Meghan Markle's mom chat debut took a turn after her personal phone number reportedly went from
schoolyard secret to group chat gossip. Meghan Markle reportedly sparked a security alert
after her personal cell phone number was leaked in a school parent's WhatsApp group.
The Duchess of Sussex's number was reportedly shared in a chat for school parents that she
joined the night before her two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,
had their first day at a UK school. According to The Sun, a screenshot showed two moms welcoming
Markle to the group. One message read,
Welcome to Meghan who has Archie joining tomorrow.
Followed by another that said,
Welcome.
Markle responded,
Hi moms, thanks for the warm welcome. So happy to be part of this community xx.
But following that interaction, someone in the group reportedly screenshotted the conversation,
which included Markle's phone number. The screenshot has since been shared
multiple times following the leak.
The news comes after Markle and her husband Prince Harry abruptly pulled their children
out of the UK school just two days after classes began over security concerns.
Hello! Magazine reported that heavy traffic to and from the school
was putting a strain on the couple's small security team.
A representative for Harry and Markle said the decision was made after discussions
with their security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements.
An insider also told the outlet that security checks had been completed at the school
before the term began, but the family was unable to test the school run.
Meanwhile, Markle and Harry are reportedly set to receive their first
new government-backed security review since moving back to the UK.
According to The Telegraph, the couple has been asked to provide full details
of their new daily routines as part of an official risk assessment.
Markle has also continued sharing intimate family moments on Instagram,
including footage of Lilibet riding her bike,
Archie running alongside her, and Harry taking the children out on a boat.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield called the decision to share those moments striking,
given the couple's concerns about privacy and security.
Schofield told Page Six that if privacy is genuinely the priority,
the most effective strategy is simple — stop broadcasting your family life
to millions of strangers.
Markle shared another glimpse of the family on Tuesday to celebrate Harry's 42nd birthday,
writing,
He's simply the best. Happy birthday, my love.
As the couple navigates renewed security concerns in the UK,
Markle's leaked phone number and continued family post
have once again put their privacy in the spotlight.
