Russian occupiers continue their attempts to capture Malaya Tokmachka in the Orekhovo area. To this end, the enemy is attempting to outflank the town, enclosing it in a pincer movement, and is also employing infiltration tactics. Dmitry Pelikh, head of communications for the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade, told Espresso .

"As for ground attacks, the enemy is using infiltration tactics. More and more often, two attack aircraft will enter the outskirts of a populated area just to wave a flag. Sometimes they even succeed, but the fact is that such occupiers usually don't survive until the next day—the Russians, of course, keep quiet about this," Pelikh said.

He added that Russia is actively using cluster bombs to destroy populated areas in this direction. According to him, sometimes up to 18–20 cluster bombs can fall on a single populated area in a single day. He also noted that after unsuccessful attempts to capture a populated area, Russia attempts to bypass it by encircling it. "It's clear the enemy won't be able to take this settlement. So now they're trying to outflank it with a wider 'pincer,' to corner us through adjacent units. But even there, the defense is being held by very good soldiers, and the enemy is having no success," Pelikh added.

According to the military man, Russia's deadline for using armored vehicles is currently running out. And soon, Pelikh adds, such attacks will become impossible due to adverse weather conditions.

According to their data, the Defense Forces liberated two settlements at once – Shandrigolovo and Derilovo. Given these recent successes, Ukrainian defenders have already de-occupied 43.5 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory. At the same time, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russia is advancing along the border in the Sumy region . As Viktor Tregubov, a representative of the Joint Forces Group, noted, the Russians have managed to create a so-called "buffer zone" 2 to 4 kilometers deep in this region. "Furthermore, we also have a small section of the Sumy region—our part of the Severo-Slobozhansky direction. And the situation there is quite stable. The Russians have occupied a strip along the Ukrainian border there. It's shallow, between 2 and 4 kilometers," the press secretary explained.

According to him, the Russians tried to expand this strip, but they failed.

"It's not possible to expand it, but it's bad that they've drawn such a strip right along the border," Tregubov noted.

He also said that the Russians have become more active in the Velykyi Burlutsky direction and have begun to put pressure on Ukrainian defenders.

In the South Slobozhansky direction, the Russians have somewhat exhausted their offensive potential, but they are still not ceasing their attempts to advance south.

"They somewhat exhausted their offensive potential at the end of the summer. And there's a very amusing 'schizophrenia' going on there, with their statements not matching their actual achievements on the ground," the military man said.
