Tropical Weather Forecast: Hurricane Trudy, Tropical Storm Simon

Let's track your tropical weather and things are still very active across the eastern Pacific. We now have Simon that is weakened from a hurricane to a tropical storm. That one is close to the Baja Peninsula, the southern part of it. We now have Trudy, which was a tropical storm, which is now strengthened to a hurricane. So this is all going on off of the west coast of Mexico. So a lot of problems here. If you have travels here, keep a close eye on what's happening. Tropical Storm Simon is actually down to 50 miles per hour, and here's the good news. At one point, it looked like it was going to make landfall across the southern Baja Peninsula. Now it looks like it weakens into a remnant low over the next few days and stays to the west, so no direct landfall from that one. However, Hurricane Trudy could cause a lot more issues because it's going to be a major hurricane by this weekend, and it is going to brush right by that central western Mexican coast, And we already have hurricane watches and tropical storm warnings up for some areas northwest of Acapulco in Mexico. So that's where the major tropical issues are. Jumping over to the Atlantic Basin, it is super quiet. And that's a good thing because, of course, last week we had Hurricane Isaias pop up on us in the Gulf. Missed us here in H-Town, but, of course, hit the Florida Panhandle. And right now, no signs of a tropical storm or Hurricane Josephine. Water temps are still very warm out there in the Gulf, but at this point, no signs that we do have anything coming to life out there. And we're not expecting any tropical activity, Caroline, for the next seven days in the Atlantic Basin. So I'm happy about that. Hopefully we can finish the season without anything else. But I'm excited about that cold front, which is less than 24 hours away from making an appearance and bringing those temps where they need to be. It's going to feel like fall, Ramesha. Thank you.
