From Memory Care to Family Time: Holiday Moments with Mama #dementia

Yesterday's holiday adventure started with me picking Mama up from memory care — and let me tell you, she was ignoring staff and being all types of shady! 😂

We made a quick pit stop at the store (because what’s a holiday without a cookout?), then headed to our house for a home visit. Mama may have dementia, but her sass is still fully intact. And so is her spirit.

Even on the holidays, I do my best to create moments that feel familiar and joyful — whether that’s a quick trip out, sitting at home, or just letting her be herself in her own way.

💡 Caregiving during the holidays isn’t easy — but it’s real, it’s rewarding, and it’s full of unexpected laughs and tender moments. This is what it looks like when you choose to love someone through every version of themselves.
