What You Need:
1 stick butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup flour
Gel Food Coloring (Blue, teal, pink and yellow)
1. Cream together butter and sugar with a whisk until butter lightens in color and volume increases, about five minutes.
2. Add egg yolk, vanilla and salt. Add flour and mix to combine. Wrap dough in plastic and chill 2 hours.
3. Dust work surface with powdered sugar. Divide dough by fourths. Dye each with gel food colors (teal, pink, blue and yellow). Stack colors yellow, then blue, the pink, then blue and finally teal. Shape into rounded rectangle. Wrap in plastic, chill 2 hours.
4. Slice dough into 1/8 inch slices. Bake at 325 for 15-20 mins. Allow to cool on pan for five minutes. Place cooled cookies on a plate and dunk in milk, coffee or eat alone.
5. For Alola Muk Ice Cream Sandwiches: place ice cream between layers of cookies. Eat carefully, because it's messy as heck, much like Alola Muk.
