Yankees CONTROVERSY Getting Out Of Hand? (Yankees News 2026)
Oct 17, 2026
This drama is a little nutty.
I feel like it's getting a little out of control.
Every offseason since Boone has been manager,
I mean, there's been so much just fire, boom, this and that.
And that's not what I mean by things getting out of control
because that comes from the fans.
Now it's coming.
They're not calling for Boone's job,
but they're talking a heck of a lot of how that clubhouse is
and how the standards shouldn't be championship or bust anymore
because the Yankees just are not the same Yankees
as they once were I believe Rizzo mentioned that
and Brett when Brett Gardner left
the edge left, CC Sabathia said that there's just a lot that's
been said that hasn't been said in past years
and they're saying it now let me know what you guys
think down in the comments some people believe
that Aaron Boone could lose his job I don't think
so I don't think that's what the Yankees are going
to do but I think this is the closest that they've
ever been in moving on from Aaron Boone
and i think that next year and a lot of people feel
this way that if he doesn't win the World Series
or make a run make a nice good honest run if he
bounce if he gets bounced out of the ALDS once again
that they just won't renew him and they'll
move on and a lot of people feel that there's a culture problem
and i agree there there is and
there has been for quite some time
but Aaron Judge's comments that he made about the Yankees
that he wants the Yankees to go all in.
It appears that some higher ups
were a bit irritated by that.
This is from Jon Heyman.
One or two Yankees bigs
were slightly to somewhat annoyed
that captain three-time MVP Aaron Judge
suggested the $320 million Yankees
could spend more after they were swept
by the Rays in the division series.
That's a big payroll.
The Yankees always have a hefty payroll.
Always, always.
and Aaron Judge prior to the
2025 or 26 offseason
he mentioned that
hey I want Grisham back I want Bellinger
back and the Yankees did just that they
brought those two guys back however
how they spent that money
might seem a little questionable
16 million of that
is allocated to a third baseman who
vastly underperformed defensively
offensively and regressed
defensively in
Ryan McMahon Jazz Chisholm
had a down season just over .700 OPS I believe he made like 12
to 14 million through arbitration
Trent Grisham disappointing year oh just over .700 OPS one
of the worst defensive center fielders
in Major League Baseball bad season for him especially
from the the kind of year he had in
2025 I mean he had a breakout season that's why the Yankees paid him
so much so that 320 million
dollar payroll look at how some of it
was allocated it wasn't allocated to players that
really produced for you that should have produced
and then on top of that if you want to throw in
Giancarlo Stanton's money being thrown
on the IL even Aaron Judge's money being thrown on the IL
Rodon his money he threw under 100 innings 20
his 26 million dollars on the IL that's a lot of that
payroll on the IL and guess what
the Yankees won 93 games yes they played a lot of bad teams well
but they won 93 games with all of that because
their pitching was so good pitching was out that
bullpen I mean that bullpen was wild Ben Rice had
a big season Gerrit Cole Cy Young award winner
but when it comes down to it I just feel like
the game of baseball is also changing back to what it
was look at Milwaukee, look at Tampa
those are the teams that are going far and they play
more old school baseball, the Yankees don't
the Yankees don't, now I understand why some of the
you know people in the Yankee front office might
be upset with Aaron Judge, but you know what
go out and get better players, go out
and get a better third baseman, go out and improve your
team. You have some free agents.
They're not earth-shattering free agents, but there are some
free agents and some players on the trade market
that could potentially improve this Yankee team
a lot. But are you going to trade the assets to get them?
I mean, maybe the Yankees have done that.
It would be unfair to say that they haven't because they have.
We just want to see it set
in motion and we don't want to see them bring back the same team
because that's what they did
in '24, in '26 they essentially brought back the same team
and that pissed a lot of people off
pissed a lot of people off now
is Aaron Boone gonna lose
his job? Probably not. Bob Clapish
reports that they're probably gonna have
a big meeting next week, not meeting but a press
conference that they do every year that will probably
be next week and we'll go from there
I've also seen some people say that Cashman
and Judge don't see eye to eye and it's been an issue
for a while, Hal and Judge have no issues I don't think
that has anything to do with Cashman, here's
my thing i understand cashman has a job
to do we all have our jobs we all do i get cashman has a
job to try to put the best team he can
on the field i get it hal and judge if they have no
issues but cashman has an issue with judge it
reads to me that and and david stearns does this
with cohen's money it seems like it
and obviously hal he doesn't want to go above and beyond and
you said that plenty of times i understand
that but it it just seems that hey your philosophy
cashman isn't working it hasn't worked if anything you brought in a guy
who sucked defensively in
juan soto he played such a big role in that 24 team
and helping you get to the world series
you acquired a player that was very different
from as far as defensively from what you typically
want or seek out and you made it to the world series
and yes Soto was a home run or a home run
guy a high on base guy but he was a high on base guy
if you want defense fine but you need guys
who could hit too you need guys
who could put the bat in the ball work walks that's what you need
this yankee team lacked that this season
so maybe what aaron judge meant to say was he just wants
to see them go get the personnel get the players to improve this team
and xavier edwards he'd be
a great fit the yankees love him soto he would
be a wonderful fit for the yankees i think high
strikeouts don't care the guy hits incredibly well
in japan i've seen someone make the the
comp of hideki matsui i mean hideki was he
the power hitter that he was in japan and america
No, he wasn't, but he was a damn good baseball player.
Excellent.
First year in the big leagues.
He hit, I think, 280, 16 homers, drove in 100.
Sign me up for that.
I'm not saying Sato would do that,
but look at what Akimoto and Murakami did.
They had productive seasons for their respective teams.
I think the same thing would happen with Sato.
I think that would be a cool move if the Yankees were to make it.
I think it makes a lot of sense.
just go out get the players that best fit your
squad i just feel like a lot of this stuff that's
going on it's a little strange and it's a little heightened
then you then you have this i didn't
even bring sorry i'm coughing a tiny bit still have a lingering cough
but according to randy
miller so take that for whatever that's worth he mentioned
that when jazz was on the marlins
that Jeter and Mattingly both were then
in the Marlins front office
and a part of the Marlins, right?
Mattingly managed Miami.
They took Jazz aside and told him
his mental lapses were holding him back.
They would say, you have superstar talent.
You have to get your head right.
You have to focus.
You have to make this a priority.
And the Yankees knew these conversations happened
according to Miller.
And they were still interested in acquiring Jazz.
jazz and we know jazz has tremendous talent we know he does
that's that's very interesting though
but guys listen thank you
so so much for watching this cough it's tough for me to talk especially
for a long time but i did it we got through it thank you guys
so much i'll see you next time
take care
