Operation Vivaldi, which involves most of the brigades and units of the 3rd Army Corps, is approaching the third of four planned phases.

This was stated by the spokesman for the Third Army Corps, Oleksandr Borodin. “Most of the brigades and units of the 3rd Army Corps are involved in Operation Vivaldi. As you can understand from the name, there is a reference to four stages, so there will be at least four of them. We have passed the second, we are approaching the third,” he noted.

According to Borodin, the Russian military is currently trying to hold on to the remaining lines of defense and consolidate their position. At the same time, the spokesman stressed, the enemy is quite disorganized. He explained that a significant part of the operation takes place before the start of direct offensive actions. This includes, in particular, the destruction of enemy logistics, which reduces the ability of Russian troops to hold their positions.

“We have a loss ratio of 1 to 20–30 in our favor, that is, the enemy’s losses are 20–30 times greater than ours. On our side, the losses are lower than during defensive operations in previous years. The thing is that, in fact, the attack aircraft that go to clear territories and perform tasks are already the final chord,” said Borodin.

He added that by the time the assault units are involved, the Ukrainian military is already carrying out a significant set of preparatory measures.

“Previous work was carried out: destroying the enemy’s logistics, remote mining, isolating areas – that is, a situation was created where the enemy cannot work and does not control his lane. And therefore, the moment when the attack aircraft enter into action is actually the final chord in planning individual assault operations,” the spokesman for the Third Army Corps concluded.

Ukraine's Third Army Corps says it has carried out the first-ever combat deployment of kamikaze unmanned ground vehicles more than 10 kilometers behind enemy lines, using heavy bomber drones to deliver the systems during Operation Vivaldi in northern Donetsk. According to the Third Army Corps, the tactic was used during the second phase of the offensive operation, alongside air defense and electronic warfare measures designed to prevent Russian reconnaissance drones from detecting the Ukrainian advance. Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi, commander of the Third Army Corps, said the corps was the first in the world to deploy ground robotic systems by air. He said heavy bomber drones were used to deliver kamikaze UGVs more than 10 kilometers behind Russian lines. Ukraine had already demonstrated the aerial delivery of ground robotic systems in combat. In August, a heavy Ukrainian drone delivered an ARK-1 ground robotic system deep behind russian lines in what was described as a new "marsupial" tactic, in which one unmanned system transports and releases another. According to the corps, drones and ground robotic systems move ahead of Ukrainian infantry during assault operations. During the second phase of Operation Vivaldi, Ukrainian units also used air defense and electronic warfare systems to suppress russian reconnaissance drones and prevent them from identifying the plan of the offensive.
