All right, one local business owner is making sure
that you can still get your sweets while
staying fit. Tala Amini bakes cookies,
cupcakes, and brownies that taste good,
but also pack protein and nutrients.
Yeah, Fox 13's A.J. Janneville shows us how you can
snack while staying a snack this upcoming holiday season.
Through the work that I've been doing,
through competition, through working with kids,
through my bakery, it's my way of giving back.
Tala Amini wears a lot of hats. She's a professional bodybuilder,
an educator who works with children with autism,
and since 2020, a small business owner.
Tala runs Fuelicious Bakery, an online storefront making sweet treats,
but with better ingredients and packed with protein,
like a cookie with 30 grams of protein.
There's some people who go on diets that are like,
I can't eat sweets, I can't do it.
If I do it once, I'm a failure, I messed up.
So hopefully that bakery inspires others that
you could still have this and enjoy life too.
Tala tells me the challenges that come
with body image is something she understands.
I myself struggled when I was a kid
with an eating disorder.
And I was very, very skinny, which was fine, but I never
had the knowledge of like education of diet.
She says finding fitness led her to finding dedication.
She hopes to highlight for others the importance of realizing
you can still enjoy your food while staying healthy.
Reporting in Seattle, AJ Janneville, Fox 13 News.
Yeah, I'll have what she's having.
Yeah, and 30 grams, she said, of protein in one cookie?
Delicious.
Wow.
She just got her baked goods in a local Seattle gym.
She's hoping to keep growing her small business.
And you can order her treats from her website.
