Units of the Skelya Regiment and the First Azov Corps of the National Guard conducted a joint offensive operation in the Dobropilia direction and halted the advance of Russian forces in the area of Gruzskoye and Novomykolaivka. This was reported by the 425th Separate Assault Regiment "Skelya."
According to available information, Russian troops were amassing forces in this area in order to reach logistics routes, create conditions for encircling Druzhkovka, and continue the offensive in the direction of Dobropilia.
Assault groups traversed the forest belt system and cleared dozens of Russian positions. Azov units then withdrew reinforcement groups to retake the recaptured positions.
As a result, Russian troops were pushed back and their further advance was disrupted.
According to the military, during the operation, fighters from the Skelya unit killed 46 Russian servicemen in small arms combat, not counting enemy losses from other weapons. The Dobropilia direction is part of a broader struggle for the Ukrainian defensive belt of Druzhkovka-Kramatorsk-Slovyansk. Russia's advance in this area could threaten the Defense Forces' logistics routes and provide Russian troops with the opportunity to advance toward Druzhkovka and Kramatorsk from the west.
During the operation, the "Skelya" unit stormed and cleared Russian positions, after which the "Azov" unit deployed reinforcement groups. The soldiers report that the fighting took place at close range, and in some areas, they used captured Russian weapons and ammunition against the occupiers themselves. Russian troops held positions in the area for a long time, and individual groups attempted to advance toward Novomykolaivka to plant the Russian flag there. Ukrainian forces claimed they thwarted this plan and captured the flag as a trophy.
Russian military blogger Anatoly Radov eports that Ukrainian troops entered the Golden Well where a "catastrophic situation" has developed for the Russian Armed Forces . He also reported that the Special Operations Command has fully regained control of the village of Novovodanoye. According to DeepState, both settlements have been and remain under Ukrainian control since 2025. According to Radov, fresh Ukrainian forces and new crews have been deployed to the area. "I'm shocked by what's happening ." In his opinion , the key factor in the SDU's success was the "bullshit and lack of coordination" of the Russian military, specifically false reports to the higher-ups—resulting in the accumulation of Ukrainian attack aircraft for a subsequent strike toward Rubizhne and Kucherov Yar.
