Let's step aside from that and talk about this forecast.
We have a beautiful evening shaping up here in H-Town.
So let's get over to meteorologist Tamisha Shade.
Look at that, 92 high today, huh?
It's not a record, so we're heading in the right direction.
And guess what?
It's going to be a lot cooler out there tomorrow.
But this is still way above where we should be this time of the year.
We should be closer to 83, not 93.
But we were up to 92 in Houston today
and still sitting at 90 for parts of Houston,
90 in Katy, 90 degrees for you in Anahuac.
Here's the good news. Change is right around the corner.
You can see that cold front slicing across the state.
Still near 90 for Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Corpus Christi,
Dallas, but 62 degrees in Amarillo right now, 69 in Midland and a lot
of rain where the cold air, the warm air kind of clashing there.
We've also had a lot of flooding for parts of north central
and northwest Texas.
So we can say goodbye to the summer weather, at least for this week.
Fall weather is officially back starting tomorrow,
lasting through the weekend.
This cold front arrives early tomorrow,
and it's going to be the chilliest air since spring, since May.
And we're also going to have some gusty wind.
In fact, wind gusts could be close to 30, 35,
maybe 40 miles per hour for parts of your Friday.
And for that reason, we've got a big chunk
of the area with a wind advisory.
It doesn't include the Houston Metro yet,
but places like Galveston, Baytown, Wharton, Sugar Land,
Sealy, Navasota College Station under that wind advisory.
I want to show you that the wind
is not really messing with us much through tonight.
But as soon as that front rolls in tomorrow morning, 8 a.m.,
notice those gusts picking up over 20 miles per hour behind it.
And tomorrow afternoon, you can clearly see some gusts around 30
to 35 miles per hour, especially over towards the coast,
Galveston, Bay City, and also over towards Wharton.
So the front at this point bringing a lot of heavy rain,
strong storms back across parts of northwest, north central Texas.
Don't think we're going to get a ton
of rain, but that wind will be gusty.
You can see those downpours to our northwest this evening, tonight.
going into tomorrow morning though that front arrives
and yes there could be a brief downpour
especially towards the coast around 8 a.m for the morning rush
but the main event will be the
temperatures crashing likely staying in the 70s
and 60s tomorrow afternoon and also the gusty winds
that wind blowing in out of the north close to 30 miles per hour
and maybe even a bit stronger at
times so not much rain like i said 20 percent rain chance during
the day on friday then we erase even that
low rain chance for saturday
and sunday this is how much cooler it's going to be for your weekend
of course we're in the 70s tomorrow
but i think saturday afternoon some of you may not even get
into the 60s for houston a high around 70
so great park weather down to the 40s and 50s though
Sunday morning I think for Houston we're down
to 51 degrees I definitely had to drop those
temperatures a little bit
because the models are trending a little bit cooler so we've got three
legitimate fall days to look forward to 76
for the high Friday 70 Saturday 75 Sunday and overnight
lows in the 40s and 50s this weekend
so throw on the sweaters the jackets enjoy the chill and get
ready for some warm-ups as we go into next week
those 80s are going to try to make a comeback
