guy to lead your squad go out get this guy some better options go out and get this guy a legitimate third baseman and that's going to be hard to do, but go out and do it. Go out and get this guy proven arms in that bullpen. Spend some more money if there's no salary cap and Hal wants a frigging cap. So I hope Hal's upset. I hope he is because we're pissed. Us Yankee fans, we're mad. Second year in a row, an ALDS bounce. Second year in a row. That's pathetic. We got swept. We got swept fundamentally. Listen, if you get swept and your fundamentals were there, you just got simply outplayed, maybe we wouldn't be as hard, but what am I saying? Of course we're going to be tough on them. But fundamentally, there wasn't any. No fundamentals at all. They were bad. They played sloppy, sloppy, sloppy, sloppy, sloppy, sloppy baseball. Go out and get Boone guys, and some people think it falls on the manager, as it should, but then if you believe in Boone, go get them guys who are fundamentally sound go out and do that a report came out that Jazz when he was in Miami that Mattingly and Jeter had to talk to him about improving his attitude about him caring more and the Yankees knew about that and they still traded for him don't do that go out and trade for somebody that could improve this ball club that has a great attitude and has really good talent go find him somewhere please I'm begging we're begging you you can't roll out Ryan McMahon at the third base he regressed defensively and offensively not very good his numbers were dreadful we heard Xavier Edwards name I love that player Sherman reported today that it would it might take LeGrand Hedges it it might take Dax Kilby to land Edwards would you guys do that or is that too much he's a switch hitter pesky hitter I like him he hit .280 last year he has a .360 on base percentage last year so he gets on base would you trade LeGrand Hay and Kilby for Edwards maybe one of them maybe you try to keep one but if you have to trade one of them you can't prospect hug anymore I'm not saying the Yankees do that because they don't that was a really poor choice of words the Yankees have traded so many top 30 prospects in the past few years it's wild but sometimes you're going to have to part with your tippy top prospect if you're going to want to get that very good that tippy top player or a very good exceptional ball player and Edwards is a solid solid offensive option and if it takes a LeGrand Hay and another piece then that's what it takes he has a lot of major league control still i think he he would be worth it i think he would be he just the one thing he lacks is power and guess what yanks move away from that go get a guy who could doesn't strike out much who could put the bat on the ball and who gets on base xavier edwards fits that go get him now i don't know if the yankees are going to want to trade a uh uh kilby legrand hay probably not so they're going to roll out with anthony volpe and and listen i liked volpe i did i liked him last year when he came back up so we'll see what they end up doing but if you like Volpe that much and in that final DS game he played a pretty solid third base if you like Anthony Volpe that much what you have to do put him at one or the other and then upgrade one or the other you can't roll McMahon out there again I'm sorry you just can't you can't roll McMahon out there again he's not the guy if he played a gold glove defense maybe I'd be of a different tune right now but I'm not because he didn't play a gold glove defense he regressed mcmahon's not the guy go improve that do the yankees make any substantial moves before the the lockout we'll see but probably not they need this is max manis i don't expect the yankees to make any substantial moves before the lockout but they need to do something of note or they're gonna have a lot of furious fans sitting around for a lot of months they're gonna throw the fans a bone i just don't know what they can do if it isn't an on-field upgrade coaching change some kind of substantial front office hire bring back the beard policy let's get nuts that was funny anyway we'll see what they do we'll see what ends up happening but Hal Steinbrenner being pissed thank you for being pissed Hal if that's true you better be pissed because we're pissed go out improve this ball club if you're that mad go out and improve it you have to have a better team on the field and we'll see what the salary cap brings but you better have a better team on the field in 2027 because there will be baseball they're not going to lose out all on all that money that would be insane if they did that would be insane if they lost out on all that money but guys listen let me know what you think thank you so much for watching i'll see you next time take care
