Michael Venom Page Lands Million-Dollar Misfits Deal

Michael Venom Page, who we actually had a video the week, I think it was last week or a couple of weeks ago. It might have been last week of Venom Page beating somebody up with his shoe outside of a bar. Some dude got in Mike's face and Michael Venom Page didn't want to really mess him up and get arrested or anything like that, do something crazy. So he basically like took the guy's shoe and started like smashing him with his shoe, which was super funny. and we kidded at the time that it was more entertaining than his UFC fights were so Michael Venom Page went five and one in the UFC which is super impressive he went five and one i mean what do you want well they don't really care whether you win or lose that's the thing they just want you to be entertaining right it used to you know used in the old days if you won they didn't really have a choice you climb the ladder and it is what it is now they have a choice and they don't care like the UFC might as well be the WWE right they're gonna put who they want in in matches and kind of justifiably so as they know what people want to watch say what you will about them but they do do a lot of you know behind the scenes market research they know what people want and hell i like Michael Venom Page he used to be a regular on the show in the old days when he was in Bellator i like him i think he's a badass fighter but you can't deny that his fights basically sucked uh in the UFC for whatever reason like he didn't unleash it i mean he threw like six punches in the last fight he didn't unleash it and he's his whole thing with him is he's super entertaining and he fights like a video game character that like doesn't really you know that is so you know over the top that it just like freaks the opponent out because you're like dude this guy's like a video game like it's not like a real fight except he could get taken down easily so when he got to the UFC he was worried about getting taken down and he kept his distance but he ended up going five and one anyway so he won his fights we talked about it a couple of weeks ago he won his fight and they let him go immediately after his contract was over they didn't care they're like bye bye see you later and it didn't take him long to sign a new deal now he signed a deal with Misfits Boxing now at first i thought oh really like all right yeah i mean okay i guess kind of strange but if you want to box you want to box it is what it is but the thing is okay so Misfits Boxing you know Tony Ferguson is is one of their champions and the thing is with Misfits it's a it's a british company all right so Michael Venom Page obviously he's a british dude so he knows the people there there was a relationship already but this is and many will say oh what i want to you know Michael Venom and Page or whatever he's in Misfits now well yeah he might be in Misfits now but Michael Venom Page is getting paid more for three fights in Misfits than he got in six fights in the UFC he's reportedly getting over a million dollars a fight uh in misfits so it's it's funny how the UFC wanted to punish him and sort of kicked him to the curb and he turns around and he ends up making way more money now he is very fortunate that he is that he is british number one because like i said misfits are british they like the british names and stuff like that they love the fight game and evidently misfits does have money so what's interesting about this though is misfits boxing is going to have mma events now as well they're getting into mma and michael vennum page will be one of the faces of it and he's already calling people out so they're already sort of setting up the the big name the big name fights of sort of older dudes like like venom like venom page called out nate diaz like basically they asked him so he's gonna fight and he went through the list he goes well you know i could fight tony ferguson for the misfits boxing championship but um you know they want to start mma misfits mma as well so he called out darren till he called out um you know nate diaz is basically just calling out a bunch of fighters and hoping that something is something is going to stick and they can get like, you know, they get a little buzz going. but not a lot of people like francis, again, who was able to get out of the UFC and really cash in after the fact. And it's funny because Sean Strickland right now is complaining about the UFC and strickland and, you know, it's not true Whatever. all these fighters do that all the time They get drunk. they go online, they go on twitter, they post how the UFC sucks and they don't even like it and they get ripped off and the UFC are greedy and they're not going to do this anymore. And then they always grovel after. Right there, oh, well, you know, no, it's okay, I got taken care of. And like, so whatever. You got to take it with a grain of salt, you know what I mean? You just got to sort of whatever when they talk. But Sean Strickland's basically like, you know, I want to get out of here and do whatever everyone else does and just make real money in boxing to get out of the UFC thing is not everybody has that avenue, Michael Ven- and Page's popularity in England like basically cashed in this deal. Think what Misfits is though and good for them. Listen, I think the UFC underpay some fighters but they overpay others like it's not as black and white and as simple as people think with the UFC pay structure but at the same point in time, this is why these other companies don't last ever.
