The segment highlights the diverse culinary offerings of the festival, specifically featuring a unique tasting experience from Estrelita Restaurant.
Meteorologist Lauren Robinson is in Midtown where something
is tasting good and looking good.
Good afternoon to you.
Hey, Jonathan, you're exactly right.
There's so much food here, everything tasting and looking good.
Right now I'm at Grand Tasting Midtown,
which is held in the Epicurean Atlanta Hotel.
And what this is, is this falls under the umbrella of Taste of Atlanta.
So there's Grand Tasting Midtown, there's Grand Tasting Alpharetta,
and there's food that rocks Sandy Springs.
Now, this is the final event of the season.
It is sold out, but I will tell you,
you want to stay tuned for details on how to follow along.
But first, let's talk about some of the restaurants that are here.
With me, I have Chef Hope Webb,
and we're with Estrelita Restaurant here.
And first, let's talk a little bit about what you have to offer.
I'm going to give you the mic
because she's already explained to me how I have to do this.
It's a bite, an espresso shot, and then another bite.
So I'm going to let her explain this,
and there's a bit of a rarity that gets on top of this, right?
Yes.
And you can tell.
Yeah, so right now we have our, this is a traditional sweetbread
with a cream cheese buttercream topped with cheddar on top.
And we actually have an ube affogato here, so a little bit of espresso.
Yeah, a little bit of espresso and a little bit of ube ice cream.
I'm going to have to take the shot.
Yep.
All right.
oh that's good and i have to take another bite
that's how we have to eat it yes
and then this is finished with a very rare salt called asin tibuok
and it is a Boholano um a regional salt from the Philippines
and um it only 11 families make it
and they can produce about 60 a year um they say depending
on the families that are in production
you probably get about 500 units made per year,
but that's the finishing touch.
Fantastic. And I'm going to take this back from you.
And that was a great description
as I continued to stuff my face over here.
This is really so good. So tell me where can
people come and try this out? Where are you located?
So we're located in Grant Park right
now. However, we will be moving to South downtown,
probably the first quarter of 2027,
but we're in Grant Park, 580 Woodward Avenue.
It's just a small little restaurant, but we're
going to be growing really fast really soon
and where can people find you on social media really
quick actually it's a Filipino on Instagram
and on Facebook as well a little bit of TikTok not as
much though all right
and just stay tuned with how you can stay in touch with Taste of Atlanta
throughout the year make sure you go to taste
of atlanta.com that's where you can sign up for
updates and even some discounts
so i'm going to continue eating my way around this place
now reporting from Epicurean Midtown i'm
at Grand Tasting Midtown I'm meteorologist Lauren Robinson
for Fox 5 News. I got some food to get back.
Yeah, you gotta go. The food's so good you had
to hand the mic off to somebody else.
I love it, Lauren. Yeah, so much unique and amazing
looking cuisine out there. Enjoy that, Lauren.
Bring us back something. We're hungry. All right,
Lauren, thanks.
