Man found fatally wounded inside car on Detroit's west side

A man is dead after a shooting on Detroit's northwest side. Police found him shot inside a vehicle early this morning. Fox 2's Robin Murdoch live at the scene as police investigate this one. Robin. Good morning, Tanisha. Yeah, Detroit police, they do remain on the scene out here continuing to investigate. They are not sharing a ton of information at this point, but they did release a couple of preliminary details. And as you mentioned, they are telling us that one man was killed. No arrests at this point. I do want to step out of the way, though, because we want to give you a look at this very active scene at this hour. Now, we do know that police were called out to the 15,000 block of Hayden right near Outer Drive on the city's west side. And this was right past 1.15 this morning, just after 1:15 this morning. And when they got out here, that is when they found a man inside of a car suffering from a gunshot wound, we are told. Now, that man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he did die from his injuries. And we did see several bullet holes in the side of the car that he was in, what appears to be a white Mercedes. Now, police, they have been out here ever since, collecting evidence, taking pictures, just trying to figure out exactly what led up to the shooting and, of course, who is behind it. We did see investigators focusing on a garage down the block, unclear what that was about or if this is connected in any way. Police have not yet shared any information about a suspect connected to all of this. Of course, if anything does change, we'll be sure to let you know both on air as well as online. In the meantime, though, Detroit police still out here, still investigating after a man was shot and killed early this morning. Of course, we'll have another live update for you in about a half hour.
