Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. Two Weather Alert days are ahead as rain moves in Friday, followed by a powerful cold front bringing heavy downpours and wind gusts up to 40-45 mph.
Then comes a dramatic temperature drop. Highs struggle to reach the 40s Saturday, with wind chills making it feel even colder. Some higher elevations could even see a few snowflakes.
We're all in the clear for today.
Tomorrow, though, alongside Saturday, are both weather alerts.
Tomorrow, the rain develops, and the wind starts
to pick up through the afternoon, too.
That wind peaks during the daytime of Saturday,
and it will be the coldest weekend of the season thus far.
High temperatures stuck in the 40s for Saturday, and wind chills
are going to be even colder than that, even during the daytime.
So, futurecasts for today.
We're in decent shape.
Either side of 60 degrees, mainly sunny sky.
In come these clouds late overnight into tomorrow morning.
By 7, 8 a.m., we are tracking some showers and better downpours.
first for our western areas
then sliding eastward towards Boston this continues through the late
morning through midday but i do think mid-afternoon
and early evening we'll likely see a respite this
will actually be the warmest time of the day
with some nice southwest winds temperatures 65 70
degrees what i do want you to really keep
in your back pocket is this main cold front that'll be
sliding through between 6 and 11 p.m further east you
are the later it'll be and alongside this front
we'll likely see at least some scattered heavy downpours
and the potential for those wind gusts
around 40, even 45 miles per hour.
This continues to slide eastward as we head for Saturday morning.
Then on the backside, a very sharp temperature change expected.
Temperatures waking up Saturday morning
are only going to be held back into the 30s and 40s,
and of course our wind chills are going to be colder than that,
some flakes flying across the higher terrain there
as we head for our Saturday afternoon.
Rainfall forecast either side of half
an inch, a pretty good bet right now.
Some spots could be closer to around an inch depending
on where those downpours align themselves,
And the bulk of this coming tomorrow morning alongside
the overnight Friday into Saturday.
Now, I do want to take note of these wind chills.
This is 11 p.m., so if we're out late Friday night,
it's feeling like the mid-60s.
But by the time you wake up Saturday morning,
those wind chills are down into the 30s.
This is a very sharp temperature change,
so we are keeping that weather alert into our Saturday morning.
Still feeling like the 40s through the afternoon.
Shedding the weather alert Sunday afternoon
as our temperatures climb into the mid-50s.
Actually feeling like the temperature as that wind shuts down.
Monday, Tuesday, that's the return of 60s here to the region.
