The Russian Ministry of Defense sparked a furor in the Z community with new victorious reports from the Liman sector. The ministry reported battles for Oskol, Krynki, and Studenok, as well as the "clearing of residential areas" in Liman and Svyatogorsk. The problem is that some of these settlements are located deep in the Ukrainian rear. Z-channels report that the Defense Ministry's statements "don't align with reality." For example, Oskol is located approximately 40 kilometers from the front line, which, according to monitoring channels, currently runs along the Zherebets River.
There is also no confirmation of fighting in Svyatogorsk, which Vladimir Putin previously declared captured. In Liman, according to Russian military channels, Russian forces are only in the southern part of the city, attempting to hold off Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks rather than conducting a full-scale "cleansing" of residential areas.
"While previously we were still toying with taking out loans for settlements in the LBS area, now we're not shying away from clearing out and taking Svyatogorsk, which is located a couple dozen kilometers from the nearest Russian Armed Forces positions," one of the major Z-channels fumed.
In other words, the Russian Ministry of Defense has begun reporting battles in places where, according to public data, the Russian army simply doesn't exist. Previously, such "credited victories" typically concerned villages near the front line. Now, they're talking about settlements located tens of kilometers from Russian positions. Ukrainian forces had previously successfully operated in this area, cutting off the so-called Shandrigolovka salient. Some areas may be delayed on monitoring project maps due to the information blackout, but the response from Z-channels alone demonstrates that even pro-Russian commentators don't believe their own Ministry of Defense's reports. Furthermore, the commander of the 3rd Army Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces told Ukrainska Pravda that Ukrainian forces inflicted heavy losses on the elite Russian Rubicon UAV unit. Following this, he said, the Rubicon was withdrawn from the Liman sector.
