Balancing Big Dreams and a Broken Heart: My Truth as a Caregiver #dementia

I haven’t posted a real time video in a few days. Not because I don’t have content — I do.

But I just haven’t had the energy to edit. Took me 5 days to post this.

But I decided to go ahead and post it because I am still feeling it and I still stand in the need of prayer.
Sometimes caregiving takes every drop of you. And then, without warning, the feelings come crashing down like a wave you didn’t see coming.

Right now… I’m riding that wave.💔

I’m in the biggest career moment of my life — a moment I worked and prayed for — and I can’t share it with my mom.

Actually… I don’t have any parent to share this moment with. And the truth is, sometimes you just need a parent.

Not for advice or approval, but just to say “I’m proud of you.”

But when a parent gets dementia, NOTHING is ever the same. Not HOLIDAYS. Not BIRTHDAYS.

So if you’re reading this, please lift me in prayer.

I’ve been crying a lot lately. Menopause isn't helping either. The emotions feel heavier.

I know I’m not alone in this.

To every caregiver, dreamer, or grieving child out there: Your feelings are valid.

And if you’re walking this tightrope of success and sadness like I am, I see you.🖤

One day at a time. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Me to Me: Chin up buttercup! 💪🏾
