Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe speaker discusses the growing perception of a \"culture issue\" within the New York Yankees, questioning whether manager Aaron Boone is the right leader. While the speaker believes Boone will likely remain through next season, they argue that a failure to win a championship should result in his departure to make room for a manager with a different philosophy and more \"fire.\"
Are the Yankees preparing
to do what many Yankees fans have been wanting them to do
for quite a while now?

It's free.
This is the place to be if you love the New York Yankees.
Keep you guys updated throughout the offseason into spring training
and obviously during
the regular season.
But the way I'm feeling everything out right now
in the way how the media is talking,
there's a culture issue with the New York Yankees.
How is CC Sabathia coming out talking about it?
Anthony Rizzo coming out and talking about it.
And these guys played for Aaron Boone
and people in the Joel Sherman, John Heyman.
Now, they've said they don't think Boone is going to lose his job,
but there's a lot of talk around, hey,
the clubhouse just isn't the same, right?
Or Joe Girardi talking about
an accountability issue with the Yankees right now.
Aaron Judge, it's like Rizzo and Judge are incredibly close.
Rizzo saying the things he said they were kind of harsh about
when he first entered the
organization people should take a Xanax it's kind
of wild that he said that that he felt like people
in the organization needed to take a Xanax it's kind
of crazy he's very close with Judge
Judge isn't going to say anything
and he's not really available to the media all that much and
I just wonder if that's a Yankee thing
or a Judge thing I think that's a fair question
but judging by all we're hearing are the Yankees
potentially preparing to move on from Aaron Boone
do I think it's going to happen probably
not not this year here's what I think is going to happen
and it doesn't take a rocket scientist
to figure it out Aaron Boone is going to be here 2027
right he's got basically one year left I know it's an option
but it's got a year left if the
Yankees don't win it all.
He's gone.
He tried it for 10 years.
At that point, hasn't worked.
Girardi lost his job, didn't get renewed.
He didn't get fired, but they didn't bring him back.
And that was a very young Yankee team.
That was a Yankee team that had no business going as far as they did,
especially against
the team who was cheating.
Girardi should not have lost his job when he did.
The previous years were a bit, okay, I get it, sketchy.
And I'm not trying to make excuses for Girardi,
but he had a lot of guys who were hurt.
That was at the tail end of Jeter's career,
Teixeira's career, A-Rod's career.
It was at the end there.
And they needed to bring up young talent.
And they did in 2017.
And look, look what happened.
Then he lost his job.
They brought in a guy in Aaron Boone who they really liked.
And listen, Aaron Boone seems like a really nice guy.
I liked how he's grown as a manager over the years.
These past few seasons, I think he's gotten a lot better.
I think he's a good human being.
There comes a time, though,
when the players need a different voice, when it just gets
so frustrating and the players need a different voice.
Now, oh, who do I suggest
to be the next manager of the New York Yankees?
I don't know.
There are a couple names out there.
one which i think makes a lot
of sense Shelley Duncan manages the Triple-A team down there
manages Scranton, he's been around Spencer Jones, Schlittler, Lombard, he's
been around the young guys
I think that could make some sense
and the Yankees seem to like him and he might add that fire he
played on the '07, I believe '07, '06 during
that time he played on those teams, that those are the gritty
Yankees, they didn't win championships, I know
but those are the gritty Yankees, so maybe you get that
kind of an edge back if you bring in a guy like
that who's familiar with the organization, who's
been in the organization for a while
who's familiar playing in New York, who has, who had that fire when
he played here and there's plenty of other guys we're
not getting Girardi back, we're not getting
Showalter, it's not gonna happen, interesting
though back when they were re-upping Aaron Boone
I believe after 2021 people in the organization wanted them
to sign Showalter, he goes and
signs with the New York Mets
but because the Yankees didn't want to hire Showalter, but there
are people in the organization
who wanted Showalter? Hal wanted to keep Boone, Cash wanted
to keep Boone, they kept their guy, they haven't won a title
and people might say, oh well you can't win
it all, can't do this, can't do that, it's like okay
I like, you can't win all the time, like I, I get it
you can't, that's being unreasonable, there's been far too many times
when this team has looked
absolutely just unmotivated
and that's where these former Yankees are coming in and talking
about a cultural a culture issue so in in my opinion
there's a leadership problem for some
weird reason he doesn't get the most out
of his players they're fundamentally they stink and you
have to change that there's too many people
who have basically indirectly called him out it just
might be time to move on but if they move on which
probably won't be until after next season they
better get a guy who has a different philosophy
than Aaron Boone because that's the whole point
in changing a leader and changing a manager you can't get
the same guy you can't get the same
type of guy that doesn't make any sense
when Torre left they hired Girardi Girardi younger dude at
the time a little more energy than Joe Torre I love Torre he
was a leader of men we talk about it all
the time maybe he he hurt his bullpen arms
a lot i mean Girardi he did the same thing but i also
felt like Girardi managed the bullpen incredibly well
when Torre found a guy he liked he would go
to them constantly constantly it's funny but
Torre was a true leader sounds like his players
wanted to play hard for him they wanted to play hard
for him I just don't get that sense with
Boone I just I don't I don't I don't I don't get it
so it just it might be time for the Yankees
to move on but I think they will if they don't
win it next year there is a season next year but
probably not until after
the year's up i don't think they're gonna let Boone go now however it's
really strange that this year's very different this offseason
so far i mean the offseason
kind of technically hasn't even started yet we still got
the playoffs happening but for the
yankees offseason started
a little sooner i guess there just comes a time
when you have to look at
your team look at your players
and they are and then look at your manager and think he's been here
since 2018 only one world series appearance since 2018 dealt
with a lot of injuries but everybody
else does too every organization does i don't care
who it is not everybody's pete alonzo who
could play every day all the time it doesn't happen mets dealt
with issues with lindor and
Soto there's injuries every year for every club
so injuries are a bad excuse I don't want to hear
them honestly I just don't bad excuse he won 93
games he managed this team to 93 games then you
hit the postseason
and you get absolutely outclassed you get outclassed this is what we
don't want to see leadership may have to change
but will it we'll see guys I appreciate you thank
you so much for watching I'll see you next time take care
