US President Donald Trump has shared an interview with Newsmax by Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, on Truth Social.
US President published an interview with Hikmet Hajiyev on his "Truth Social" page under the title "Azerbaijan's Hajiyev to Newsmax: Trump is a peacemaker, a deal with Iran is possible."
It should be noted that in an interview given on September 14, Hikmet Hajiyev spoke about the role of US President Donald Trump in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
"President Trump and his coming to office have completely changed the cooperation and partnership between the United States and Azerbaijan. The most important issue is peace. He has brought peace to the South Caucasus region," said Hikmat Hajiyev.
He called the meeting held at the White House on August 8, 2025, with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Donald Trump, a "historic moment."
"President Trump's leadership brought his political weight to this process and brought Armenia and Azerbaijan to a final peace," Hikmat Hajiyev said.
Hikmet Hajiyev also emphasized that Trump contributed to the formation of a new stage of strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States.
"President Donald Trump and President Ilham Aliyev have laid the foundation for a new era in the US-Azerbaijan strategic partnership," he noted.
Hikmet Hajiyev said that the strategic friendship, cooperation, and partnership between the United States and Azerbaijan is built on a solid foundation and will continue to develop. He noted that the United States fulfilled its promise when Vice President JD Vance visited Azerbaijan and signed a strategic partnership document.
"United States and Azerbaijan strategic friendship and strategic cooperation and partnership is on a strong foundation," Hajiyev said. "It will continue to grow."
"In this geopolitical strategic area," he added, "Azerbaijan remains a reliable and trustful partner of the United States."
