The dad gets assassinated, then the mother has cancer and then like they both die.
Too much, too much.
Hi, I'm Denny Murphy.
I'm Evan Real.
And it's a Real Housewives of New York fall, but trends and fashion and everything like that kind
of were at the forefront of a lot of the drama going on towards the end of the episode.
Yeah, so Jessa was interested in the hype around the CBK summer.
Yes.
She was also interested in was CBK a bitch?
Because I mean, also, as people who watched the OG Roni, we know Carol very well.
Yes, we follow Carol, her subset, everything.
She's a beautiful writer.
And we know, obviously, this is a very personal story to her.
But sometimes, you know, when you're at brunch with the girls,
you kind of it's loud.
We've been to this place before, too.
Yeah, it's loud.
We're drinking a little bit.
There's some shots, everything like that.
You kind of just want to get you don't beat around the bush.
So when Daisy was kind of having a run on sentence about asking,
I'm assuming this is what Jessa felt about Daisy,
because Daisy was really building up wanting to ask Carol a lot of questions.
And that's when Jessa was like, just say it.
Is CBK a bitch?
I want to know all about her.
That's the question.
Is she a bitch?
That's what I want to know.
Daisy was like, that was not my question.
No, I know.
I felt so bad.
Daisy got it.
She's like, let me text this tutor really fat.
Oh, the tutor.
We'll get into that later.
But yeah, so it seems like Carol and Jessa went from
neutral to negative to Carol leaving the brunch.
Yeah, I do know.
I think this is a really sensitive time for Carol because she rejoined
the Roni universe as Love Story was airing.
And like Denny mentioned, she wrote her book,
What Remains, about her relationship with JFK Jr's cousin.
And she was very much involved in that story.
And also Carol isn't involved in Love Story.
And she doesn't like that Love Story.
She was talking negatively about the portrayals.
So it's very triggering.
And so she couldn't even get past six minutes of watching it.
Yeah.
Which is heavy and hard.
So I could see, I think it also is probably hard for Carol that she's like,
OK, I'm going back on Roni.
And my first time sitting down, it's all everyone is out.
She's like, I can't just talk about Love Story.
Yeah, no, it must be so hard for her.
And I think that at that point, Jessa didn't understand that.
And I think, you know, Jessa, she was just coming off a fashion meeting
in Style Magazine about the resurgence of CBK style and the minimalist energy
she brought to her sartorial choices.
And Jessa thought that was amazing and incredible.
She wants a Jessel Tank summer.
Yeah.
She was like, when I die, y'all better be in your best dress couture.
And it's going to be a Jessel Tank summer.
F*** yeah.
Like she was so into it.
I do love how much everyone kind of like how Carol forgot Sy for a second.
Everyone forgot Sy was at her brunch.
I know.
But Sy said she kind of appreciated it.
Right.
She was like, you know what?
I have so much going on.
Let me just watch these women fight.
Because there was obviously the tension between Carol and Jessel.
Then there's a lot of tension between Jessel and Erin.
But one thing I do want to say really quickly,
and we just recently chatted with Jessel at Patriots Radio,
and I think she understood.
When it comes to the CBK of it all and Carol Radziwill,
I think that what Carol didn't express,
maybe she expressed it and it just didn't, you know, didn't make the cut.
I think that when it comes to the CBK summer of it all,
the trends and stuff, I think that probably in her head,
she was like, okay, you can't just reduce my best friend to a trend.
She's more than just a headband and a black sweater and a white pair of slacks.
And also that everyone is just sensationalized.
Because the show is very sensationalizing of the love story.
You know what I mean?
It really is kind of like taking away what they built
and who they are as people and everything like that.
Carol was there.
She saw the real thing.
So it was probably if she were to continue on with watching,
I think she said she could only get past those six minutes or whatever it was.
You know, she would-
Also, if it was the first six minutes, it's when they show the crash.
So, but I feel like if she were to keep watching,
it would just be like, well, that didn't happen like that.
And Daryl Hannah actually wasn't a lunatic and this, that and the other.
And I feel like it just,
there's no way she would have been able to get through it.
And I don't think she can really get through the questions.
And I hope that the questions stop there.
Honestly, I know that we still have to figure out like the Epstein of it all,
because that's going to come up when she gets heckled in the street with Aaron.
We see that in the trailer.
We also see Cy confronting her about being included in the Epstein files.
So got through-
That's how Carol earned her apple.
No, I know, right?
Because she's going to be a friend of, now she got, yeah.
She got through the love story bit.
She got through the Epstein bit.
She did leave the brunch.
There was other drama going down at the brunch.
I think she was there for the tutor of it all.
She was there for the tutor and everyone's a little shook that,
how Daisy's tutor-
Girl, can you send us a picture of this tutor?
Wait, I need to know what he looks like.
A hot 26 year old.
Come on, Daisy, hook us up.
Having a crush on a man is actually making me helplessly f***ing stupid.
You make me feel like I'm 12 again.
But also, girl, you have a hot man at home.
I know, well, Eugene is f***ing hot as s***.
Eugene wearing his glasses, quizzing.
I want to be in the spelling bee.
I'm like, teach me how to spell beginner.
Forgotten and beginner.
I know, I was like, what's happening?
And also when he's moving the wine glass so it doesn't spill.
Oh, I know that was a little sexy.
He was like, Daisy, why you gotta get crazy with it?
Like, put it in the middle of the table.
Also, I love that Daisy's in her Olivia Pope with glasses.
So cute.
I will say Eugene and Daisy remind me so much of me and my husband
because Brian is so type A and I'm just a type B person.
Like, I'm leaving the glass on the edge of the thing on accident.
I understand the importance of putting it in the middle,
but he would be the one to shift it and remind me
and he doesn't like it when the refrigerator doors open too long
and this, that, and the other.
And it just really reminded me so much of our dynamic.
What also reminded me of our dynamic, just a smidge,
is when she's texting the hot tutor.
Like, all the people sign into my DMs and send me absolutely insane s***.
And I'm just, like, saucy spicy s***.
And I'm just a people pleaser.
And I feel bad because they took time out of their day
to say something absolutely insane to me, about me.
And typically, like, I should receive it as a compliment and most times I do.
But some of the messages are a little bit weird and abrasive and sexually charged,
but I just heart them.
See, okay, you and Daisy have to talk about that.
Like Daisy, because she hearted her message from the tutor,
which was essentially like, I'm about to bust.
That's what, because Carol said.
Right, yeah.
Because Carol's like, he's busting.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think you both have to work on communication skills.
I wonder if Eugene knows about the tutor messages
because one thing I will say,
I would hope so.
I do show my saucy DMs to my husband
and we get a good laugh together out of it.
But I don't know, from what I...
Maybe Eugene is a laugh...
I don't think Eugene would be laughing.
Well, I don't know if he would want that tutor to be...
Because the tutor's in the home.
Yeah.
And talking for two hours after the tutoring sessions are done.
Oh, do you know what I think?
Wait, I just, a theory just sparked in my mind.
So you know how she keeps encouraging Sai to hire the tutor?
And Sai's not saying go.
I think that, well, there's that.
I think she's like, oh, well, Sai could definitely like the tutor.
But I think also she knows her journey with the tutor must come to an end
or else she's going to reach like very dangerous territory.
Yet she still cares about him and wants to keep him employed.
So she's like, why don't you just work for Sai?
Y'all can get down in all the tutoring sessions.
She was saying the only way she knows,
because she's not confrontational, which is so...
I'm not confrontational whatsoever.
I get anxiety when I have to be confrontational,
especially like in a message.
And so her way and also my way, Daisy,
I totally feel you on this is just ghosting
and not answering and ignoring messages.
Unless it's a heart, because that's...
Unless it's a heart, I guess.
So maybe, you know, maybe Sai will get down with the tutor
after she finishes out the prenup.
I mean, we need more.
We need more details.
We need more on the tutor.
We also need more clarity.
We need to interview the dermatologist.
Dr. Belkin.
Should we talk about the dermatologist that injected me?
Who you treated like s***.
What do you mean by treated like s***?
What are we talking?
He's a bit...
I don't know if he has time for an interview,
because he is like the dermatologist to the stars.
He does Martha's Botox.
He does everyone's Botox.
But apparently he was Daisy's first.
Then I think Erin also worked with him.
Jessel told us she got him from Jenna Lyons.
Oh, that's true.
So...
What is the truth?
Dr. Belkin, we actually do need to talk to you.
We need to know the truth.
But I do love that that was drama now between Erin and Jessel.
And then they forgave each other.
But then Erin started talking s*** about Jessel to Daisy,
which I do...
I'm like...
Was it to Daisy or Erica?
To Daisy.
And then Erica heard it.
Erica clocked it.
Oh, gotcha.
I don't know if Erica heard it,
but she clocked Erin whispering to Daisy looking at Jessel.
Oh.
And that's why Erica's like,
I don't like that.
Yeah.
I do love Erica's workout class though.
Oh my God.
She's just...
Wait.
Girl, I used to go to Equinox.
You're gonna make me rejoin for the third time.
I've quit and rejoined too many times.
I know, didn't it look like so much fun?
I've been in that studio.
Really?
That exact one?
I mean, Erica, we got so much more Erica on this week's episode.
And I love that she sleeps with her watches outside when her husband's not home.
It's kind of genius.
I mean, not kind of.
Like, so absolutely, incredibly genius.
So she was explaining on the show that when her husband's not home,
she feels potentially unsafe.
And so what she does is she puts all of her jewelry
and her husband's watches outside of the door
so that the potential burglar can just take that
and like leave her alone.
And then she sleeps with a knife.
Yes.
Which I love that she's protecting herself.
But also girl, you are the knife.
You're a WWE girl.
Right.
She was a former.
Like, you don't need to...
Like, I feel like your fists are stronger than a knife.
Right.
She can like beat someone's ass.
She knows how to kick box.
And also this was because we all kind of talked about it last week
because we got the sneak peek.
It was the post her workout that the strawberry jam happened.
Yes.
And I do love...
Daisy and Erica were dying of confusion and LOL.
Hailey hates Aaron.
Their friendship lasted an episode.
Yeah.
And it seems like it's going to get worse next week
because then in the sneak peek...
I mean, did we all watch the coming attraction
where Aaron calls out Hailey for...
Aaron's words, breaking up a marriage of someone with eight kids.
Yeah.
Well, she was saying...
Like, she would never do that.
Well, she was also saying,
I would rather be called vanilla and boring
than being the woman who broke up a marriage with a man with eight kids.
And we know the backstory with Hailey.
And after Hailey told her that her mom had her...
Right, exactly.
So I don't know.
Look, it was a very sharp switch up.
Like the pivot from hanging out with Aaron to absolutely hating Aaron.
But there must be something that we don't know.
Or maybe it was.
Maybe she really...
Was it Allison?
The girlfriend?
The girlfriend situationship, love interest.
Maybe Hailey's really pissed about that.
Well, I think she is because if you guys...
Also, that was when Aaron asked Allison about the nose and the boob thing.
I really don't think Aaron meant anything bad by it, though.
No, I don't think she had any malintent.
I think she just thought it was funny.
I think because, you know, Hailey's so hysterical
and she brings a lot of levity to Roni,
which is why I think she's becoming an instant fan favorite.
When she originally told the story about her nose being broken
by her hookup partner's double-D breast,
I interpreted it as a funny, jovial account of a bonker situation.
And so I think that it gave...
In Aaron's mind, her interpretation was like,
oh, I can share the story.
It's just a funny story.
I also would have thought if I was Aaron, I'm like,
this is probably a story Hailey tells her girls.
Like her girlfriends.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
That this is maybe one of her best does.
I also just...
Breaking the fourth wall a little bit.
As a viewer, the way I interpreted it was,
oh, Aaron likes Hailey.
This is a fun story to share.
This is Aaron, in a way,
giving her stamp of approval as a Roni vet
and sharing the story to give Hailey more of a moment
because she likes her.
She's sort of perpetuating the fun of Hailey.
It's how I saw it because it was such a funny story.
But it had real repercussions, apparently,
because Hailey said that when Aaron told her friend,
hookup partner, whoever this wonderful woman was,
she went through her phone.
It caused a fight.
Also, they're not talking.
Don't date someone who has to go through your phone.
Yeah.
Just rule of thumb.
That's a red flag.
Don't love that.
Yeah.
Don't do that.
I mean, OK.
So I feel like strawberry jam is going to be a thing.
Strawberry jam is going to be a thing.
Mongoose is going to be a thing.
What did you think of the strawberry jam analogy?
She's freaking strawberry jam.
Who?
Jam on the table.
You ever go to a diner and there's jam?
Yeah.
You don't care about the jam.
It's like the jam is there.
Take it or leave it.
Well, am I just like a fat bitch?
I love that strawberry jam at a diner.
I'm spreading that on all my things.
Great.
And all the time or just sometimes?
Because that's an important distinction.
I know.
I kind of do with my butter.
Yeah.
Dude, are you strawberry or grape, typically?
Oh, see?
I'm strawberry.
Oh, you are?
Yeah.
I thought you were going to say grape.
Well, I was going to say.
And Hailey was going to be like, see?
No, I feel like I was going to say I'm a raspberry jam.
But that's so rare.
OK.
Hair flip.
I like the finer things in life, my love.
Yeah.
I don't mind a strawberry jam, actually.
I don't either.
Yeah.
But a very interesting comparison for sure.
Very interesting.
And also speaking of Erin, we talked to her last week about it, too.
But seeing the Hamptons house really was sick.
Oh, it's so tough.
Yeah, I know.
And I feel like when we also chatted with her, didn't she say she was still dealing with it?
I mean, that damage.
We only saw some moments.
It looks like she said an architect who's helping her kind of restore it,
said that he was working on a house that was destroyed during Hurricane Katrina
and that this was worse than the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
Just, you know, comparing it to the house he was working on after that.
But so she's a yeah, the house is down bad.
And I just feel so sad for like all the memories, the memories erased.
Well, the memory is not erased.
But, you know, these boxes of belongings that belong to her dad,
who just died, who she was very close with is very so heartbreaking.
Oh, my God.
So sending love to Aaron and Aiden, the kids, that's hard.
Oh, my God.
But and then I think but I think Aaron will entertain us next week
because that's when it seems like it's going to be her and Haley showdown.
So stay tuned for that recap.
Going to be crazy.
