The 3rd Army Corps reported on the fourth phase of Operation Vivaldi, during which the 2nd Assault Battalion participated in the liberation of Novomikhaylovka, Katerinovka, and Novoye. Soldiers of this unit managed to eliminate or capture 19 Russian Army officers: four company commanders, two deputies, and 13 platoon commanders. This was reported by the commander of the 2nd assault battalion, Drug Datsik, in a video published on the Third Army Corps' account on the social network X. According to the officer, during the battle for Novoye, a company of 120 men from the "Black Mamba" assault unit was sent to reinforce the enemy. During the ensuing fighting, most of the reinforcements were destroyed by Ukrainian forces. Thirty-two survivors managed to retreat into the forest, where they established a perimeter defense, holding out for exactly seven days. "Those who say that Russian officers don't surrender and don't abandon their own are completely..." Drug Datsik emphasized. On the fourth day, the Black Mamba commander, call sign "Marshal," along with his signalman, abandoned his comrades in an attempt to break through the encirclement. " They didn't succeed, they were ambushed and eliminated ," Drug Datsik noted. The commander of the 2nd Assault Battalion also showed off the captured Black Mamba flag, which it was supposed to plant in Novy.
TRecall, details of Operation Vivaldi, which began in May, continue to emerge. As it turns out, according to the command plan, while units of the Third Army Corps attacked Russian Army positions from the front, assault aircraft from the Artan unit outflanked the enemy and attacked from the flank. As Artan attack aircraft pilot with the call sign "Derun" reported in an interview with Yasa Lepka on " Novosti Live ," his unit in the Liman direction drew off Russian forces, thereby weakening the enemy's concentration in front of the Third Army Corps. According to "Derun," he expected the battlefield to be a scorched wasteland, but it turned out differently. The "Artan" men had plenty of trees, bushes, forest plantations, and dilapidated buildings for cover and concealed movement. " After disembarking from the armored fighting vehicle, our group came under intense mortar fire, and drone strikes were constant. As a result, we acquired the '300th,' which, unfortunately, after a long time became the '200th.' We were unable to evacuate it in time ," the soldier admitted. The scout added that Artan managed to find cover, but adjacent units were unable to quickly approach and assist with the evacuation. Subsequently, military reconnaissance personnel managed to penetrate the enemy's rear, dislodging them from their fortified positions, and advancing their defensive line. "Derun" emphasized that the main difficulty was the lack of time: approximately 15 minutes were allocated to storm each fortification, after which a drone strike would be launched on the location.
