AI GeneratedThe Chicago Bears secured a 31-23 victory over Atlanta, driven by Caleb Williams' efficient performance. While the win maintains their momentum, the analysts criticize the team's excessive penalties and head coach Ben Johnson's questionable decision to pull starters too early, which nearly allowed Atlanta to regain momentum.
He said, appreciate you.
At least he's nice.
Bears get the dub, 31-23.
We can all, as it says in the commercial, release those tight ends.
Boys, what is your answer?
Outside of a very scary five minutes,
what was your takeaway from today's game?
For me, it was the sloppiness of the penalties
and then the greatness that Caleb is able to bring to this team.
yeah he's able to make the simple throws that he did all day
and then get the chunk plays
so it just shows you how efficient the offense looks
when caleb is back but we definitely got
to show up these penalties
but they were a drive killer we lost we left at least two to three
touchdowns on the field not including the missing field goal
and then the the inept of ben johnson
And it's 10-minute, I'm throwing the towel in type of stuff.
That was ridiculous.
But we won.
We're back on the winning streak.
We got a short week.
So I'm glad we got this dub.
J.C., your thoughts?
Yeah, glad we got the W, but I'm with Drew on, you know,
the penalties have to get addressed because, like I told you,
there was a graphic where I think it
was like the beginning of the third quarter
where they were already ahead of their average of 6.4.
They had nine penalties at that point.
And so you got to clean that up because against a better team and not,
not that Atlanta is a walkover.
Clearly they have talent on both sides of the ball,
but that can cost you the game.
And I don't like the fact that Ben got,
I don't want to say he purposely got cocky,
but maybe he thought that,
okay,
if we protect the ball,
we run it with Roschon,
then we're going to just kind of bleed out the clock.
That didn't happen because as you know,
teams are going to be punching at you till the,
till zero.
Yeah.
And it actually worked and you gave them life.
So I want to see him, how he addresses that.
If he addresses that, I hope the media does question him on that.
Outside of that, this is the reason why,
you know, you have a franchise quarterback.
Caleb made all the difference in the world with his arm,
not even with his mobility.
Cause I think he's still a little, a step slow.
I feel like, but good, good job overall.
Glad we came out of Atlanta with the win.
I'm just glad we out of there.
Yeah, no, I think that's, that's kind of what it comes down to, right?
Like the theme of today's game was, um,
you have the kind of offense that can overcome
just about anything,
but the penalties are a problem and maybe listen, maybe it's the
officiating crew. I mean, I think somebody said it in the chat.
There's a crew that throws
a ton of penalties pretty consistently,
but that's something you got to deal with.
That's something that you have to be able
to overcome. And so it's nice to know that
the bears have an offense that is able to overcome that defensively.
I thought you had
a good defensive game until, you know,
I will put it on your head coach. I doubted Dennis
Allen said it because you saw the same thing
on the offensive side with Logan Jones coming in as
well where you wanted to go hey we're gonna freaking put
our backups in that that's that's a
spot that again I said it during
the game I'll say it here I think that your players you hope
that your players make you right in that moment
and they didn't you gave up eight points you end
up getting a fumble on a good defensive play
and and you you know put yourself in a position you
didn't need to be in very good that yet again
though that you can go back to an offense that
can put you over the top so when you have a team like
that that that you feel you know can do a lot
for you in that situation you feel good about it
but man like you just you made that game tougher
than it needed to be sometimes that's
the nfl uh what would i like for you to not do that it was
31-7 with 10 minutes left all you had to do was push
your starters in there even if you went to
prevent defense you don't pull
your starters until five minutes left in the game even the
rookie head coaches know that and and to that it added
so much stress even though they might have
been not stressed on the sidelines
because Ben Johnson knows what he has on his team yeah that
he could call his starters back in there
and they were able to play efficiently after that and not
completely check out but for me it
was it wasn't neat it wasn't needed yeah you put yourself on a
spot that wasn't needed and again
but on the flip side of it we felt good about seeing Logan Jones
out there we felt good about well Jordan yeah
you said Jordan Vanderburg got a couple of good
pushes in there yeah i mean like good pressures
but they gave up the eight points so you kind of
don't care about it but it's nice
but then like you know i just i thought you gave up unnecessary
momentum but at the end of the day it never felt like
your offense couldn't go out there and make
a play for you and that's very good versus
an Atlanta defense they got pressure on Caleb
all day all day they were in his kitchen all day they
was cooking on his stove i mean and so like
i think that's the part for me where it's good
to see the Bears be able to bounce back from that
it's good to see the Bears uh still be able
to come out of it with the win and yet again the
conversations that we're having nope
are uh you know self-inflicted issues making the making the
harder for you the penalties make the games harder for you
and i get it like the officiating crew is
gonna throw those flags but six i'm sorry
not six uh wouldn't end up being 12 penalties for 133 yards
bro because we had we had more penalties
unacceptable than they had yards for a while
all the way up until those last you know
those last we gave it away we we had more penalty yards
and they had offensive yards yeah yeah that's
that's i i don't want to say that because they
ben johnson is talking about ben jay creed
was like ben johnson is the second year he's gonna
get goofy sometimes for you to be so with that no no for him
to be such an elite mind you can't
get goofy and pull your starters some of those fourth downs maybe
but pulling your pulling i
haven't seen a coach do that defensive starters
with with with 10 minutes left in the game bro
that's that's that's beyond goofy well you gotta hope he doesn't
do that at all and learn from his
mistakes uh in the future
because well listen i think that it was trying to save reps for guys
as you go into this Patriot game.
You know what I mean?
I think that's really all that it comes down to.
You're trying to save reps,
but saving reps don't help you
if you lose the game that you're in.
You won this game,
so it's going to be something people talk about this week
that probably is not going to be an issue down the line.
It's probably not going to be something
that we're going to be talking about week in and week out.
I'll say this.
I hope it is.
We are.
We talk about situational football,
about being all,
every week we talk about it.
And you tell me,
I just got to,
No, here's the thing.
That was, to me, a bad play call.
You just don't like how he views situational football.
That's where we'll differ.
Correct.
You don't like his situational football.
Going for it on fourth down don't bother me.
I think that that's modern offense.
I think that when you get it.
It's where you go for it, though, on fourth down.
Like when we go for it, it was on our 25.
To me, fourth down, no.
Punt the ball.
If we're on the opposite side of the 40,
yes, situational football matters.
Field goal versus touchdown.
Yeah, but Drew, you didn't want them to go
for it when they were on fourth and one.
At the goal line.
I did.
I did.
You did not.
You said take the points.
They didn't get it.
You said, I told you to take the points.
But that's because we missed it the first time.
No, we went for it.
We kicked it the second time.
I thought we went for it again.
We went for it the first time.
We kicked it the second time.
That's what I mean.
His situational football don't bother me.
It does to me.
that was you trying to save reps for guys for thursday
and or you're trying to get guys reps
into in a real game scenario
so you can see what they look like I get the point but your players
gotta make you right yeah to me
your players didn't make you right you're overthinking the
game when you do that I understand it makes sense
when it looks right like you said if the players
make it right Roshan holds on to the ball they bleed the clock out
then yeah you look good by
saying oh okay kind of killing two birds
with one stone yeah you win this game you give your
starters 10 minutes of rest going
into Thursday's game against uh New England right yep so I get it
but it didn't work so now you got to eat crow
so like that that's the thing is it can backfire uh
also I would be remiss if I didn't shout out uh Kyler Gordon because I I
Kyler Gordon's back ladies
and gentlemen oh sweet jesus listen before we get out of here big love
to Kyler you know now it's can he keep it up
can he keep it up can he stay on the field can he
continue to play in this manner um because
if he can he's he's the best slot corner in football
bar none like he you know maybe immediate maybe you put
a Kobe Duran up there right immediate because
he was he was on uh special teams
and he came in as soon as on defense immediate impact I would
say maybe you put a Kobe Duran up there like
that might be the guy that's in that conversation
But, you know, for the most part, he came in and he played well.
And he looks good.
And he looks like he's back to form.
And you know what he looked like?
He looked like a dude that took a long time off
of football and came back fully healthy.
You better look like that with the amount of time that he took off.
So, hopefully, this all goes towards Bears-Dubs in the future.
Very good to have Kyler Gordon back on the field.
We appreciate you guys for tuning in and showing love as well.

Y'all know what to do.
For Mr. Media himself, Jordan J.C.,
and Mr. Do Better, if you knew better, do better.
Say who better?
Nobody, bro.
I had a little stroke there in the middle of that.
It's okay.
It's your boy, Pat the Designer, back at it again.
Y'all stay safe out there, Chicago.
Bear down.
One love.
No clapping of Ben Johnson, please.
Peace.
That was crazy.
Time to have a victory steak.
Yeah.
