WE OUTSIDE!!! A Dementia Walk With Mama
Today’s visit with Mama was like many others — she was on the move, walking nonstop through the facility. She didn’t want to go in her room, so we went outside to get some fresh air and sunshine.
Outdoor time can work wonders for persons living with dementia. Sunshine helps regulate sleep patterns, supports vitamin D production, and can lift mood — even on days when communication is difficult. 🌞
Mama was having trouble finding her words today, but that didn’t stop us. We took a long walk until the heat got to us, then headed back inside.
Every day won’t be perfect. But every moment counts.
✨ Never underestimate the healing power of a walk, a breeze, and simply being together. Sometimes, the quietest moments are the most meaningful.
